Well, Deshaun, it was nice when it lasted.
Just to update/record keep with Varlos’ roster management, he had Tom Brady on a bye this week and Brian Hoyer is no longer a starting QB, so I dropped Hoyer to give him Tom Savage, the best projected starter this week. I’m trying to manage his roster with as light a touch as possible, but it’s not viable to field it without a QB.
I’ll trade Alex Smith or Russell Wilson (#2 and #3 scoring QBs) for WR help. Also Jay Ajayi or LeSean McCoy.
I’m desperate for QB help (having just picked up Andy Dalton to replace Watson/Winston), but I don’t really have depth at WR to trade from. But take a look and let me know if you see a fit.
Sent you an offer. Don’t need a QB but I could use RB depth.
If anyone is desperate, I’ve Josh McCown and I need a RB who can score more than 5 points/week.
And now that I own him free and clear, he’s out and may be out awhile. Pardon me while I shoot myself in the foot.
Tricky decision. I have some good offers for a WR, but they involve shipping over my best keepers for next year. Do I trade next year’s value for a strong championship run this year, or see if I can manage this year with no WRs and keep a good keeper situation next year? Tough one.
Damn that was close.
… when did we go to a three-round playoff?
Quote from first post in this thread:
This weeks matchups need to be adjusted, looks like it is set up for 8 team playoff not six and there are more “byes” then there should be.
Yeah, I think the vote for 6 team playoffs last year was 8-1 or around there. Overwhelming.
Motu, are you looking at the consolation bracket maybe? It looks right to me.
Playoffs:
- Exploding Pancakes (SenorBeef) - bye
- Safety Blitz (Johnny Ace) - bye
- Moridwon (Hamlet) vs 6. Fourth & Nineteen (Wilson)
- Omnipotents (Omniscient) vs 5. Hermits (The Mad Hermit)
Then there’s another playoff bracket set up the same way for seeds 7-12.
Derp again, I wasn’t processing the fact that there are byes for the consolation bracket also.
Total points at the end of the regular season (actual rank in paranthesis, playoff teams in bold)
1. (1) SenorBeef 1337
2. (2) Johnny Ace 1262
3. (6) Wilson 1249
4. (7) weirddave 1159
5. (8) motu 1140
6. (12) Munch 1136
7. (9) Spiritus Mundi 1113
8. (5) The Mad Hermit 1104
9. (3) Hamlet 1089
10. (10) RNATB 1080
11. (14) d_odds 1058
12. (4) Omniscient 1040
13. (13) VarlosZ 1020
14. (11) Overly Sentimental 993
Woo hoo! The only thing that’s gone right this season.
Dismal showing in my inaugural and final season in this league. I won’t be returning next year. Thanks for having me.
Omnipotents defeats Hermits
Fourth and Nineteen defeats Moridwon (Hamlet)
Semi-finals:
-
Exploding Pancakes vs 4. Omnipotents
-
Safety Blitz vs 6. Fourth and Nineteen
You know it’s kind of remarkable that I got the #1 seed and top score given that my keepers were all failures. Pryor and Bryant were totally useless and Ajayi was a bad flex player at best who I didn’t really play. I also lost my #1 drafted WR, Allen Robinson, in week 1, and also fucked up and dropped what would’ve been my #2 WR in Marvin Jones. So I basically didn’t have the top 4 WRs I had planned on having. But I managed to dominate anyway through the strength of QB/RB/TE.
My keepers next year mostly suck, except Kamara as an 8th rounder next year which will be nuts. Ajayi might be worth keeping in the 4th when he’s the primary Philly ball carrier next year.
