He Hate Me Some Me FF Keeper League

I think you got the better of the deal by a good margin for this year, and most likely for the keeper period as well, though projecting RB carries 2 years out is like predicting how George W will parse a complex-compound sentence.

RNATB, the trade is the other way around. I drafted Mendenall, then swapped him for Cotchery straight-up.

:smack:

Good move, then!

I think Cotchery is a significantly better value than Mendenhall right now. However, when taken in the context of my overall lineup, specifically the over-the-top WR depth and lack of RB depth, it’s a very good tactical move in the long term. Of course the game Willie put up in Week 1 might mean it takes a little longer than I’d hope to equate.

Overheard at my house as Mark Clayton takes a reverse and runs 44 yards to the house:
“Go! GO! GO! Shit! I shoulda played Clayton at the flex!”

If I had I’d be down 12 with Driver left going into tonight, certainly eminently doable. As it is…Donald better have a career evening. :frowning:

I will fess up, I was drafting for next year. Having a championship under the belt from last year, I looked upon this as a rebuilding year. But, as has been mentioned, I screwed the pooch with Stewert at the turn. I actually mis-clicked on that one, and cringed.

This is a whoosh, right?

So, anyone realize something new about their team after Week 1? I know I fucking cringed when I looked at the box score for TB/NO: my boy Earnest Graham got all of 10 carries . . . and Warrick Dunn got 9. Shit. They cannot seriously be considering giving old man Dunn half the work. Hopefully he’ll average 2.5 YPC the first few weeks and they’ll wise up.

I also was somewhat relieved to see that Marvin Harrison was getting just as many looks from Peyton as Reggie Wayne, though he was acting as more of a possession receiver than I would have hoped.

Staying with the Colts, I realized that Dallas Clark may regress even more than I’d feared this year. Last year he was really a 3rd WR with all the injuries; this year, it looks like he’s an actual TE, albeit one who’ll get a decent number of touches.

That said, I’m not too worried about the Colts’ passing game in general. Peyton will shake off the rust by October, and the Bears Defense looked really good.

I’m pretty sure Gruden will see that Graham turned those 10 carries into 80 yards and decide to give it to him 20 times a game from now on. Heck, his yards per carry were significantly better than Garcia’s yards per attempt.

Clark was hardly on the field last night, so I’m not sure you can determine anything about him from that game. Plus, I think they’ll still have Clark out there over Gonzalez in their hybridish 3-wide set. Gonzalez is a decent wideout; Clark is a matchup nightmare.

I was aiming more for keepers this year than I was last year. Not a whoosh.

Okay… I was gonna say, I’m fielding a competitive team without keeping anyone.

Does anyone else wonder if the autodrafter knew something we didn’t?

Wilson drafted Matt Cassell and Matt Guitierrez.

Speaking as bucs fan - I realized Gruden is out of his freaking mind!! graham averaged 9 yards per carry. Dunn averaged 6 yards per carry. Together they got less than 20 carries while garcia threw the ball 41 times! Thsi while never more than a single score behind, and in the lead frequently. That’s just insane!

What happened to the man who ran the wheels of his shiny new Cadillac?

Oh - my fantasy team? I leanred that if Braylon edwarsd doesn;t remember how to catch teh ball soon it will be a long season for me. And I learned that apparently Bill Bellicheck doesn’t share the universal wisdom that Sammy morris will get you killed and should never come off the bench.

Omni, prepare to die.

So, I had arguably the best paper draft, then went out in Week 1 and creamed everybody… and promptly lost five straight games.

Still, I’ve won two straight since then, so I’m only two games out of a playoff berth, and Willie Parker is finally getting healthy.

This season has NOT gone as I expected.

Cross-posted from the League’s Yahoo page due to the looming trade deadline (Friday):

*Should’ve started this sooner, but I’m putting Philip Rivers (this season’s #1 fantasy QB) up for trade. I’m especially looking for an upgrade at WR, but a RB upgrade or even a very good keeper will also be considered and is definitely worth offering if you’re interested in a big QB upgrade for the home stretch.

Trade deadline is tomorrow, so act quick.*

While we’re on the subject, my entire team is up for sale. I’ve won 4 in a row but I see that run coming to an abrupt end soon, so it’s time to start stockpiling keepable players.

Wilson asked whether or not you can keep two players in the same round. We actually hashed this out in detail a couple seasons back; I can cite the conversation if necessary.

Keeping two players in the same round is perfectly fine. You’ll probably want to trade so that you end up with two low picks in that round.

For any player you want to keep in a round where you have no pick available, you have to spend a better round pick on that keeper. So if you’re keeping two guys in the 12th and you do no trades, you’ll need to spend an 11th on one of them.

This could also apply even if you don’t have multiple keepers, like for instance if you trade away all your picks from a round where you wanted to keep a guy.

I haven’t been able to be around as much this season, but I am trying to stay on top of things.

I’m planning on retro-activating the trade between Omni and Varloz if it goes through because it’s a weird situation. Part of the deal is a WR for a WR: Omni gives Roddy White who plays Sunday, VarlosZ gives Cotchery who played last night.

Both receivers are listed as starters. The weirdness comes in if the trade is accepted, which is scheduled to happen on Saturday. Omni would then lose his starting receiver, but he can’t replace him with Cotchery because Cotchery already played.

So if the deal goes through, I’m going to backdate the starting lineups to reflect Cotchery starting for Omni and White starting for VarlosZ. If the deal gets voted down, no harm no foul.

This is a no-brainer because Omni and VarlosZ happen to be matched up against each other this week, so it won’t effect anyone else’s matchup.

Feel free to voice any objections here.

How do we vote against trades, anyway? I felt that that one was a little one sided but I didn’t see clickable vote thingy.
