I had a Siberian husky called Natasha, shortened to Tasha. She was never called Todda Wadda.
End of thread drift.

She looks just like my Joey! I suggest Jodie or Josie so that they rhyme with my cat’s name.
Francine, Gabriel, Cosmo, Bo, Andrea, SpankRock, Luna… I think KiKi is the best name for a kitteh though.
My cat’s a boy, his name is Kitty Scoop/Patrick/Kevin and I usually just call him kiki.
My friend and I have decided that one day we must name a cat Mary Sidney, Countess of Pembroke.
We’ll call her Sidney for short.
ETA: pretty kitty, rigs. She does look like her name suits her!
Sometimes the first given name won’t stick. I had a kitten that was abandoned at a clinic I work at and the clinic staff dubbed it Little Smokey after the clinic cat, but I thought that was a too generic grey cat name and the name morphed to Moki. Then, I had a kitten I named Taz which eventually became Velcro for her tendency to stick to things. My current cat, Pi, started as a kitten with an eye that was stuck shut from infection, and with one eye stuck shut and one eye wide open he was dubbed Popeye. Later when it became obvious I would keep him and he had to have the eye removed, I tried calling him Pirate because I just didn’t like the name Popeye. That eventually morphed into Pi, and that seems to fit him best. Also a short name works best when yelling " Pi, stop that!"
My cat, Feather, ends up being called Featheroni Baloney quite often. You can choose the name, but the nicknames just appear organically.
Natasha r srs kitteh.
Natasha morphs to Tasha or Tash sometimes. Or little one, little girl (she’s tiny) and sometimes Nina (hey, my memory’s not what it used to be).
I’m sure that Squirt, Lil Shit etc are not far behind. We go to the vet today for her “free” wellness checkup. She’s very curious and sweet–MUCH better than either of my 2 previous cats, which I now think were slugs with fur. This one actually plays with cat toys(!). And she doesn’t wake me up at 0500 wanting food. Such things are invaluable.
When I was younger, I wanted to have fish named Vladimir and Estragon. I still want to name a cat Kobiyashi Maru and will some day. Names are tricky things. My neighbor suggested Brittany and I almost vomited there and then. I managed to keep a straight face and thanked her nicely. Brittany? Does she think we own a white trash cat? Hmmph!
OMG, you can get a pair of kittens and name them Brittny and Ash*leigh!
Welcome to the family, Natasha!
…now you need to adopt another kitty & name his Boris!
Chat Neuf
Heh. You wish. Our new kitty (this was a couple of years ago) liked to curl up in kaylasmom’s chair at the dining room table. Never mind that kaylasmom is not used to feeling for the presence of an animated cushion before she sits down. So for a couple of days, it was “We call the black one ‘Squashy’.”
I ruminated on that one for a while, then it struck me that people might want to know what kind of squash we had in mind. I chose pumpkin, and decided to cut to the chase and just make it “Punkin.”

I had a Tosha, and she was sweet. She was Tosh, The Toshinator, Toshomitron, TishTosh, and sometimes Kitten.
It’s a good name.
Now we have Brix and Bella. Brixie, BrixiePants, Brixiecan (“are you a Brixiecan or a Brixiecan’t?”), or Brixanthemum and Bellanotte, Bellatrix, the Bellanator, BabyBella, or Portabella (her real long name, actually).
Feel free to use any of these, as the mood strikes you.
My Natasha says hi.
psycho–your Natasha is adorable!
Thanks for all the suggestions, folks. Natasha is settling in quite nicely. She loves, loves, loves the laser pointer. Seriously, our other cats never did anything. She is fun and we are all really enjoying having a pet.
If you’ve never been to mycathatesyou.com it’s a veritable goldmine for cat names, plus entertaining photos for the cat lover…
