Hearts and Flowers in the MMP

Extra young priest I think.

Supper was good but I hit a wall and got puny again. I did a lot today.

Probably moreso with my son earlier, since he was the one with the dust mop, and cleaning the coils.
I think the dog is bored. He goes from toy to toy, plays fetch for about three throws of the squeaky toy, then he pays tugowar for a few minutes, then he chews on my toes for a bit(OUCH!), then he tries to grab something off my desk, then he looks for the cat, then he grabs another toy. In between he walks around the house and you can tell he is looking for something to get into. We got a new trash can with a lid and my son caught him trying to lift the lid the other day.
It’s not like we don’t play with him, it’s that he is so easily bored and he always wants something new to play with.

I have to find something to do with him.
He’s so proud of himself when he gets the mail, he needs another job.
His breeder recommends we don’t use the dog park, but I am going to think about it. Maybe during the day when it isn’t as busy.

Red my mastiff loved bananas, it was the only time he’d get into the trash for something. Ripple likes them, and he is quite fond of tissues, expecially used ones - and paper towels.

Plumbers were here, made the hole in the wall a bit bigger and removed a little concrete, then told me they’d be back tomorrow with the equipment they now knew they needed (or they had another appointment they had to keep). Either way, it’s going to cost about $2,000, but since I have a $1,500 deductible on my homeowners insurance, it might not be worth turning in to the company. We’ll see what getting the drywall replaced and the carpet checked out will run.

Otherwise nothing too exciting. Paid some bills, checked my account balance (it balanced), and bought some bread at the store. With rain forecast tomorrow, best be prepared.

Sari what’s wrong with using the dog park? He must be old enough by now. I think dog parks are awesome, and they make for tired, happy pups.

I had a hotdog today at my favorite place, it will be the last until after Easter because I give up meat for Lent.:frowning:

I know it’s not a requirement, it’s actually a voluntary spiritual exercise. Every time I want that burger, or chicken, or whatever, I’m reminded of the greater sacrifice that was made for me. But those chicken tenders we have at work, or the chicken fried steak, or the chili, are SO tempting.

I’m also giving up soda drinks. Maybe I’ll lose a little weight.

Satay is used on chicken, peanut butter and coconut milk. I like it.
This recipe doesn’t use coconut milk, but it is the first one I found.

flytrap, maybe that was what my roommate was making. She has this service that sends her ingredients and recipes to make.

missred, my cat likes to chew kleenex. Sometimes she’ll find one on the floor and chew it. And one time a kleenex box got left on the floor, and the kleenex coming out of the top was chewed up.

sari, if Ripple is up to date on his shots, the dog park will help socialize him and burn off puppy energy. Don’t wait until there’s no one else there either. If you go when there are other dogs there (especially young ones), he’ll have somebody to play tag with. When we go, most of the time, Nelson’s asleep before we get to the stoplight half a mile from the park when we leave. There are regulars and, on the small dog side, pups that will be on the big dog side once they get bigger. He’ll come to realize that other people can pet him and you can pet other dogs too. Nelson gets a bit of cabin fever when we go more than a week without going.

Do you ladies cook for each other, or for yourselves?

Sunny and Red
I think in some ways this breeder is overly cautious.

Shar pei were bred originally as working farm dogs, and for hunting boar. They should be tough and fearless. They were also used for fighting at one time, that is why they have small ears, curled tails, loose skin, and prickly fur. They can be dog aggressive, but I found out recently online that they can trigger aggression in other dogs. I always wondered because Mackie was the most laid back non-aggressive dog, yet two of my niece’s pitbulls walked into my mother’s house, took one look at him, and attacked him. Two different dogs, two different incidents. The HFH’s spaniel walked into the house and attacked him. Mackie was doing nothing, just standing there and not very aware either because he was already going blind and deaf.

The article I read said it is thought that because a shar pei’s fur stands up and they have the extra skin around the neck and over the withers, that it looks like their hackles are up and they are ready for a fight.

I should ask the breeder why she doesn’t recommend them.
I think I’ll cal her tomorrow, or send an email, and ask why she doesn’t like them.

I knew about the fish on Friday thing (although I thought that was just Catholics), but didn’t know about Wednesdays.

I also did not know until a call I took late today that a physical object taking time to travel via postal mail was like a zombie apocalypse. I told the girl at the next desk I wished that guy would share some of the obviously quite interesting drugs he was on.

Like the article says, you need a better butcher. Mebbe you can ask Betty Botter for a recommendation for a better butcher.

Well, there were two boxes of chocolate in the shipping box. I aximadentally destroyed the shipping box when I opened it to take out the V-Day box, so I’ll just eat the other chocolates & think of you on Firday; howzaboutdat?

You had breakfast for dinner, but does anyone ever do dinner for breakfast?
Midget, I do a really good peanut sauced stir fry sometimes. I use spicy PB as a base for it to give it some bite.
BTW, they have some great peanut butters; my favorite is Dark Chocolate Dreams. I’m not a fan of chocolate & PB usually, but this I will eat a spoonful right from the jar. Full disclosure: They sponsored our team one year, which is how I learned of them but I no longer have any affiliation w/ them.

Maybe agility?

I’m trying to get my boy into that. Go over the jump, walk the teeter, get lots of praise and snacks…

I saw a pug compete in the ability trials, I bet a sharpie would do great. And even if he sucks but it eats up some of the play/job drive then win/win!

While he’s still a puppy is the best time to try it, while other dogs still give him a puppy pass. One way to do it under supervision, and it’s free, is to look for a PetCo or PetSmart. They have “puppy playtime” on their dog training calendar. No cost, a trainer is there, and it’s all puppies.

Genetics and my doctors would take the odds. And if I do make it past that and another format comes along, I may just replace them all on that -------- so there!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and cloudy for the day. The biggest thing on the agenda today is to attend Ash Wednesday service at noon over to the church house. OYKW is also goin’ at noon. The noon service is the Whiskypalian service and the six o’clock service will be Luterun. We shall sup upon grilled salmon, peas 'n carrots, and squish tonight.

Nettie I actually don’t have to give up anything if’n I don’t want to do so. It is traditional to not eat meat on Firdays durin’ Lent. We throw in Wednesday just cause. I am not as dedicated as CupCakes with the givin’ up of meat. I am weak-willed and too much of a carnivore. OYKW and I add a daily devotional durin’ Lent that incorporates the use of Anglican Prayer Beads.

Our new Priest is even younger than our last Priest whom I called YP for Young Priest. So I’ve been callin’ Fr. Nick Even Younger Priest (EYP). I know just sayin’ Fr. Nick would be easier but why take the easy way out when one can complicate matters right?

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, well, onward into the day!

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Happy Valentine’s Day! A blessed and Holy Lent to those that observe.

Uo, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

It’s Ash Wednesday and St. Valentine’s Day, so I guess buy a chocolate bunny for your SO and behead it in front of them?

Pizza for breakfast - DUH!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Had a terrible time falling asleep last night, so I’m dragging now. I fear it’s gonna be a *loooooooong *day. I couldn’t turn my brain off last night, thinking about the impending grandbaby. Rotten kid is affecting my sleep already!

Whatevah! Happy V.D., all!!

:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

Happy VD? Pffft.

Happy First Day of Spring!!!
(Pitchers & catchers report today)
However, if you are looking for a nice VD dinner tonight, one can do liver, fava beans, & a nice kee-ant-ee. (It’s 27 yo today)
