Help us name our road!

Because of some duplicate names, the county is renaming the road My Wife and I live on. We are the only full time residents.

I’d like to have the name reflect where we live.

We live way, way up in the central Colorado Rockies. Just a stones throw away from the continental divide. The views are fantastic, and the snow gets deep.

One caveat, it has to be a bird name, or theme. The County has chosen ‘Lark Bunting Ln’. I’m sure they just picked that out of a hat.

Some of my thoughts….

  • Winter Hawk.
  • Eagles Nest (though that’s a subdivision in the next county).

I’m off to GOOGLE indigenous birds of Colorado.

Scrub Jay Jaunt?

Goldeneye Boulevard

Common Loon Lane

Brown-capped Rosy Finch Way

Black-headed Grosbeak Road

Skylark Drive

Booby Road

Heh,

I like Common Loon Lane

I was also thinking about **Old Buzzard Ct[//]

What no love for the blue footed booby?

Tanager Trail (My favorite Colorado bird!)

Gonna have to have a common suffix. For our road, it’ll probabably be ‘Lane’ or ‘Court’ (should be court per postal regs)

I would **not ** go with Eagle’s Nest, as that was the nickname of Hitler’s retreat

Circling Vulture Road.

Tris

Lovebirds Court

Ptarmigan Pterrace

High Court.

Even better if you have lawyers in the place.

Actually after some more thought, I would like to change my suggestion to:
Blue Booby Blvd.

Falcon’s Rest

Oooh, this one has my vote. Second place is common loon.

Ooo, great. Seconded!

Camp Robber Road

OK, not named for a specific bird but any of several jays that are known to make off with folks’ food whenever an opportunity arises. I thought it would be a good conversation starter for the curious.

Personally, I like Ptarmigan Pterrace.

Does it intersect with Carrion Court?
