Helpme, Lady - or, a very typical MMP

I would like for all of the family related crap in my life to stop RIGHT THIS MINUTE.

Thank you.

LOL

Can’t focus. Can barely focus long enough to type this post. I don’t like how this feels.

:frowning:

ETA: 5 cheezburgers for the Lol cat. Luckily it loaded quick, or I wouldn’t have had the patience.

Blurf.

Love the lol, rosie.

Glad your toe’s better, taxi.

Ruble, nice threads.

FCM, Glad your OK, though.

I’ve never been in a Synagogue either. I’ve been in Baptist, Methodist, Greek Orthodox, even Catholic churches on occasion.

Nice pics, Nava. I love street parades. Irish Boyfriend and I are vaguely planning a trip to Spain for next summer - maybe Granada?

HAZE!!!
: waves wildly :

:: waves wildly back ::

I know, I’ve been terribly neglectful but it’s been a crazy few months. I’ll be a better Mumper I promise!

Just don’t make the opposite mistake to what some news outlets did mumble grumble years ago, and end up in Grenada…!

Also - “Hi Haze!!” (waves enthusiastically)

Remember to order your passes for the Alhambra in advance. If you stop by Seville and I’m still here, I’d love to take you to lunch… and if you’re interested in the kind of arrangement called “fonda del sopapo” in Spanish, I can offer you my spare room for a couple of nights.

Fonda del sopapo: “these are your keys, the linens are clean, the shower works like this, here’s the transportation pass valid for the whole autonomous region, here’s the kitchen, if you don’t like the food I have you can buy your own in the supermarkets over there. Have fun, and leave the keys on the table when you leave for good!”

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

HEE Rosie!

Howdy Haze!

Nava that sounds like a good arrangement. Here’s where stuff is, have fun! That’d be jake!

Amurrkin dopers, don’t forget to vote today! Ima get purtified shortly and head up the road to my precinct. Gotta get my little peach sticker after all!

Up and caffeinating, if a bit late for work. Hey Haze, good to see you!

Eye doc took measurements of my eyes in preparation for cataract surgery on my left eye!!! Yay! Could possibly be sometime in the next 2-4 weeks, so I’m a happy camper and crossing my fingers that my nearsightedness might possibly be corrected in that eye!

My Dad is also gradually getting better, which is -really- good news; hopefully they will step him down to a regular room, then he’ll be released to the senior living facility, to the infirmary there, then finally back to his apartment. Many thanks to all who send good thoughts and prayers to him!

Sorry to hear about your car, FCM, but glad -you- were unhurt. Deer mating season, worst time of the year, unfortunately.

Hugs and trouts, as appropriate; I love you all and have been keeping up with the posts but my memory is very spotty these days! Happy Tuesday.

Hi, Haze!

Up, caffeinated off to irk.

Good news, Herbs!

Great news, Herbs.

I voted!

Knowing you, shouldn’t that be just “I voted?” :stuck_out_tongue:

Continuing with the good thoughts for your dad’s complete recovery, Tarra!

Blurf. In spades.

This morning’s post will be sponsored by Bobbio’s Stream Of Consciousness[sup]tm[/sup], providing quality illogic since 1961.

I went to my first [del]medieval torture session[/del]physical therapy appointment last night for my butt. I went in hurting, from a long day warming my office chair. Started out with 8 minutes walking a treadmill, of which I went for 10 at a pace that got me some quality snarkage for being a show-off and overachiever. Sorry toots, walking is one thing that gives me relief, and damn it felt good.

The surprise was when the PTist had me doing backwards back bends. I was supposed to do 20 of them, and it hurt. A lot. At #5, my back went POP. It was loud enough that the PTist 20 feet away said “I heard that!” The pain was exquisite, and I saw a lot of stars for a minute. As the stars went away, so did a good portion of my pain; the pop was my disk sliding back in to place. At the end of the session, I was almost pain free, so I was a happy camper. I have some soreness this morning, but without drugs it compares to what I had before on painkillers. :):)
Had a wierd, non-naughty dream about my high school girlfriend last night. We are still Christmas card friends, FTR. In the dream, I stopped by to visit with her and her hubby. The weird part involved me trying to leave, and losing my car only to find it replaced with a pickup truck I haven’t owned for 7 years.
I lost the election for Rescue Squad president last night, but was happy to find that I totaled more than 1 vote. Oh well, plans for world domination quashed for another year.
Went to fahr skool over the weekend. The class was the wonderfully exciting Prevention and Education course, one of the top 3 snoozers in the curriculum. I have one more to go, the Sunday before Turkey Day, and it’s the Big Kahuna: Fire Control. We set fire to an old house, and put it out. Then I’m done with that I’ll be a certified Journeyman level fahrman.
Alas, I must stop thrilling y’all with the mundanity of my life, and go get more WTHU in my cup.

I forgot the story from this morning I wanted to tell.

The guys I sit with in Cubeville are testing a new navigation systen I don’t work on, and today two of them were discussing a bug they found involving on-screen colorization of items.

Overheard line: “There are NO magenta bouys out on the water.”

Me:“Oooh, that would be fa-a-a-a-a-abulous!”

Yup!

Yay for voting!

Gah, am starving and waiting desperately for boyfriend to get home so we can eat, damnit.

Me Too! No line when I went, which was no big surprise at eight a.m. I got my little peach sticker and it has now joined the others on the fridge. Yeah, it’s weird but that’s what I do with 'em. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Dindin tonight shall be pepper steak leftovers. However I am beginnin’ prep for tomorrow’s and most likely Thursday’s dindin, chikin pot pie. I have a chikin on to boil as I post. Go Me!
