He Hate Me Keeper League 2023 - year 21

The #1 team is dead last in points scored. I truly hate this league. :joy:

I just noticed this for the first time. Bleh. Sanders was starting for Carolina until an injury. Last week was his first game back so they may have been easing him in, but he has not been effective. I put that down to horrible OL play.

So…do we have any history of the commissioner overriding a waiver deadline in the case of a Thursday game? I’m stuck without a QB and I want to start Bagent who was just dropped today.

I dont tecall that, but we have allowed trades going through with Commish aid, so I wouldnt object at all.

I picked up Minshew and slotted him in. I sent @Wilson a DM but not sure how engaged he is on the boards. If the commish chimes in before kickoff and green lights it I’d definitely prefer Bagent going tonight over Minshew.

I’ll be at the game which adds a little sugar to watching Bagent.

I’m calling this a win.

Sorry, on vacation this week, wasn’t able to get in front of a computer till now.
I’m not sure that has ever come up - overriding the waiver deadline for a Thursday game. I’m not sure how I feel about that / would have felt about it. In my mind, it’s no different from someone who is dropped Friday/Saturday before their game on Sunday - they won’t clear waivers before the game.

If you want, we can poll managers to see what they think…

Honestly, I think having to wait for waivers is kind of what you just need to deal with in this league. However, I do think the waiver period should be a day shorter to account for Thursday night games. I don’t even know if a 24 hour waiver period is an option.

I’m with Munch - waivers are waivers. Apart from anything else, what do you do if there are competing claims and the one without priority doesn’t need an override?

It looks like waiver time is a league setting. I’d vote to move it to 24 hours next season.

Wow, the top 4 teams (and #6) all lose this week.

No one wants to run away with this thing, do they?

Its a weird year for sure.

I’ve never been so happy to have a tie on my record.

Thank you Zay Flowers for doing the selfish thing and getting a touchdown, when getting just a first down would’ve been enough to win the game.

The playoff race is extremely tight, with almost the whole league having 6-8 wins after this week, including 6 players with 7 wins. And a lot of the tiebreakers (points) are close enough that some people may overtake others next week.

Looks like there are a couple of scenarios where an 8-win team would get left out of the playoffs. I think there have been years where we’ve had more parity, but it’s been a really long time, and never with as much turmoil at the top.

My clear and easy path to the top six bracket:

Frosty loses to Carcosa Yellow Kings
Exploding Pancakes loses to Big Mack Attack
Go Cowboys Scotty loses to Chicago Cardinals
Hamlet doesn’t win AND outscore me by more than 2.2 points
Baltimore Weirdo’s doesn’t win AND oustcore me by more that 31.4 points
I beat Omniscient AND outscore Exploding Pancakes by 14.7 points or more AND outscore Frosty by 20.13 points or more

I think I’ve got that right… easy peasy!

Yeah, I’m not even going to try to figure out the playoff scenarios in this league, there are like a dozen moving parts for every one. It would actually be a cool feature for fantasy sites if they would do the math and describe all of the playoff scenarios in the league.

Just barely Fourth in Points For and dead last in Points Against, rough season
