Approximately 30 to 40 years ago (while driving) I heard a humorous song on the radio, and ever since I have wanted to find a recording, the song’s title, and/or the lyrics. The lyrics very positively describe an ultramodern restaurant, but then there’s a refrain that contains the phrase “…but the food was terrible.”
Can anyone help me? Thank you very much!
David
What’s with using your username as a thread title?
I’ll bet your song is The New Restaurant by Malvina Reynolds.
Hey, it’s his first post. Probably just misunderstood the way it works. Cut him some slack.
Yeah, and it took him three years to get that far!
I’m just kidding ya, drdavidlwilliams. Welcome to the boards, and hopefully the song pinkfreud suggested is the one you’re looking for.
drdavidwilliams, welcome to the Straight Dope Message Boards!
I’ve edited your thread title to something that will be more helpful to readers. We have a lot of threads here, and people like to be able to identify quickly the ones they’re interested in, so clear thread titles are important. No biggie, you’ll know for next time, and we’re glad you’re with us… and hope that someone has helped.
