Not sure if you made the switch or not, but I’m generally against such moves. I realized Thursday night that I probably still had Fred Jackson starting, when I knew he was out (but forgot the Bills played the Thursday night game). I didn’t request a roster change because it was my fuck up.
If you do make the switch, I’d ask that you swap Manningham in for Jackson (Manningham hasn’t played yet).
Not to be a dick, but once the games start, I don’t think we should be messing with the rosters. Barring yahoo being down, severe personal issues, or the like, I’d be against it.
In light of the above, you’re stuck with Sproles, Wilson. For future reference, I’ll go with Hamlet’s thing and make these switches only if you have a really good excuse. I may or may not include massive hangovers among such excuses.
FWIW, I make “oh shit I’m 5 minutes late, can you make the switch for me?” type requests in other leagues. I tend to try to work people if it’s clear they aren’t trying to game the system - I try to avoid people having season-long bitterness because of enforcing those sorts of hard rules.
I’m OK with not making the change if that’s the consensus - I’ll admit this was a bit more than five minutes… more like fifteen to twenty. I think Ingram had 16 yards rushing at that point, midway through the first quarter.
I really thought Sproles was going to be active, never thought to look.
I know in the Big League we allow contingent starts - are they allowed here? Could I have said on Sunday morning that I wanted Ingram in if Sproles was not active?
I don’t think Ellis did that. I’m not really in favor of the idea except in limited circumstances (at a wedding, in hospital, etc.) because I think keeping an eye on the Sunday morning injury reports is part of the game, but if the majority wants it we’ll do it.
I’ve now lost MJD, Darren McFadden, Mike Goodson, Michael Vick, and now Willis McGahee for weeks to injuries. That’s my first round pick, my third round pick, my fourth round pick, my best keeper, and his handcuff.
At the very least though, I’ll have Andrew Luck in the 3rd round, Randall Cobb in the 7th, and Danny Amendola in the 9th next year. Unless they get injured too. Which I won’t doubt.
But, in this crazy world, these injuries are countered by some unbelievable luck in my money league. There, I won this week by just .9 points on the back of LaRod Steven Howling (yes I have McFadden in that league too), and won last week thanks to Vick being injured and the Rams tying the Niners. Maybe it all balances out somehow.
I don’t think you really get to complain about MJD or Run-DMC. MJD was a questionmark when you drafted him, and McFadden had a questionable tag on his ankle at birth.
You also probably could have traded LSH for Ronnie Hillman, though I tried trading Andre Brown for Toby Gerhart a couple of times and Beef wasn’t having it.
On the other hand, I’ve been incredibly lucky with AP and didn’t expect this type of production even if he did start from day 1.
As for my keepers, I’ve got Mendenhall (round 5 next year), Mike Williams (R7) and Josh Freeman (R9). Can’t complain.
I have to win out to have a realistic shot at the playoffs. It isn’t gonna happen, not with how unlucky this team has been. I can’t understand how I’m favored in projected points 13 out of 14 weeks and I’m 5-6. How can a team which was #2 in points after eight weeks, holder of two of the three highest weekly totals, have two different weeks where their entire team doesn’t score a TD? And a third where the only TD was a single QB passing TD? This is the most frustrating team I’ve ever had, out of all the frustrating teams I’ve ever had.
It’s only fitting that a fan of the Eagles should have a fantasy team so dominant on paper and so pathetic on Sundays.
I don’t see you losing this week, considering what you and Beef have left. It would have helped you more if Omni had beaten Munch, but it looks like that’s not going to happen now - and Munch has two relatively easy games left that you’ll need him to lose at least one of. You have to play furt in the last week, which is bad.
I am probably locked into the #2 or #3 seed. Would be nice if Dave would effing lose so I could have the #1, of course. I don’t want to play furt either.
Dave and I both have 10 wins with three weeks left. 10 wins has been enough for the #1 seed each of the last three seasons. You have to go back to DrewBrees’Birthmark in 2008 (13-1) for a team that won more than 10 games. I forgot whose team that was - Wilson?
That’s me, though I don’t remember winning that many. My teams have either been bad or had bad luck. The worst was 2006, when I had the most points in the league and finished in the bottom 4. I think it was karma for playing Colston at the TE position all season.
Weirddave has all but clinched the #1 seed; he will have to lose a second straight game to drop behind me, which seems unlikely. He’s already put up more points for the season than anyone did last year, with a game left. In fact, he’s a virtual lock to break the league’s all-time scoring record of 1519*.
The race for the last playoff spot is wide open, and the third spot is suddenly in play again too (after it looked like furt had locked it up weeks ago). furt will make the playoffs as long as he doesn’t get outscored by Jules and Munch by 40+. In addition to Jules and Munch, Omni and Mundi could also take the fourth seed and have easy matchups this week.
None of the 7-6 teams plays each other this week, meaning they could all theoretically lose. If that happens, Wilson would actually take the fourth playoff spot at 7-7, assuming he beats me this week (as if).
If I had to guess, I would say Munch will wind up with the fourth playoff spot. He’s scored 100 or more (though not much more) in each of the last four weeks. He also gets to play Hamlet, who’s scored less than 80 in three of the last four. Jules is two ahead in the tie breaker but has to play furt, and has been wildly inconsistent lately (47 points in Week 10).
The Mad Hermit is close to a historic double: most points against and least points scored. He’s 13 points out in the former category. Meanwhile, Dave has both the most points scored and the fewest points against right now.
*set by VarlosZ in 2007. Amusingly enough, he failed to make the playoffs that year, ending with a 7-6-1 record.
