Mornin’ all.
Rebo & Beebs I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better.
Ugh on the fires VBob
Ugh on TH, Rigs. I also did not like living in Allston. Brookline, which also borders BU, is much better a neighborhood.
Good Luck on the Bid, Pie
Rainbow lady was disturbing. And the message at the end!! LOL I will admit I was scared to view her other videos…
Morning, all. <yawn> I’m glad folks are feeling better. Me, I’m feeling like I got run over by a freight train, but I’ll survive. At least it’s a cool, pretty day.
Fingers crossed on the bid, Pie!
I got not much else this morning except two stupid dogs and a great big pile of work, so I’d better get back to it. Ta for now!
Hmm. Oh, God, please make the damn streetcleaning thing that’s decided to sit around right next to our place with it motor running go away. I just put the baby down for a nap. Thanks.
Assuming he ever goes to sleep, we’re running errands which I actually can’t remember after this nap. I think we need lettuce. And cat food. I dunno.
Yikes, beebs! I lived in Allston back in the early '70s on Royce Road (which we affectionately renamed Dog Shit Alley). I just googled it and got the street view to work. Talk about a blast from the past.
Yay! The galless rebo is back! Glad you are doing so well!
Hey, maybe the rainbow lady just got new glasses… Nah, she’s just trippin’
bobbio, let me get this straight. You actually want a hurricane???
Again, nothing much happening around here. That’s a good thing.
Tupug
Well, I’ll settle for a tropical storm that dumps 6 inches of rain on us. It’s the only way to put out once and for all the burning peat in the swamps.
Anyone have experience with babies and train trips? It look like we’ll be going to Niagara-on-the-lake (not Napanee) on the weekend of July 18th. You don’t have to pay for kids under two, but what the heck do you do with them? You pay for specific seats. If I’m not including the kid, do we stow his carseat and sit him on our laps for the hour and a half? What a joy for all concerned.
Um…the midwest has a lot of extra water they could donate to your cause.
I want to make fajita chicken pasta for dinner tonight, but I don’t have a recipe. I’ve got chicken marinading in lemon juice, oil, chili powder, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper; a yellow pepper; and a red onion. I’m thinking cook (grill? It makes less mess than using a pan.)the chicken and saute the peppers and onion. And cook some pasta. Then what should I add to bring it all together? Oh, I’ve got cilantro too that I’ll add at the very end. What else? All the great Mumper cooks must have some ideas!
I think I may have finally found a cleaning lady! I only want someone to come by once a month to do all the stuff that we not only hate to do, but that we just don’t do like dusting. Bleh. Who wants to spend time dusting?? Or scrubbing the tub/shower. Major Bleh. So one of my coworkers just recommended her recently-acquired cleaning lady so I’m going to try her out. Yay for getting out of (some) house cleaning!
Yes, I realize the what Six Sigma does, but I do not see the need for fifty friggin’ toll-gates to get there. It’s assinine. I have been through Yellow Belt training :rolleyes, and while I couldn’t tell you every step right now (yes, that’s how impressed I was), I do know there are far too many steps involved. Simple problems shouldn’t require this. Perhaps more complex problems, but not most of the problems encountered. People make things more complicated than they need to make them.
I want a tropical storm to come around and dump about ten inches of rain myself. We need it that bad. A nice tropical depression that does the same thing would be good too.
I’m hongry! I don’t wanna make anything though and I’m not seein’ ol’ y’all know who tonight
so no talkin’ him into takin’ me to dindin. Maybe I’ll go up the street to the subway and get a sammich. Hmmmmmmm… that sounds good.
Ok back later after I eat.
Four down, one to go, woo hoo!
Gentle hugs for Soapy; so sorry that your Mac is kaput.
More later … hope everyone enjoys the new Feud, btw–it’s all for fun, remember.

{{{Ivory}}} – hope things work out!
Oh, and don’t believe **VBob **-- he talks like that to all the girls here!
:: (pointedly avoids looking in any mirrors) ::
Sorry about the 'puter, Soapy. Hope stepson’s Macbook can save the day.
Our state government has apparently deemed Kaizen to be our next process improvement initiative. Is this the beginning of a retro-wave or just a rehash? Everything I know about it so far I learned from the Wikipedia article in the link.
Hi SO!
TH needs to get a clue, rigs. Hugs.
I would imagine babies on trains would be more comfortable than babies on planes, LiLi, because you don’t have the take-off and landing that might not agree with his ears and because it’s probably easier to stand up and walk around with him (no seat belt lights to obey, that I’ve ever experienced, anyway). And, depending on how full it is, you may be able to use an empty seat near you for him.
Off to find the new Feud and then to make more phone calls.
Back later, I hope.
GT
Yay, Rebo!! How many scars ya got? I had 4, but 2 are all but invisible. Somewhere I’ve got a photo with arrows pointing out the scars on my belleh - very artistical!
{{Soapy}}
**rigs ** - you seem to be getting more than your share of doo-doo these days. Sure hope your life settles down soon.
We had thunder booming but I think only about 13 drops of rain fell. From the looks of the weather radar, that’s it for tonight. Which is fine - we got a buncha rain last night. The ground needs to dry a bit.
Looks like some time next week, I’ll be moving to another office to join my new team. That means a new phone number… again. I’m guessing this’ll be the 9th or 10th desk I’ve had in the last 4 years. Plus this office is on the 2nd floor, so I’ll be getting a daily workout, since I refuse to use the elevator. woo and hoo.
Hugs all around. Butt pinches here and there.
Glad tomorrow is Firday.
Ah, Kaizen! The folks at that roundtable also mentioned that. Apparently it’s the newest thing. (Where’s that pukey smiley?) They were just a treasure trove of current industry problem-solving crapola. Thank Og I finally finished it, I was on the point of gagging at least twice per page!
Traveling by trains with kids can be a lot of fun, LiLi. Best is if you find a grandma, who then proceeds to entertain your little guy virtually the entire trip while you relax and watch. My mother has done that several times on train trips. And when Gnat starts running around, train travel is even better because he can run up and down the car without any problems. It is so much nicer than traveling by car or plane!
{{Soapy}} 'Puters always pick the worst possible time to die, don’t they? Good luck getting everything done on the substitute 'puter.
We don’t want a tropical storm or a tropical depression, please. So you guys who do want it, keep it down south of us, would you please?
Where’s mine? :dubious:
<pinch>Vunderbob<pinch>
There you go!
Well, since you asked… <pinch>
“I have had it with these %*&#@%^#* babies on this %*&#@%^#* plane!”
Sorry. I just could not resist.
Oh and Mindude AKA Mork has posted a thread. I trust this means an appearance is forthcoming? :dubious:
