For yoga, I like to wear shelf-bra tank tops. However, they give me either uni-boob, or my breasts try to sneak out. I need to find a supportive bra tank top that will not do either.
I’d like to avoid anything with wires, since yoga has me sort of pretzeled up, and I think that might be uncomfortable.
Lululemon ? I personally can’t wear tank tops with the bras built in, because the bra part is never big enough, or if it is the rest of the shirt is gaping. But I live and swear by a lot of their other products, and know a lot of women that wear them and love them.
You know, a girlfriend at home just recommended Lululemon to me a couple of days ago, I’d never seen one of their stores. Their website says there are two in Maryland, I might give them a browse.
You might find zafu.com to be helpful - they have you put in your size, shape, and what you’re looking for in a bra, then give you matches; I’ve used it, and they’re not bad. They also have a jeans recommender.
Title Nine Sports has a selection of bra tops. They rate them based on support for different impact activities and say what chest sizes they work best for. They have a really good return/exchange program as well.
I generally wear a normal sports bra and a shelf-bra tank over that. the combination is comfortable and keeps the ladies right where they need to be. I don’t do yoga, but I run and lift weights.
I think my current cache of bra-tanks are from eddie bauer, and my sports bras are from gap.
Unfortunately, if you’re above ~B cup, shelf bra tanks just won’t be very supportive. There are some for larger busts that are a built-in underwire, but I’ve seen them more for fashion instead of work out purposes.
Yeah, no kidding - I do Bikram Yoga, so I don’t want to wear a bra and a top, but it’s really difficult to find one that will hold them in. I’ve given up, and I bought a light bra-lette thing that will work in tandem with the shelf-bra tanks that I wear.
As long as you all are recommending sports bras, help me out too.
My chest is small (32) while I wear a D cup. So support and underwire are essential. Plus I have a very small frame, so the bra needs to be fully adjustable, including the shoulder straps. IME if the straps aren’t adjustable, the bra doesn’t fit.
For yoga, I wear a sports bra that’s made out of wicking material and is VERY lightweight, but has underwire and keeps my girls where they need to be. Then I put the tank over that. I don’t get as hot as if I were wearing the heavy-duty running bra I also have (with underwire, I will NEVER understand the pull over your head sports bras, they do nothing for me at all). But that bra isn’t the most comfortable, the running bra is FAR more comfortable but as I said, lots heavier.
