(Since search isn’t available, I’m starting a new thread for this, although I’m sure at some point it’s been discussed before.)
“I just like the elliptical machine better.”
“Running is bad for your knees anyway.”
“I just can’t jog, ok?”
Excuses! I’m sick of them. Truth is I want to run. I’m a D-cup. It hurts when I try because all the sports bras I have suck. And I don’t really want that to be the reason I fail to outrun the zombie hoard someday.
So, large-bosomed dopers, any advice? I want something super-supportive that isn’t going to crush my ribcage either. Also, not to be rude, but if you’re a smaller breasted woman, please don’t recommend one unless you know a larger person who also likes that one.
Costco in CA is currently carrying a good Adidas jog bra. Great support, good compression. It’s a longer one (extends to about halfway between the base of the breasts and the belly button). They are selling them in boxes of two for less than $20 IIRC.
I have also had good luck with Champion in the past, when my boobs were bigger.
Junonia sells a lot of great ones. The company sells all kinds of great workout clothes for plus sizes, but I don’t know if you’re a plus size or you just have a large cup size, since the zombie pics didn’t do a good job showing your ribcage
Have you been to titleninesports.com? Their sports bra section has detailed descriptions of all their bras and they have carefully selected several for the large-breasted. They don’t sell anything they don’t wear and like.
This thread’s title just sucked me in, and forced me to click and read this thing.
I have no idea why I’m in here, as a Guy and can’t really offer any advice. Actually, i think that first part just might just explain why I’m here. I’ll be leaving now.
I have had really good luck with Moving Comfort, which is also available in some sports stores such as Academy Sports. I used one when I was a 38DD and use one now when I’m a 36C. The only thing I don’t particularly care for is the underwire in the one I have now, but it works well so I can’t complain too much.
I love Title Nine sport bras! I was your size, Jenny (I may be less on the band, now), and those were comfy, supportive, and durable. Too bad they run a bit on the expensive side for this college student (and they don’t accept AmEx). Check their selection at www.titleninesports.com , like was suggested.
I dream of one day wearing the five dumbells bra (looks horrible but also very supportive), but alas no one in my family (except my also broke sister) seems to understand how important and necessary sport bras are, and never send them as gifts (despite our pleas for them as gifts).
I like the five dumbell one too, but I can’t believe something so perfect would be listed with such stupid sizing information. Small medium large x-large? Are they kidding?
Also, is this the same bra?
That’s one sucky thing about Title Nine - they often don’t tell you the actual brand of stuff in their catalog. For example, I know what size I wear in Keen shoes, and I see some cute shoes in there that I think are Keens, but I can’t tell.
I’m a 34FF, so I can’t wear plus size sports bras but my boobs are too big for ‘normal’ sports bras. I highly highly highly recommend Enell sports bras. I’m on my second one (I lost enough weight where my size 3* got too big :)) and they are fantastic. They hook-closure up the front and look almost like a vest-bra. No bouncing, no movement. I run and go on the elliptical without any problems.
Their own size chart; I’d never be in a clothing size 3.
A guy here. I have to go with Elaine Benes here, who said of the penis, “How do you guys walk around with those things?” I think the same thing could be said of large cup sizes and any sort of exercise.
I’ll go away now. My inner eyeballs are starting to itch a bit.
Right back at you bub. I think Elaine had a good point - at least my boobs aren’t between my legs when I want to run, I don’t know how that works for you dudes.
