A recent contestant on Jeopardy! Anthony Fox reminds me of a cross between Kenneth Branagh and an actress whose name I can’t recall.
She’s not Martha Plimpton but there is a bit of a resemblance. I’m guessing my mystery woman is in the same age group as Martha, give or take five years or so.
No, and she’s also not Joan Allen who also shares a little resemblance in my eye. I’m reasonably sure the mystery actress is a TV and movie actress, but I can’t seem to place her into a specific show or movie. If I could I could track her down that way.
Thanks for the try, Sefton, and I think we crossed paths before here. Stalag 17, right?
Stalag 17, that’s me. A movie that could use a remake…
Anyway, the only other actress I can think of is Imelda Staunton, who looks a lot like the guy in your first picture. If you could give us an age or nationality, that would help.
In my eye, Imelda is not even close. As for age and nationality, I’m just guessing but I’d put her age at somewhere in her 30’s or 40’s, and I’m close to sure she’s American, possibly Canadian. Otherwise, Brit or Aussie, maybe.
If you blot out the masculine features of the Jeopardy! guy, her face shape and features are strikingly similar, at least to me. But I realize we all see different things in faces.
I understand. Perhaps the still picture of the guy in the OP is misleading. It was in the show when some particular camera angles showed the resemblance that made me try to think which actress he resembles.
I just hope that when we do get her ID’ed that y’all won’t think I’m crazy.
Found her! Pamela Reed
I guess my memory of her age was based on having seen her just recently in The Long Riders (1980) (on Encore Westerns) when she would have been 30 or so.
If she’s on one of those comprehensive lists on IMDb, then I have yet to find it.
I kept trying to picture what sort of setting or which other actors would have been associated with her, and I suppose it was that I had just recently seen enough of The Long Riders on TV for her face to be fresh in my subconscious.
Anyway, I can now move on with the rest of my life! Don’t you just hate to have something like that clog up your thoughts?
At first, I thought maybe the suggestion of Mindy Cohn was a joke that whooshed you, but I see a considerable resemblance between Pamela Reed and Mindy Cohn, so I’m mystified by your “nowhere close” comment.
Resemblance is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
