I only have one CD of Handel’s Messiah. It is about 15 years old and I’m looking for a new one. Mine is from the Maryland Handel Festival on a Pro Arte CD.

Anyone have any personal favourites to recommend?
I highly recommend the 250th anniversary recording (done in 1992) with the Academy and Chorus of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. The soloists are Sylvia McNair, Anne-Sofie von Otter, Michael Chance, Jerry Hadley, and Robert Lloyd. It’s a terrific performance, and the soloists are by and large excellent, especially the women…
