I didn’t date until late in high school, and even then it wasn’t too often. If guys had only known how far they could have gotten with the traditional candy and flowers. Even with my (ex) husband there was not a lot of “romance”
**
kopek**, I saw yoour post in last weeks thread about watching old horror films. Did you ever check out Beast from the Haunted Cave? I saw it as a kid, on TV, and it scared the crap out of me.
Super-simple supper - I got a couple of big russets, baked 'em, and we loaded 'em with butter, sour cream, onion, cheese, and bacon (OK, I didn’t have the bacon, but I had the rest.) Quite yum. The dishwasher is sloshing along. I think I’ll assume the afghaning position.
We supped upon shrimp 'n grits and asparagus. YUM! I was productive today and cleaned da cave and did two loads of laundry. Go Me! I will buy some cheap chawklit on Thursday. I do observe Lent but there’s no need to be a martyr.
I like Valentine’s day, much like other holidays. I’m a bit of a holidork, so, yes, I send valentines to my family. I also made some for my cow-orkers this year with the candy and silk flowers that I received in a surprise box a week ago. As far as chawklit goes, I have to ration chocolate, but no longer have to worry about breaking the lenten restrictions (that means that St. Pat’s is much more fun too
).
The left side was totally plugged up. He also used balloon sinoplasty to open the natural openings of the ethmoids and frontals. Just cleaned up everything.
you know if and when I go to the doctors I’m going to complain on why my nose is stopped up all the time … to the point I cant smell much unless its really pungent or I’m on top of it … as for my day well its good I got my medical insurance back bad news is I’m going to raise some hell tomorrow … and I have to get my 400 back from the state thanks to my papers getting lost …
I was expected, but did not comply, to send valentines to Mama Plant. Valentines are sent to women you have a romantic interest in, not relatives.
I asked Mrs. White if she wanted to go to dinner for VD, I got the non-committal, “What-ever-you-want-to-do”, so after 25+ years of marriage, I better get busy on reservations tomorrow…
On a kinda sad note, it is the 16th anniversary of my father’s passing, all my boys called me and their grandmother to see how we are doing, it means a lot, especially to my Mom…
Worked, came home. Beer.
Anesthesia can really do a number on you.
It’s about redemptive suffering. So we have to spend extra time with Flytrap. ![]()
Ahhhhhh, the old Brillo-Pad-Sea-Monster; I know it well. Don’t know if I have my own copy and I’m awake with a foot cramp so I won’t look right now but its one of those so-bad-its-good guilty pleasures. If you liked that one be sure to catch The Horror of Party Beach with the Hot-Dog-Eating-Sea-Monsters — another classic.
As long term Mumpers may recall the OW and I used to go to this one ginmill dive we loved every Monday for bad movies. Regulars took terms trying to out-do each other and the owners projected them onto a wall. From newer stuff like Cabin Boy to the old standards like Plan 9 From Outer Space, we showed them all. And I hate to admit it but our personal library of such treasures is probably around 1000 or more. My cousins have been informed of the largess which we will be leaving them with a suggestion that they take a couple boxes to the funeral home when the last of us checks out -------- and have everyone who visits pick out one as a souvenir of sorts. It beats trying to find a store interesting in such a load of ---------- DVDs. ![]()
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 66 and cloudy for the day. I shall go see Miss Becky this mornin’ as I haven’t done that in a couple of weeks. I have some Hershey’s Kisses [sup]TM[/sup] to take to her as they are her favorites. I must also needs do a couple more loads of laundry. This evenin’ I shall head over to the church house to cook bacon (fully clothed thankyewverymuch) for the Shrove Tuesday pancake doin’s. This is also a fundraiser for our Deacon’s discretionary fund so there will be a silent auction and folks are asked to donate whatever they can for all one can eat pancakes, bacon, and snausage. Always a good time.
Ruble that would be like party favors at a funeral. I like the idea!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify bein’ as I am to be about the public.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Good morning! I thought I’d slept well, but it was a struggle keeping my eyes open during the drive to work. I made it alive, and I’m caffeinating - so it should be OK.
I came in to an email asking about a drawing I supposedly revised back in June. our Configuration Manager needs to finish up with that particular project and I need to figure out what the heck she’s asking about. I don’t even recognize the project code - chances are it was something I did in error. Hope I can figure it out…
Cold day ahead - hoping it’s a last gasp of winter and we start seeing more mild days. Yeah, I know -dream on…
Happy Tuesday!!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Clsoing shift tonight. Watching the USA/OAR wone’s hockey game.
Don’t do that. You won’t get to see the [del]agony[/del] joy it brings to the viewers of said videos. Why don’t you give some away while you’re still alive. Hmmm, who has time to watch hundreds of movies? Why our retirees, Swamp/Rat do!
Was out walking down the street in the neighborhoods last night whilst talking on the phone. Some guy lets his punt out before bedtime to do it’s business. The thing runs to near the edge of the property & starts violently [del]barking[/del] yip-yapping at me. Then it runs into the street & jumps on the back of my leg…twice. Had it jumped on the front, said punt would be able to stick it’s haid out the window of a certain Tesla roadster driven by Spaceman.
Don’t get me into this-I’m a Nice Jewish Boy.
Blurf.
I need to journey to the store as I don’t have the necessary junk food to sustain me through my day of TV watching and slothfulness.
44F here, going into the mid-50’s with rain on the menu for Wednesday.
My left hand, which I fell on last Moanday is still somewhat swollen and sore, so I might even go see the doctor about it. It’s about 90% functional and doesn’t hurt all the time, so I don’t think it’s broken, but guess maybe I ought to get it checked out.
Otherwise not much activity planned. Put out a couple of bags of stuff for Purple Heart to pick up.
Happy Toosday!
It’s cold outside. Ir was 23 when I put the pup out, now it’s up tp 32.
At least the sun is shining, the sun always make me feel better - less tired.
I almost overslept this morning.
No matter what I do I wake up in the middle of the night. I should force myself to go without a nap, but I know from past experience even that doesn’t help.
I made the mistake of letting the cat out this morning before bringing the dog in.
Everytime I got the dog to the door to come in the cat would run past him and the chase would be on.
Today I’ll pull all of the meat I bought yesterday out of the fridge and decide what to cook and what to freeze.
I found a recipe for oven roasted chicken and cabbage I might try.
Yes; I shall be trying extra hard not to stab people this week.
