Help me figure out what show I am trying to remember

This is pretty obscure but I am trying to remember some TV show where some player in a sport gets some sort of super power. They thus go nuts and humorously keep scoring while knocking other players left and right. But then at the end all the other bruised players including our character’s teammates quit and our extra-powered hero is left standing (with the ball?) saying/begging something along the lines of " Hey fellows come back and play with me."

Any thoughts? Maybe a cartoon, maybe not. Likely from pre-mid 1970’s.

I thought it might be “Where’s Huddles” but none of the episodes listed in Wiki describe such a plotline.

The super power may simply be that the main character, though the same age as the other players, is just a lot bigger. Not sure.
