Did anybody watch this last night? Holy Crap was Elise a bitch! She reminds me of Tennille a few seasons ago, who was also, ironically, a black woman. I wanted to stuff a loaf of french bread in her mouth because that girl just will. not. shut. up. Fuck, can anyone say their piece without you having to add your fucking two cents?
Then she completely shuns Carrie and creates havok in her kitchen with no regard for actually serving people. That kind of selfishness has no place in a kitchen, especially for petty shit like the fact that both of them just plain don’t like each other. I don’t know if Gordon or the producers are keeping around trainwrecks for ratings, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already made up his mind that Elise is getting nowhere near his restaurant
I was completely prepared for Gordon to toss both of them out but thought Carrie was probably a goner. She hasn’t done great in services and seemed like too much of a whiner, and Gordon doesn’t hire those people for his restaurants. Imagine my shock when both stayed. And I was also shocked that after that little speech about people not being able to work together, he didn’t force one of them onto the blue team. That seems like the best thing to do if he wants a smoother running kitchen, but not for ratings I suppose
I’m watching this season… almost gave up on it last season after Gordon just got too nasty in general. I think he’s toned it down and although I still don’t think the HK candidates have anything on Top Chef’s, he seems more like Season 1 & 2 Gordon again - a tad more supportive. It might be that he doesn’t have any really fat people to make fun of this season though.
I did think it was crap to pull Jamie out when the other two have been up for elimination multiple times and it’s obvious neither is going to win. Maybe Jamie won’t win either, but she has had good services and her teammates don’t plan to murder her in her sleep.
Elise is probably my least favorite contestant of all the seasons. I pity the man that’s married to her.
Yeah. The red team is deperate to cut the drama. They hate Elise more, but they want the arguing to STOP. Which is why they’ve put both of them up together at least one time, and individually more.
And this time Gordon was angry enough with both Elise and Carrie to toss them out of the kitchen.
And yet he doesn’t send either of them home.
It’s almost --ALMOST – as blatant rating whoring as the season of Celebrity Apprentice with Joan Rivers.
At least they retained enough integrity to drop Christian from the finals, even though it meant losing all the ‘bad boy’ attention.
We have it on DVR - haven’t watched it yet - but it’s clear to me that Elise will be kept around for a while, simply for ratings. It appears she’s an OK cook - she did well that service that the meat station was slammed - but she’s toxic toxic toxic. I think she’ll go far but will be booted before the final 4, just because she creates conflict and this is, after all, a TV show. Carrie will stick around for the same reason, but’ll get booted first.
My husband doesn’t think that Gordon would do that. He thinks Gordon has more integrity, and wouldn’t allow that in his kitchen. He’s partly right - Gordon the chef wouldn’t, but Gordon the Fox whore totally would. He’s just in it for the money and notoriety. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he gets who he wants as the final four, but the “contest” up until then is managed and controlled by Fox.
Top contenders seem to be Will, Natalie, Paul, and Jennifer.
You can also bet that Carrie and Elise will be back for the Finale Brigades to screw someone over. Too much drama not to sabotage one of the final two by saddling them with one or both of these losers.
Lots of these so-called “Reality” competition shows keep people around longer than they deserve just because they provide drama and it keeps the show interesting. She should have been cut long ago on the basis that she can’t put aside her personal differences and she has a terrible personality that sets her own self above the team. Ramsey would never tolerate that under normal conditions but the producers probably want her for the ratings. I’m sure a lot of these reality show people have figured this out a long time ago and act out on purpose because they know that they’ll get more camera time.
Elise does that stupid raised-eyebrow-pout at all times, under any conditions. It’s her default face. She probably looks that way when she sleeps.
I haven’t seen this week’s ep yet but we’re watching the season. The producers clearly cast for personalities, not cooking talent. If there’s any legitimate contestant that, at this stage, still doesn’t know how to prepare a proper risotto, after watching contestant after contestant get reamed by GR every season for f’ing up the risotto, they really have no place being on the show. Unless, of course, the fact that they can’t cook risotto is why they were cast.
A few eps ago when the girls were sitting around their bedroom telling Elise that they didn’t like her because of her attitude, I so wanted one of them to ask her if she keeps her own name tattooed on her right tit in case she forgets who she is.
Paul and Will are the front runners; maybe Jennifer. Maybe.
Someone who understands cooking better than you average bear please explain this to me. HK contestents are supposed to be actual chefs or cooks, people who work in the industry? Why is it they can not do the seemingly most basic things like prepare scallops when an “amateur” like Jennifer on Master Chef can prepare them perfectly?
I’m amazed at how often CR sends back raw or overcooked food.
Well there is a big difference in the way the show is set up. HK has them doing actual dinner services. MC has them doing one dish at a time. There is a huge difference between those two situations. I think with the HK contestants, they are used to dealing with kitchen situations where people are being seated from time to time. On the show they are pretty much having the customers being seated all at once so they are under an amount of pressure that they normally don’t face. They have to fire several different dishes all at once when they are usually working at a different pace.
MC is totally different because those people aren’t working in the kitchen as a profession. They are amatuers so just cooking one dish as good as they possibly can is enough pressure for them.
OK, we watched this week’s ep last night. I’m not a violent person but I wish Carrie would haul off and punch that bitch Elise right in her puckered-up face. Woe to the poor sap who married her.
Its pretty obvious to me that Carrie can’t cook for shit. Her and Elise’s back and forth is grating… but Carrie keeps sending raw food up whether in the challenges (The Pizza) or in dinner service… Its pretty obvious that she has no fucking clue what she’s doing and is only there to interact with Elise…
Elise is easily the most annoying contestant in any of the seasons I’ve watched.
I liked that redneck guy that recently got cut. (Jonathan?) I really wish he would’ve stood his ground and not delivered that horrid pizza to Wolfgang.
