He Hate Me FF keeper league

mmmm, that doees look yummy. I can find Old Peculier Old Peculier at ABC liquors in South Florida (often, but not always) so I don’t think of it has terribly obscure. I don’t think anyone should be forced to extraordinary measures, so we can always declare an acceptable fall back beer when the time comes. It’s really the sweet nectar of victory that I will be savorinh, anyway.

At close to $20 a 4-pack it ought to be.

I think you need add a bottle of Old Crow to go with that.

My goal is to not actually draft a single player for my own team. I’m almost there.

I love it!! My own goal was to not have to draft anybody after round 12, but I couldn’t manage to swing that one.

Okay, thanks for the input folks. Cooley, Big Ben, and Travis Taylor will be my picks. I’m just not high at all on Burleson, and Travis moves up the depth chart via osmosis. Or was it Koren Robinson being a complete fucknut? Nah. Must have been osmosis.

$20

For that price it should drive me home afterward.

Let’s put a cap of $40 + shipping cost, beverage of the winner’s choice.

Here’s a suggestion, maybe we should send a package of the losers favorite local beer to the winner. Not much point in you paying for shipping to send a beer that I can walk down the street and nab.

Works for me. I’m always happy to discover a new beer.

Old Style it is!!!

Okay, here’s a data dump of the state of the league. Let me know if you spot any errors. (The trade log ignores keepers.) I’ll be sending a mass email with all your draft worksheets in a bit.

Should I have gotten that worksheet already? I didn’t.

Anyway, I was just doing a find-and-replace in excel to take all the kept players out of my master list, and after they had all been found and replaced I was reviewing what the available player list looked like. One of the guys on my list was just named “Ton.” Couldn’t figure out what the fuck I had done, until I realized it was T"Roy Williams"on. Yeah, that’s the whole story.

Never mind, I got it.

Speaking of which, Mundi raised a good point recently. Half of us aren’t even selecting our own keepers, since we traded our keeper picks down. That means that we should all put all the keepers on our yahoo exclude list, including our own.

And for that matter, for those of us who’ve made trades, the preranking is worthless. I went in to set it just now and was like, what the hell? Do I rank them by the picks I actually own, or the ones listed in yahoo? Too much of a headache to bother.

5 days, 12 hours 38 minutes and 14 seconds and counting…

Ellis - I got your email. Great stuff. I must thank you publicly and profusely for the amount of work you have put into keeping this thing running and managing all of the permutations of trades that we owners have ingeniously (diabolically?) collaborated upon. Kudos to you and your OCD.

I hereby appoint you, with neither debate nor possibility of refusal, He-Hate-Commissioner-for-Life.

Deal with it.

BTW – I am adding all keepers to my “do not draft list” pre-draft, then chaining myself to the computer at 10:15 Monday night. I humbly suggest that others plan to do the same. Sobriety optional but not recommended.

Holy crap, I go on SDMB-sabbatical for a month or so, and the whole damn league explodes. I had never seen an actual, agreed-upon draft pick trade in a league before until now. . .

First, great job, Ellis. If it were up to me to keep track of trades and keepers, the league would’ve disbanded weeks ago. This is most impressive.

Second, how are we going to keep this straight during the draft? I voted “yes” on draft pick trading because I never imagined there would be more than a couple of trades. Now, I’m not so sure I don’t want to change my vote.

I hereby predict that this will be the last year we allow draft pick trades, as the NFL is going to have to push back the start of the season just to give us enough time to straighten out all of Monday’s SNAFUs. Hope I’m wrong, though.

O Ye of little faith.

If all parties add all keepers to their “ignore” list, I think the number of SNAFU’s will be reduced significantly. Yes, the trade of draft picks adds (a lot) of complexity to the exercise, but thanks to Ellis we all have the information necessary to stay on top of it. The worst case scenario would be for one party of a trade to not show up on draft day. I think in that case we would have to trat it like we treated “oops” picks on keepers last year: the owner who got the “autodraft shaft” would reserve the rights to the player he wanted to select. The player actually taken would be up for grabs again through a scrubstitute pick (Todd Pinkston, anyone?)

It reads more complicated than it plays, but I think it won’t be any worse than what we had to clean up last year (remember the missing 16th round?)

Well, I’m glad somebody else said it.

Does that work? IIRC, last year the ignore list only affected those who were absent and drafting from a list; players on “ignore” still showed up on the list if you’re drafting manually.

Hoo-boy. I would suggest that someone (probably Ellis) should constantly announce the upcoming anomalies at the start of each round, and as the picks draw near, and that everyone scan the keeper list before every single pick they make.

Yes, it only applies to absentee drafters. We can manually draft anyone on our exclude list.
