If anybody needs a mouser (such as our Spaz, who must have more mice lurking), may I recomment MamaTigs’s Emily. She’s quite the hunter. And in a house with mice, that is a Good Thing! As horrible as it is to find mouse parts deposited in front of the bedroom door, at least you know you have one less mouse in the house!
Dangit, I want a kitty! But I have to wait another month or two for financial reasons. It’s annoying being a responsible critter person.
I don’t have mice. I do have occasional spiders, which are far worse. Yesterday evening I killed one that crawled across me while I was sitting on my bed watching TV. shudder That’s what I get for living in a cabin, I guess. It wasn’t a big spider. But it was on me! shudder

Happy birthday, Pie! Will there be cake? I’d quite like a bit of cake today, I am feeling the need. On the subject of cake, we’re having a charity cake baking competition in the section next Friday - I’ve been persuaded to enter so sometime next week I have to find time to make a mincemeat cake and a rum and raisin cake. Does anyone know how to stretch time so I can fit that in with everything else and still find time to get some sleep?
I’m aiming for a nice quiet day with minimal interruptions from Tin Knickers and Assistant Stuck Up Twunt - so far, it’s working well, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed.
Spaz - when you caught the mouse, did you eat it? Or did you just chomp the best bits and leave the rest on the floor? Well, you do have cat in your username…

Morning all, thanks for the birthday wishes. I woke up about the usual time. I think I’ll go jump in the shower and head out to the BMV to get the plates renewed on the car that my employee (I need a better nickname for her) is driving. Maybe some breakfast and then back here for a nap.
ETA: From now on my employee shall be known as GilaMonster because her real first name is oddly spelled but rhymes with Gila and I oft add the monster part just for fun.
I finally got my DSL router!
Only one week late. And only after chasing the supplier’s phone folk for three days, finally obtaining a number for the delivery folk, then chasing the delivery folk for two days. I could have hugged the guy who finally gave me a time and address to go get my package.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Today I work from home. YAY!!! I actually don’t have all that much to do work wise. If I’m a good bear I can be done by noonish. Oh and just for donkeybear, I’m sittin’ here in a nightshirt and boxer shorts.
gt if it’s a celebration, Whiskypalians are known for havin’ champagne punch. I’m usually in charge of guardin’ the champagne punch bowl to ensure that only adults partake. It’s a tough job but somebody’s gotta do it.
Speakin’ of cookin’ stuff, tomorrow is the big reception for our Priest who retires at the end of June. I must make many cheese straws. Guess that’ll take up the rest of Firday for me. Nah… Ima make two batches and if I work steady at it I can get 'em done in about an hour and a half.
Tummy is rumbly so I guess I should go feed it.

I can’t remember anything else I read. 
I’m doing better today! It still hurts, but not too bad. Later I’m gonna go over to the doc’s office and get a note saying it’s ok to return to work on Monday. This has not been as much fun as I fantasized about - I was looking forward to the time off! LOL.
My son came over last night to get some mail, and ended up staying for dinner. We had a nummy pot roast. We visited for a few hours, and watched Last Comic Standing. He’s going to his good friend’s wedding in a couple of weeks, and today is the “bachelor party.” They’re going deep sea fishing! Pete asked if the strippers were ok with being out on a boat. 
(No strippers, it turns out.) They all spent the night at friend’s parents’ house, and were getting up early to go all day fishing. I told him to bring me some fish!
Not much else going on. I’ll check back in later.

I’m up and heading to work here shortly. It’s supposed to be 84 here yet again today. That’s the highest we have been temperature wise here. The only thing I hate is having to wear pantyhose to work when I wear a dress. Yuck. And I realize I’m on my last pair of them, so I need to go and buy more. Wonder when they will be on sale again at Penny’s.
