He Hate Me FF keeper league

OCX files are ActiveX controls, which are generic libraries that can be used by other applications. comdlg32 is the Windows Common Dialog control. It lets applications easily access the standardized Windows dialogs for things like Open File, Save File As, Select a Printer, and Select a Font.

I try to keep any dlls and ocxs I distribute up to date with DLL Dump. They run a nice site over there. Works great when I include all the necessary files. But in general, if you ever run into a “not found” error on a DLL or OCX file, DLL Dump is the place to go.

Hey everyone, I’ll be there tonight, looking forward to it. I plan to enter keepers onto my exclude list and then fly by the seat of my pants as Commandante Ellis keeps an eye on the whole parade.

BTW I recommend everyone test their system before the draft. Try this link:

DRAFT TIME:

10:30 Eastern
9:30 Central
7:30 Pacific

<Mills Lane>

Let’s GET IT ON!!!

</Mills>

Got my cheatsheets, the test worked, and, by 9:30, I’ll have a belly full of steak, brats, and beer. It’s a good day.

Yes. Actually, I’d be open to making this league (small stakes) money too.

If we can make this happen this week I’m in, I’ll do some research and try and find a place with draft slots still open.

Who’s in for trying something this season?

Me, Mundi, furt, Varlos, Hamlet That’s 5, I’d say 10 is the minimum we could work with, sound off if you’re game.

I’d be interested in an auction league - but I couldn’t make a draft Tuesday or Wednesday.

Almost time. Very exciting. I’m already chugging coffee and making lists.

Now, just so we’re clear, the Keeper List in Post #130 in this thread is final, yes?

Yes.

T-minus 34 minutes. Hope everyone is going to be able to make it.

Who would have thought that keepers would have been the biggest issue? Trades went off without a hitch, which was nice. At least something worked.

What was the final pick? In the chat room Schobel was said, but then Stokley got picked. Who do you want, Omni?

Okay, I finally now understand what the Terry Glenn / Najeh Davenport issue was. So I replaced Davenport with Glenn for Moridwon, since Glenn’s a keeper. When Moridwon was next on the clock, I would not listen to reason from either him or Mundi, and insisted that Davenport was off the board. So Moridwon took Buckhalter instead.

Now that I understand, I’m switching out Buckhalter for Davenport. If I got the wrong in any way, feel free to speak up and I’ll fix it to however you’d prefer. Also, I’m going with Stokley as the Mr. Irrelevant pick, since that’s what was picked. Again, I can change to Schobel if you like.

So here’s the tentative draft results. Note any corrections. In the meantime, I’ll start correcting the yahoo rosters based on this list.

I am in awe of the amount of RBs on each team.

I am in awe of Ellis Dee.

Dude, seriously, get some sleep. You’ve earned it.

In my defense, Ryan Moats and Michael Bennett are running backs only in the most generous sense of the term. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, I made all the roster corrections in yahoo, so you can go in and set your starting lineup whenever you get the chance. I would suggest the first thing you do is verify your roster as posted here in the results post. Then make sure your yahoo roster matches it. Let me know before Thursday if there’s any mistakes to be corrected. (It looks like I can back-date roster changes after the season opener Thursday night, but I’d rather have everything set before then.)

So here’s my thoughts after having gone through the draft. Yes, it was a clusterfuck of the first order. I was stunned at how early and often keepers were being picked off by the wrong owners. I see that as a correctable problem if we take a layered approach. First, after excluding all keepers, we need to prerank all 200+ (but not more than 224!) top players, even if we leave them in default order. Then we need to have the discipline to keep our dropdown set to “My Picks.” I mean that when we change it to pick a legitimate keeper, we must remember to set it back to My Picks.

That should take care of half the problem, but inevitably there will be some mistakes. (Just not so early next time, okay VarlosZ?) I have a whole year to add in a way to handle this in my utility. I envision being able to log the mistake, and then have it automatically append a list of “prohibited fix players” to each notification. It could then come up and tell who the “fix pick” is when the keeper comes on the clock.

Speaking of the notifications, I thought they worked pretty well; exactly as I’d hoped, actually. We didn’t have a single mistake regarding traded picks all draft, so I think that demonstrated the feasibility of offseason trades fairly convincingly.

And as far as keeping up, while I did get behind a couple times, (mainly waiting for fix picks,) I found it fairly easy to stay on top of things. It was unreasonable to forcibly volunteer Mundi into tracking the errors, but it was a heat of the moment kind of thing. For the most part, we held it together. Also, posting the notifications didn’t seem to overwhelm the chat room, which was a concern of mine going in. They didn’t even really prevent me from chatting, which was very nice. Love the clipboard.

After a cursory glance at the rosters, the only two really major oversights is that somebody never drafted a kicker, (or maybe it was a defense,) and NOLA drafted Dominic Davis. Ha! Serves you right for snatching up Jacobs ONE LOUSY PICK ahead of me. I tried to get too cute with my surgical strike approach to player valuations and trading down. I shoulda taken him at 6.1 – as aI have him listed on my board – but I was nervous about getting Coles. Oh well, live and learn.

I missed the smack talk when you stole Jacobs, btw. I’m guessing it was something about Tiki being done after this year, so you’ll keep Jacobs next year in the fourth. I wouldn’t put it past you, you dirty rat bastard.

On preview: Yeah, I’m off to dreamland. It was fun.

Yeah, I felt horrible about it. I have no problem avoiding NY guys when there’s similar talent on the board, but Jacobs was easily a step above the rest of the RB’s, and I was dead set on taking a RB in that spot.

Also, I picked Davis on purpose in that spot, willing to lose a roster spot for a year to keep Davis with a 9th next year.

Actually, it wasn’t Davenport, it was someone else, and, for the life of me, I can’t remember who it was (I think it was LaDanian Tomlinson :stuck_out_tongue: ). I just went ahead and dropped Davenport (someone else had wanted him, not me), and picked up Buckhalter.

Thanks again, Ellis. The utility was a big help, and you cleaned up everything just fine.

NOLA knew about Davis, he was looking at keeper value and mentioned it.

Thanks again Ellis.

In review, I’d have to say that the draft went better than expected. As noted the trading worked out pretty well, which was a concern, if we’re able to get everyone to actually look at the keeper list before making picks it might have been a smooth process.

Got one last draft tonight and after that I’ll probably do a long rambling draft review and prediction.
