Helpme, Lady - or, a very typical MMP

So her other cat should be e? Would the Cheshire Cat be an i, or an 1+i?

The cheshire cat could be 1/x*. Y’know, a monotonously decreasing function… (OK, not really monotonous, but definitely decreasing.)

As for the rest, I dunno about cats, but the tastiest number in existence is π[sup]t[/sup] “raising Pie to the Tea”
ETA: * For x > 0

Morning - up and caffeinating on a Thursday. And it’s one day closer to the weekend. SpecialOne, I know, it’s already your weekend!

My dad is back at his senior center, in the infirmary; he’s recouperating still and sounded a bit weak last night, but he is definitely on the mend. Thanks again for all the prayers and good wishes!

Hugs for all.

Rainy morning. Lovely if you can stay in bed, mood destroying if you’re already a bit glum.

Gotta shake this funk.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ on a dreary, drizzly day AKA typical Fall south Jawja day.

Not much else to say here.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

We’re done with the drizzle, so we gave it to y’all, Swampy. :stuck_out_tongue: Gonna be sunny and gorgeous here, with a high of 70° - if a bit windy.

We had a health fair yesterday. I got my free flu shot, as well as a free massage! and lots of swag.

Happy Thursday!

Drizzly and gloomy here too. It can rain and monsoon all it wants during the week. All I ask is for dry weekends.

It was an odd past few days. They pumped me all full of anti-flu stuff on Thursday. (Yay for free preventive care!)

On Friday night, I suddenly found myself unable to swallow. Trimming out the icky bits: My eyes and nose were bleeding. DH was alarmed and we went to the ER. By the time we got into triage, my BP was down to 190/160. I’m OK now, but at the time, it was rather unpleasant. <crosses “Have steakhouse syndrome” off the bucket list and adds “Call GI doc for am endoscopy to check out the fundoplication” to the to-do list.>

Glad you’re OK! But

… does not compute…

Grr…on the phone for 30 minutes with the IT help desk for a simple password reset. 30 minutes later and I still don’t have my logon.

If this is the way the day is going to be, I’m going back to bed.

StG

Did they give you nitroglycerin? You would have had a dilemma. Does your head explode from the bleeding stroke, or the headache the nitro causes?

I had fun with my Physical Terrorist last night. First, I proposed marriage because of the relief I had after Monday’s round. FTR, she is young, cute, and black. Second, I flat out told her about my impish sense of humor when she did my evaluation, and she is getting used to me. So, a different terrorist was working with a patient in the bed next to mine with the curtain drawn. She reached through blindly to plug something in, I yelled “Ouch!”, resoundingly startling terrorist #2 and causing mine to LOL.

I am on a slow burn this morning. I have a regurlarly scheduled PCP appointment next week, and advance labs are required. I called the office Tuesday to check for the orders, and none were cut. The nurse said she would call them in. I fasted 12 hours last night, and showed up at the lab at 0700 for the vampires to do their thing. Guess what? No orders. No food, either, and I was waaaaay grouchy from beng hon-gu-ry. :grrrrrrr:

I’m sorry, but… DAMN. I don’t blame your DH for being alarmed!

Good morning, everybody! Hubby came through his bone marrow biopsy just fine. They gave him happy drugs, and he slept through it. He was snoring when I came back in. This morning he’s still a little groggy, and just a little sore at the site, but doing really well. We go back next Friday, November 12th, for results. Since his appointment’s at 3:15pm, I’m trying to decide whether I’m going to work 40 hours in 4 days next week or whether I’ll come in for a little while on Friday. They’ve been really good to me here at work. I have the kid of job where I could work my own hours, so I can just tell them when I need off and they work around me.

No nitro, no exploding head. Just blood trying to leak out of unusual places.

It was a great built-in Halloween costume element - bright blood red eyes. They’re down to just heavily pink around the edges.

Too funny.

I’m just wishing the work day would hurry up and end already. Sheesh! Not motivated and I’m not feeling real great either. It’s low grade whatever it is, but I’m slightly dizzy, I keep going hot , then cold, and my stomach is not doing great either.

Whatever it is, I wish it would go away.

Jeebus, gotti. That would have probably scared the everlivin’ shit out of me.

My supervisor has asked for our support forms so she can write our yearly performance evaluations. I hate writing out my “significant contributions”. I think it’s a crock of shit myself, but whatever, I’ll have it to her by next week.

Well, I suppose I should go forth and be productive.

My company started doing this in August. Just in time for my yearly evaluation. I was one of the first that had to do this. I agree with your assessment, but it did confirm that my boss knows everything I do and she not only agreed with my assessment, she had everything written down already that I sent her.

Whew - finally a chance to sit down. I had “training” today that turned out to be a total waste. The software kept crashing, so we watched the instructor click stuff on his laptop which was projected on the front screens. Real educational… At least it ended early.

I ran by Food Lion on the way home and crab legs were on sale, as were baking N.O.T., so that’s what we had for supper. Muy yum! It was a ten pound sack of N.O.T. for $3, so tomorrow, I’m going to bake 'em all up and make twice-baked for the freezer.

I called the GEICO guys again - it’s been since Monday and no one has told me anything about my car. I called the body shop and the nice lady there said they’d done the preliminary assessment and tomorrow, I should get the full estimate of when and how much from the adjuster. But overall, I’m not impressed with GEICO. I may shop around after this is over.

I’m getting rid of my rental car on Saturday, and I’ll ride in with my daughter till my car is ready. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this in the first place. Her school is right down the road from the main gate of the base, so she’ll go to school, then I’ll go to work, and after, I’ll go pick her up. I told her I’d buy gas as long as she drove me. Lots cheaper than paying for a rental.

Glad the week is almost over. And next weekend will be extra long - we get Veteran’s Day off, and I’m taking the Friday after also. So 4 days in a row! YAY!

That’s one thing I like about this time of year - lots of federal holidays.

Man. Now I want some N.O.T.

I work for the gummint, and this is the way it’s always been done, at least for people in my grade level.

The stupid thing is that most every product I created is on our shared drive, under my name, and/or I cc the supervisor the emails and attachments. So, I find it stupid to have to write out what I’ve done. But, that’s just me.

Made it home last night and crshed for 11 hours and I am still tired. I am home for a few days though which is good and I have had a productive day as well.

Glad Dad is doing better herbs

I have not been grocery shopping in weeks so mr ems has been living out of the freezer so I will be compiling a list tonight for a massive shop tomorrow. Tonights supper is baked chickend with onion & mushroom sauce and roast butternut squash.

My early Christmas present has just arrived - I am now the proud owner of a Kindle!

I’ve heard whisperings about why Work Friend was fired and it sounds like a load of manure to me. My gossip connection decided to take a 3-day weekend, so I may have to wait until he comes in tomorrow and hopefully I can hide in a corner with him to find out the details.

In good news, it’s getting cold tonight. The S-word has been bandied about by them as talks about weather. The tourists are getting nervous.

rosie’s sig to all!
