I wasn’t going to post in this thread at all, but what you said brought up an interesting memory of something I had once read.
It was no doubt by the late, great columnist, Sydney Harris.
He said that Whites (in America) often seem convinced of certain traits of Black Americans (in a general distinction from themselves). But he observed that Europeans often had the same “perceptions” of Americans in general.
For instance, “they” are (supposedly) all so childish.
Oh come on. You can’t seriously say that you know that Ariovistus isn’t a pedophile. Or anyone else who’s hiding their racism or pedophilia by the simple expedient of not acting that way in the eminently self-censorable medium of the message board.
