Hello. I am a racist.

Really? You’ve never known a black person who didn’t exhibit these traits?

And how many white people have you known who exhibited them?

Texans are generally not crackers…true but I don’t know of any Texans that are considered peckerwoods either even including my mother’s side. I grew up on the Texas border and they were plenty of rednecks, white trash, niggers, spics, assorted chincs, a few towel heads, half-breeds, and Heinz-57’s. I never met a peckerwood though and any of those groups would probably punch you in the face if you called her one assuming she didn’t have twins.

I’m feeling very left out.

Would you like for me to call you a cracker or peckerwood?

sigh

Look.

I came here to just talk. That’s it. I have no ulterior motive, no “master plan” that I have in the works to make you all look stupid…

I never said that I was part of the “master race” or that I was a Nazi (I’m against all socialism… even the National kind), or that blacks were ‘inferior’ or anything like that…

What I said was that I disliked them because of how they acted, their poor morals and ethics, tendancy towards violence, etc, etc…

In fact, I went out of my way to say that all the races of the world had strengths and weaknesses specific to that particular race- at what point did I use the word “inferior”? Hint: I didn’t.

I gave you all the benefit of the doubt that you all would enjoy having an honest, polite, intelligent conversation about race. I knew that by giving you all personal information would open me up for attack, but the peace offering was more important.

I now admit I was wrong about most of you.

I’ve got half the posters saying the Pit is where this conversation should be taking place, and the other half busting my chops because I didn’t put it somewhere else… you guys don’t even know where a thread is supposed to be!

There’s a couple of you all that I wouldn’t mind sitting down over a beer and having a conversation… but the rest of you… meh.

I’m going to bed. It’s late and I’m tired. For those of you who enjoy bashing me, I’ll be back tomorrow morning sometime…

Goodnight.

I wonder if you actually are a racist. You claim to be one, and a rabid one at that, but I dunno… most racists are not so much motivated by revulsion at the actions of a group as they are convinced that the group is inherently inferior.

I think that perhaps you’re a “culturist”. Maybe.

So, would you rather hang out with a blond-haired, blue-eyed white guy who “acts black” or with a clean-cut, well-spoken black guy who “acts white”? Why?

Be fair. My family kicked his family’s ass back in the 780s. I know that, and I know that we’ve been revolutionaries, subversives, kings, and generally horrible people all the way back to then. (And before.) I’m pretty proud of that. (And warriors. Not always winning, but, hey, someone has to be in the Battle of New York.) 11 generations? Well, hm. My 9th Great Grandfather was the Revolutionary War soldier, and that’s 12 right there, and there’s four more before it, and that’s just in America. It’s nifty, but I don’t know what it says about me. I mean, I can talk about things they did, and that says things about me. Like the Pilgrims trying to convert us to their religion, and tearing down our church. Or having to leave Salem Village (which we founded) in a bald-ass hurry with a three month old baby, before we got accused as being witches. Or being read out of town because of supporting Shay’s Rebellion. Or of the guy who got scalped in King Phillip’s War, survived it, walked home. Or the one who didn’t make it home, after Major Roger’s Rangers freed him from captivity. He got both of the people he was guiding in, though.

Mostly, it’s a history of extreme stubbornness, family feuds, really bad, yet exciting, decisions made when horribly drunk, and generally fighting for freedom through the centuries. Often by doing horrible, horrible things to our fellow man.

I’m not really sure what the nordic blood has to do with hating black people. Does he have something against the Black Irish, maybe? Now, if he was Spanish, I could understand something against the Moors, maybe. But those Norse and Germans mostly fought other incredibly white people. Except the Romans, who were kinda swarthy, especially those from the south.

I don’t see him as much of an opponent, either. I’m just living my life, causing trouble for the unjust as I can. Mostly in Iran right now. Like a needle in an Haystack down there, but hey, we got them to admit they rigged elections.

Far as a border state goes, I barely remember my great-great gramma telling me the story of the day she saw uncle walking home from the Civil War. It’s not quite living memory, but it’s not dead yet.

So, bud. Why do you feel like you have to share your feelings about a race you don’t live anywhere near? Live your life. Let 'em live theirs, free and equal. Make the best of the opportunities you both have, and have happy grandkids.

If you want to find Nadine, you need to get religion.

Namibia? Namibia? You were in Namibia? Why, praytell? Were you a missionary? A mercenary? A fly on the wall? Perhaps you were reincarnated as part of Caesar’s army?

The cheeky Canadian will just say I thought you were talking about Americans.

Never talked much about the border towns, not in polite company. I heard they were places you could go to buy fireworks or a “good time”. So I can’t claim any experience.

I was, and am still, saying that your claim of “a lifetime of coexistence with many different types of people” is a flat-out lie, judging by your own posts in the site where you “usually hang out.” Yes, I read a bunch of them before responding to you here. (I invite other readers to do the same, if there are any doubts.)

By your account, you had virtually no interaction with anyone much different than yourself before joining the army and encountering the people that you already thought of as “niggers.” Your own descriptions of your interactions in the military do not conform to any reasonable person’s definition of “coexistence”–you acted like the racist asshole that you already were. Then you left the military and again fled from situations which might compel you to have interactions with anyone much different than yourself.

You have not had a lifetime of coexistence. You have had a lifetime of small and ugly ignorance.

Just to say it, I don’t think that skin color tells you anything more about the person than the color of their hair, or eyes, or nails.

That said, I live in a place that looks like the music video that I posted in Cafe Society. I don’t know any avowed racists I’d like to hear what s/he says.

Just to Fight my own Ignorance about how racists tic.

I find it hard to summon a lot of negativity for the OP, or really feelings of any sort.

Not really relevant to the thread, but I think there will soon be a new poster at chimpout.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger says she’s shutting down her 30-year-old syndicated radio program at the end of the year so she can get her “First Amendment rights” back.

I have a question for Ariovistus, asked in good faith. That question is this:

Why do you choose to define yourself as a racist?

Note that I did not ask “Why are you a racist?”. I asked why you choose to define yourself as a racist. Just from the OP, one can see that that’s not all there is to you. You’re a farmer. You’re a veteran. You’ve traveled the world. You’re proud of your cultural heritage. You probably have a lot of other interests that haven’t come up here. And yet you introduced yourself not as any of those things, but as a racist. Not only that, but you spend your free time in an online community expressly dedicated to racism, to the exclusion of all else.

I look at what you write and I see someone who has chosen to define himself primarily through his contempt for a category of people. And I can only ask, in all sincerity: Why?

Thanks for the tip!

I didn’t know xtisme was Hispanic. The Hispanics I have known were generally pretty nice, and never so rude :stuck_out_tongue:

But then, with any sort of inspection, the idea of ‘Hispanic’ usually falls apart. It’s like, no… this guy is Hawaiian? I don’t even know. Same with all the other races. It’s to the point that I wonder if I am secretly Jewish, and not even the race with which I identify.

But deconstructionism is a rather loquacious liberal hobby, no? The OP probably hasn’t experienced the falling-apart of the concept of ‘race’. Yet. Maybe 'dopers can help him. In the meantime, here’s a guy who at least had a real job at some point in his life stuck disliking black people for some reason. Black people can be anything… President… doctors… soldiers… crap-job workers… homeless drunks…

I think the OP needs to confront the fact that African origination of the human species means everyone is ‘black’. This brand of ‘racism’ is a form of self-[del]loathing[/del] disliking.

For me to believe this, you would actually have to be discussing something. You can’t just post a bunch of offensive/controversial stuff in order to start a discourse. That’s called trolling. If you were here for the discussion, you would have started by making your intentions clear. Is this an ‘ask the…’ thread? Do you come with an interesting observation? Are you making or refuting a claim?

No, you are deliberately keeping as much about your beliefs out of the conversation, specifically for us to be dismissive and draw conclusions, so that you and your buddies can laugh at the presumptuous libs.

Then after you’ve rationed out all your meager stores of racist arguments, slowly enough to hold our attention, you’ll weasel out of logic by arguing definitions.

I bet you were saving this for when you were really up against the wall:

Use it now so we can all go home.

Don’t be so hurt that your wifey got her swirl on once or twice.
