Worked, came home. My store switched from Rite-Aid to Walgreens today , and the worst hang up was some old lady screaming at me because we weren’t giving away roses. And apparently the screaming lady has a thing for me.:dubious:
sari, take Ripple to the dog park. Even Gordie des well at the park.
Metal Mouse, still no water?
And the Canadian Women’s team beats the USA team, 2-1.
red glad the sugar is right again. And puppy snuggles rock.
Bumba ,Maggie Wonderbeagle used to sleephowl.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 76 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No real big plans for the day. I should iron the shirts that are hangin’ in the laundry room. I’m sure Netflix could entertain me whilst I ahrn so maybe I’ll get that accomplished. I shall also make some veggie soup in the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig slow cooker. That will be tomorrow’s suppage plus some for da freezer. Majik intartoobz pizza and sallit shall be supped upon tonight.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, onward into the day! Rah!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Woke up about 4am, guess FCM’s wake-up issue is contagious.
Still no water, doggio. They had to pull out the vanity and sinks from the wall to get to the pipe yesterday and drill down into the slab, but they found it and fixed it. They could have capped the open pipes and given me water last night but I’d rather they finish up the job today.
Problem is I need to get a drywall-sheetrock guy to come in to fix my walls, and if they put the vanity back in, it’ll have to be dragged out again to do that repair, which means more plumbing work…it is a puzzlement, and I’ll talk to the guys about it this morning. Meanwhile have a sheetrock contractor coming by Firday to give me an estimate.
Ain’t homeowning grand?
Rained nearly all of yesterday, but it will get up to 70F today. Then will rain again on Firday. Lucky me.
All y’all take care. Need to go put the garbage out while I’m thinking about it…squirrel!!
I slept with Mel last night, and it would have been perfect, but I woke at some point with a gawd-awful leg cramp. No amount of flexing or changing position helped, so I had to get up and walk around. When it finally subsided, I re-crashed till shortly before my alarm sounded. Much needed sleepage!
We could get close to 70° today, then Saturday’s high *might *hit 40. There’s talk of a possible wintry mix on Sat evening, so I’m going up to Mom’s early and I’ll try to get home before any crap starts. I don’t worry about driving as much as I worry about other drivers. Too many idiots out there…
Meanwhile, I have a metric ass-load of stuff to do. Another busy day. Happy Thursday!!
Well the quick reply box is back to its usual position. For whatever reason last night you actually had to click the arrow to see it and on some pages it wouldn’t show even then. I blame it all on those damn Olympic athletes from Russia we’re not supposed to think of as the Russian team ------- damn commie bastids.
Blurfage. Another day of healing and sloth. It’s back to Miami tomorrow for a follow up doctor appointment.
I guess I will watch the Olympics again today.
I am finding team luge fascinating. And I have now seen more curling than I have in all the other Olympics I’ve seen combined. Watching overnight and in the morning may be part of it or NBCs producers could just be drinking heavily.
30s again. More maybe rain, maybe sun, was that snow?, for the next few days. The cold and flu season has been heck on the kiddos. Believe me, you haven’t lived until an autistic kid has told you all about his stomach problems.
Not much planned other than laundry today. C’mon weekend!
Happy Thorsday!
It is a glorious 64 degrees outside, I am thinking of opening the windows for a bit.
I sat outside with the critters for a while, they both love it when I sit outside with them. Ripple came in and crashed on the floor.
Now the cat is acting weird.
I tried to roll over last night and wondered what that lump was behind me and it was Adam. He has never slept with me in all the time I have had him. He’s been pretty demanding of attention too. Yesterday he came charging out of nowhere to where I was sitting and got up on his hind legs and reached up for me to pet him. Normally he kind of just strolls over, sits down, and if I don’t pet him quickly enough he whacks me with his claws.
Fairly productive morning, the dishwasher has run, there’s a load of clothes in the dryer and a blanket in the washer. I’ve done some banking since tomorrow is pay day. I have a few more bills to pay.
I need to start my taxes so I can get the FAFSA done but I think that can wait until Saturday when I don’t have to irk.
Other than that SSDD
Howdy Y’all! I have ahrned shirts and have a biiiiiiiiiig slow cooker full of veggie soup that smells sooooooooo good! It’s on the back porch where I have a big table beside an outlet which is a great spot to put things like a biiiiiiiiiiig slow cooker. Otherwise I’d have to move things around on the kitchen counter to accommodate. 'Tis 72 degrees out so I have windows open. The sun has even showed itself today.
Sari critters be weird.
Evenin’ all.
Irk experience now completed. It was a mix fun, interesting, damn hard work, and just plain boring. Not sorry it’s over, but it’s going to feel odd going back to normal skool on Moanday.
I’m planning on a fun weekend anyway; I’m off up to Bristol for the weekend, for a juggling thing and to meet up with a bunch of folks I haven’t seen since I moved. If things go mostly to plan, it should be fun. I’m confused though, everyone I asked if they’d like to meet up independently came up with extremely convenient suggestions for time and place (like, I want to visit a particular shop, a friend suggests meeting up right round the corner). It all feels too easy…
I just looked it up 'cause I was gonna link it, but didn’t.
It says they use .22LR now. (I don’t know about that).
I imagine it’s special ammo that would bounce off the noses of bunny rabbits.
When they did a story on the biathlon many years ago they said they used specially made .22 shorts. About as powerful as a duck fart.
I suppose it makes sense though. If something went sideways, a more powerful round could do some serious damage to a spectator. Not that .22LR shouldn’t be taken seriously.
I withdraw my complaint.
Big plans for today include, but are not limited to, writing a couple of checks to my insurance company and the credit onion from which I long ago obtained a credit card.
Also I need to decide what to make for dinner, in case it involves taking something out of the freezer. ![]()
My lie is just a whirlwind of excitement!
We have ingested comestibles and are now in chill mode. OYKW is preparin’ himself a bath. He does like to soak in the tub he does! Veggie soup is now in containers. One in da fridge for tomorrow and the rest in da freezer for later consumption. Plus there’s ice cream to be eaten. Life is good.
Weird suppage tonight. **FCD **had a brat and french toast. I had a bowl of corn chex and an apple. Ice cream later.
Yay for the impending 3-day weekeknd!
FCD ate a child?
swampy, do you have a Lenten Friday meal rotation? My mom always did back when every Friday was a no meat thing and waaaaay far back when all of Lent was. There was tuna noodle casserole, mac and cheese, fried fish, cheese stuffed shells, omlets and us kids’ favorite, cheese pizza.
I wound up putting out fires that began in my absence yesterday. I swear, sometimes I’m riding herd on the kiddie corral. I also took my recertification test for the forklift. I would have had to do that next month anyway. The other upside was attention being focused upon the situation that caused it.
Supper was leftover chicken and rice and a nice garden salad to clean out the vegetaton in the fridge. Burp!
Euthanasia medicines were found in Gravy train doggie food. The article I read also listed off treats and kitty food that are made by the same company. No gravy train in the house, but we have pup-eroni and Meow mix.
Damnit I am broke.
We have seen A LOT of curling too! The news just had a piece on a curling club somewhat local, and they started off with “you may not be familiar with curling…” YES WE ARE. TRUST ME.
The rat’s water problems abide. I’m wondering when I’ll ever bathe again.
The good news was that they found the leak and fixed it. The bad news is that they found a second leak that required more drilling into the slab and more parts and labor (they’ll be back tomorrow), so cost is now about 50% higher than estimated. Fortunately the drywall repair is fairly cheap, it appears. Next week I can start thinking about the carpet (completely dried now, but is there mold in the future?). Pretty much stuck around the house all day.
This homeowning thing can be a real pain at times.
