Sorry about your kitty getting smaller, Coyote.
Seems that one of my 2 best friends in high school was elected the new sheriff in the county where I grew up. Good, job, Brad…
ETA: FoTP, and I wasn’t even trying.

I found a couple hairballs that had been horked during the night. Hopefully he’s just feeling post-horkal.
I was awakened at 6am-ish with the smoke alarm doing it’s low battery chirp thingy. Why do those things always happen while you’re sleeping?
Sorry about kitty, Wile E; hope it was indeed the hairballs.
Bummer about the teammate, taxi. I know how you feel; I’ve lost several co-workers/employees like that and it always hurts.
Am home, mid-day from taking down Halloween decorations at the park and am about to continue attacking the house. Trying to get everything kitchen-y relocated today and to get all recyclable electronics and other stuff the heck out of the house. Road trip to Best Buy will be in order either tonight or Saturday.
Off to finish to-do list.

Are you moving, gt? I didn’t have a chance to catch up on last week’s MMP so I don’t know what’s going on.
taxi, I know exactly what you’re going through. It does suck, especially as the person who has to pick up the extra workload. We’re losing an analyst too. He’s taking a lateral to one our clinical areas. Personally, I wouldn’t want that job (administrative officer for clinic within our hospital), but then again, I don’t like being anybody’s supervisor. I’ll be sucking his workload, in addition to all of mine. Seems like my workload never decreases; only increases.
Sorry about your hiney problems, **Bobbio. ** Hope they go away soon.
I hope your kitty is feeling better as I type this, Wile.
Welp, that’s about all I’ve got for now.
Hugs and smooches to alla y’all.
Taters, you’re a data person so you’ll appreciate this - we’re transitioning to a new server, and it’s a bit different than what we’ve had before. One thing that’s different is that it’s changing NULL values into blanks. OK, no problem, right? Except today a coworker was pulling a file to send to a vendor and had customers with blank last names. Yeah… NULL => blank thing doesn’t work so well for the Mr. and Mrs. Nulls of the world. Yes, there really are people with the last name of Null. Oops.
It reminded us of this xkcd.
I am getting sick and tired of these close encounters with deer. This morning, the car ahead of me (about 100 yards, I’m guessing) suddenly swerved to the left, across the oncoming lane, and on to the shoulder on the other side, and just before the swerve, I think I saw a deer. Why else would he/she swerve like that? Anyway, I slowed and watched, but didn’t see any, and I got to work unscathed, but doggone!!!
I was pretty busy at work, but it involved a lot of waiting for stuff to download, so it doesn’t look like I did much.
Sketties for supper today. It’s FCD’s 54th, but we’re not going to celebrate till the weekend. I also need to find out what kind of cake or pie he wants.
Nothing much else. Still haven’t heard from Geico about my car. I miss my Scion!
Laundry beckons…
My good work friend lost her job today. No idea why.
gt, no worries, I figured you had a life.
In the ongoing saga of Culinary Boy’s recovery, he had one of his incisors pulled last night. The dentist is going to get him a three-tooth bridge (probably because the chipped incisors can’t be saved either) so we’re going down in just a few minutes to drop off the victim’s comp paperwork.
After I posted about the hairballs earlier Pi started eating a little, drank some water and followed me around as usual. So I decided to wait and spare him pokings with a needle and see if he ate dinner, which he did. So I’m hoping it was just queasiness from hairball horking. For him not to want to eat was enough to throw me into panicky neurotic pet owner mode.
Sorry to hear that Spaz. That sucks.
Glad Pi seems ok, Coyote!
I’m goin’ home! On time for the first time this week.
Her brother is moving in with her.
Little Bobby Tables is getting a lot of play this elections’ cycle, huh?
Damn. That does suck
**Coyote **- “Pi”? Is this because, being a cat, it is irrational?
**Bobbio **-- I’m sure your doctors will eventually get to the bottom of this… (d&r)
Glad to hear Pi is perking up.
Sorry about your co-worker, Spaz.
Yes, as SO pointed out, my brother is moving in here. He needed a temporary place to stay, and, the more I think about it, the better it is for me because: 1) it forces me to purge things I shouldn’t have accumulated over the past 10 years, and 2) since we’ll have a new governor, there’s a theoretical possibility that I’ll be out of a job, so it won’t hurt to have a roommate for a bit. Very weird to live with him after all this time, though. You’d never know we were brought up in the same household. I’ve had about 50-gazillion roommates over time, so little bits of other people’s families have rubbed off on me, and he was married to someone for almost 25 years, so he’s inherited a bunch from that side.
I’ve spent a bunch of the afternoon cleaning out kitchen cabinets and re-structuring so that stuff either fits or is consigned to the basement.
Guess I should go forage…haven’t thought about what to have for dinner, yet. Cereal, maybe?
Back later.

Please check out this promo, and pass it along; especially if you know any network folk looking for new series: The Walkers. My brother is the “voice of doom”
I went to Evening Prayer tonight. This was a service of commeration for the dead and people were encouraged to bring mementoes of loved ones to place ont he Altar. I took a pen knife that belonged to my father, a spent shotgun shell from a 21 Gun Salute at an Uncle’s funeral and I wore a shirt that belonged to my late brother. I was thoughtful and did not take off the shirt to place on the Altar. I’m all considerate like that. It was a neat service.
I know I’ve mentioned before that YP is a sorta smartass, an admirable quality IMHO. After the service as we were retrievin’ our stuff, he said it was kinda weird to look at the Altar durin’ Communion and seein’ a spent shotgun shell. I told him where I’d gotten it and he said he was hopin’ for a story like " that was the bullet that killed my grandpa."
I read but have retained little, so hugs, yays, boos, trouts, chitlins, wedgies, how you doin’s as needed.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Well, he lost one eye to infection as a kitten and I was calling him Popeye but I didn’t really like the name. I thought of naming him Pirate but I had started shortening Popeye to Pye and decided to just go with Pi instead because it sounded nerdy and I had recently read “Life of Pi”.
Hope your kitty is okay, Wile E!
I just took a plate out of the oven, dumped it in the sink, and then turned on the faucet. :smack: Huge CRACK bought me to my sense. Argh.
We had some really yummy pan-fried catfish for dinner, with baked fries and garden salad.
And brownies that I made last night. I had leftover German chocolate frosting in the fridge, so I iced 'em. OMG!
Canes won tonight, 7-2. And I found Yuengling. Coincidence?
Happy to Grandpa! And to my two hockey friends, as well!
Hope the at stays better, Coyote!
Sorry about your friend ,Spaz.
Oh, and it’s the 8th anniversary of my Christmas tree being up.
You could always tell folks it’s short for Pyewacket.
