Literally. It’s a high flying week, we’ll it has been so far but now the bad weather is coming in.
::Waves at Midget:: Can’t you do anything for your visitors to St. Jean? The 4 of us are up & taking turns in the bathroom before heading out for the field for this morning’s launch.
A unique band of fog rolled in during the flight yesterday making for a very unique flight as we hat two worlds; above & below. Photos to come when I get them uploaded.
So why is your head in the clouds?
My head is not so much in the clouds as it’s cloudy. Interrupted sleep does that to me. I may go back to bed after eating breakfast… or not… TBD.
Sometime before Thursday (when the chimney cleaner comes) I need to clean the pellet stove. That means dragging the shop vac upstairs. Dragging said vac will be the easiest part of the chore. I also need to find an old sheet to spread out while I’m doing the cleaning. It’s a very messy endeavor.
I’m going to run to Food Lion today and get some ground beef and build some meatloaves. One will be tonight’s supper, and the rest will go in the freezer for future suppers. While in Leonardtown, I’m going to mosey over to the college and get some info about restarting our gym membership. If I’m reading the catalog correctly, our membership would entitle us to take certain classes for free, so I want to find that out for sure.
The only other big plan for the day is to strip the bed. I’ve already loaded the dishwasher with yesterday’s dirties - go me!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93, clear and hawt for the day. We may have some “significant weather” tomorrow afternoon/evenin’. Apparently we may have severe tstorms/apocalypse then.
The only time my haid is in the clouds is when I’m in an airplane. Spidey that sounds like a ton o’fun. Enjoy!
Plans for today include irk. We’re thinkin’ dindin will be the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. Or sammiches. It’s all up in the air (HEH!) right now.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
I’m still up since my bladder woke me at 4:30.
It’s just starting to get light outside.
I needed to get up early anyway, today we go to the college since we didn’t go last week. He wants me to go in with him, I don’t think I should. He handled the financial aid department all by himself, accepted the grant and turned down the loans. He doesn’t need the loans since he has no housing costs.
I have no idea how this Pell Grant stuff works. I know the college has the money and will take it directly for tuition, but do we pay for the books upfront and wait for a check or does the money come directly out of the grant? Does the college keep track of what has been spent?
I probably should go in with him, I have lots of questions, but damn he has to learn to do this stuff himself. I know he is not going to be happy when he finds out that most of the classes he wanted to take online are full. I told him we needed to do this sooner.
He’ll learn.
My head in the clouds?
I’m so bogged down with real life bs my head is barely showing.
Get through this college stuff, the finish up the trust stuff, then there is the refinance stuff, the oil change/tire rotation stuff, kill a few people who need killing stuff
then maybe I can take a breath and do some cloud stuff.
I’m driving home from vacation today, so my head will actaully be in the clouds when we drive through the mountains. Hopefully Gordie isn’t too angry. Bobbbio, I don’t know about the Batcave, but the Bat building is here in Nashville.
I’m off today! Big plans include making bean soup, getting a new pot in a last-ditch effort to Save the Violet,* and generalized frittering away the day.
*I took a cutting last night. My poor violet has joined the “Leaves up! Don’t shoot!” movement and it’s making me sad.
My attempt at grabbing a few extra *zzzz *was thwarted by a certain canine who wouldn’t just lie down and snooze. So I’m showered, dressed, and presentable. The bed is stripped and the linens and towels have been flung down the stairs - I’ll take them to the laundry room later.
**FCD **called while I was in the shower to ask me to buy some ibuprofen. I need to write it down or I’ll forget. The rain seems to have stopped, so I’m going to head out on my errands. Might as well, since I won’t be getting extra zzzzzz. Stoopit dog.
Decongestants. Still having trouble with my inner ears and the doc suggested trying a different OTC than I usually use to see if that breaks it up - Mucinex DM. But for some reason either it or the congestion is giving me a sort of stoned feeling. :smack: Flytrap – you got it!!!
On the irk front I start re-training Thursday; actually looking forward to getting back. Summer was fun and profitable but getting into a routine again will really be welcome.
Apparently the guy who owns the upholstery place isn’t as antsy as **FCD **suggested to hire someone. I left a message a week ago and have heard nothing. Considering how long it took him to finish FCD’s bike seat, I’m thinking he might be a bit of a flake. I don’t need that. Maybe I’ll look for work elsewhere…
Errands run - for some stupid reason, I can’t sign up for the gym membership starting in Sept - it’s listed in the catalog but not available on line yet. I’d call, but I suspect I’d die on hold. Better to build a meatloaf - at least then I know I’ll accomplish something.
Madwater, (I don’t know what your MMP-name is, so I’ll wing it), glad to see you in such fine spirits for a Monday, but What?!?!?! I iz confused.
Seanette, hope you get to feeling better. Having both major orifices demanding attention is no fun. Rest and recuperate.
Head was above the clouds on Firday and Sunday, flying Nashville-Cleveland courtesty of Southwest. Had a good day back in the area I was born and raised in, unfortunately all the relatives I could go see are only to be seen in various cemetaries (one of the prices of getting older). But enjoyed the 50th Anniversary of HS Soccer (class of 1971 here) and played in the Alumni game with lots of much younger folk (albeit it was only for 5 minutes and I’m still sore) and got to see my old coach (who at 83 looks lot better than I do at 62).
Then came to irk and found out that my branch chief was out and his designated sub was in class, and her sub was in trainings, so…acting Branch Chief for 2 days (it was my month in July, dammit!! I was supposed to get 4 months off!!).
So head is far distant from the clouds today. Wish I could bury it in the sand.
I’m in Montreal, and I don’t really have a way to get to St-Jean, being a bit too cowardly to drive on the highways, but let me know if you’re visiting Montreal.
My head is always in the clouds. It’s the customary place for my head to be.
Back from the college. Everything is done, except getting his books and we can do that online.
He got all his classes online so he is happy. He can take the math next semester and get in early enough to take it online.
Weird class schedule to me though, English Composition, Introduction to Visual Arts, Music Appreciation, and World Geography.
It’s nice and cool outside. I actually got chilly in the truck waiting for him and had to roll up the windows. It’s starting to rain too.
We got lunch at Sonic, now I’m stuffed.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me with this done.
