We have a Pixel–also known as Pixie, Pix, and Don’t Bite.
Other artsy names, since your kitty’s markings are kind of abstract shapes: Paloma (Picasso’s artist daughter), Miro, or Henrietta (for Henri Matisse).
That’s a very cute kitten! I love the video of her.
We named our little torbico (tortoiseshell/tabby/with calico bib, tummy, and feet) Keroberos, a mild bastardisation of Cerberus that came from Card Captor Sakura. Though the character was a boy, it suited our girl so well. We shorten it to Kero all the time, and it’s a lot of fun to say. It usually makes people laugh that we named such a wee, delicate and overly affectionate kitten after a great, snarling, three-headed dog who guards the gates of Hades. She does growl at the neighbour’s dog sometimes, though. Practice makes perfect, little Kero.
Just a suggestion. I think big, tough names given to gentle, small creatures is adorable, though.
I’m thinking of perhaps a little Yoggy when we get a pup…
I usually go with a name tangentially related to my life experience and what was going on when I found/adopted the cat. I have four cats thus:
Aber - Got her at the time I met my wife, who had recently come back from studying in Aberystwyth, Wales. As a bonus, “aber” means “mouth” in Welsh, and she was a noisy kitten.
Porkchop - I got her from the pound, and was listening to The Dirty Dozen Brass Band on the way, in particular “Don’t You Feel My Leg,” which is a story about a woman resisting the advances of a suitor at an establishment called “Porkchop Willie’s.” I thought it was a great name, and decided on it on the spot.
Euronymous - Rescued kitty. I chronicled the story of her rescue here. The short version: I rescued her from three Goth transvestites, so I named her after Euronymous, the infamous Black Metal guy who ws murdered by his friend, Varg Vikernes.
Clovis - Another rescue. I found her virtually on top of the spot where archaeologists unearthed a 10,000 year old Clovis point last year.
It’s not computer or colour related, but looking at her beautiful almond eyes, I would suggest Ava or ZsaZsa. Or maybe Sofia.
I have two calico girls - Feather (peach and grey) and Max (black and orange). Here are my sunbathing beauties. Calicos are demanding and a little nutty, but man, do they have personality!
We took in my cousin’s calico when it proved to be incapatible with their growing family. We’ve called her Satan pretty much from Day 1 since she had a habit of hissing at you just for looking in at her. She has since mellowed out to “Bitchy”, but the name has stuck. She’ll always be Satan, Her Unholy Highness of Terror to us.
Ha! But the poor little thing, saddled with grammar errors all her life.
“Myriad”! Not only is it applicable to her coat but it is my favorite sanserif font (what, don’t you have a favorite font?). Too many good names, I cannot choose!
Fortunately right now she answers to “Baby kitty” or “hey you” or “Geez cat leggo my leg!” I tried taking more pix but it’s like trying to catch an arrow in flight.
