Help me identify this movie, please!

I saw it back in the early 80’s on cable, and here’s what I remember:

A young woman has an operation in which she gets the eyes of another woman. She starts having violent visions and soon realizes that she is seeing them through the eyes of the deceased. In particular, she keeps seeing the following symbol:

//
//\

She becomes obsessed with this symbol, and some other guy is trying to help her. He talks with a another guy named Willie Metz, who claims to know nothing. Later, we see Willy bench pressing, and as he’s lifting the weight, we see the symbol on his wrist. It turns out he’s the murderer.

Later, the woman’s friend is trying to figure out the meaning of the symbol on a blackboard as Willie goes off looking to kill the woman. The friend finally figures it out and writes out

//illie
//\etz

(It’s not nearly as obvious in the film, because the symbol in the movie has the edges of the letters merged, so that it looks more like a TIE fighter than anything else.)

So the guy goes looking for the girl and rescues her from evil Willie. At the end of the film, Willie either jumps or is pushed off a cliff.

This one has been bothering me for years. Any ideas? Thanks.

For whatever reason, I’m seeing Madeleine Stowe. Check her IMDB page and see if any titles ring a bell.

Just saw The Eyes of Laura Mars again last week. That’s not it.

Good guess, Zeldar, but that’s not it. You might be thinking of Blink , but the movie I’m thinking of was much older than that.

Thanks, though. :slight_smile:

Oh, and his name might not have been “Metz” but I seem to remember it sure looked seemed like that, and the initials were definitely W. M.

Hmm. I searched through IMDB’s Character search. There are no characters with first name Willie or Willy and last name starting with M in IMDB’s database. I don’t have the heart to try Will or William.

This is the exact same plot of an adult (porn) movie I saw recently. Maybe if you search on that some web page might mention what movie it was based on. I’d try it, but I’m at work and I’m afraid of what might pop up.

Movie was “Eye of the Beholder (2004)” with Kaylani Lei.
