I have seen a lot if interviews (not about this issue specifically) with DT supporters and the level of cognitive dissonance is amazing. The new level of support for sexual assault (and the utter lack of comprehension about consent) is truly frightening.
I have seen some stuff in my time and I do know beautiful women don’t end up socialising with billionaire men by accident. As a general proposition, there is a general game afoot, the rules of which are not the same as apply to you and me down the local bar on a Friday night.
It is the same for sports stars and the beautiful young women who somehow manage to end up in the exclusive areas of a club or back stage.
This is not blue collar life and it’s not a polite middle class world. If you want to be a part of that world then you know the price of admission before you go in and you can leave any time you want. Some how, though, a poor girl from East Europe married Donald Trump. It was a romantic chance meeting, right? And they just fell in love …
What we know we know from what the narcissistic fool himself blurted out - I haven’t seen any girls speaking out so far.
This is a rationalization, not an excuse. There were “rules” to slave behavior as well – it doesn’t mean it wasn’t rape when a master had sex with one of his slaves (without the power to refuse, there is no possibility of consent).
It doesn’t matter if some billionaires and powerful men think it’s okay to grope and assault women. It doesn’t even matter if some women decide to hang out with these guys knowing that they will do this and are okay with it (as if the billionaires could know with certainty which women have tacitly decided to accept being groped and which ones aren’t okay with it). It’s still wrong to grope and assault women. It’s very, very wrong.
I don’t want to go so far as to say you’re actively avoiding it then, becuase I know I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to the news, but you can certainly google these things.

Thanks for being generous enough of spirit to accept I hadn’t seen anything, I’ll take a look.
It’s interesting that the sexual assault narrative is a little different than I usually see - I often see “Well, that woman is lying when she said he did that” - I don’t usually see “That man is lying about what he said he did.”
Yes, people lie about sexual conquests all the time. But this is about assault, not attractiveness, or star quality, or money.
I have to wonder how many of these same men have busted out the #NotAllMen when a woman talked about her own experiences being treated the way Trump says he treats women.
Where have you been? I’m in my late forties and they’d been teaching us in school (so over thirty years ago) forever that if someone was intent on raping you, one of your options was to just let it happen. Why? To prevent that little known issue of escalation, like to being beaten or murdered. No way in hell if that happened, would it imply anything but rape and certainly never consent. Christ.
And I really thought most supporters would’ve been taken aback by this. But I should’ve known better. When the last of the Josh Duggar a candle broke, I knew good, religious women who still defended him because their focus was on the supposed smear attack being perpetrated against his family’s good name. What he did was irrelevant. Apparently the same applies here.
I do not want to know these types of people any longer. Human fail.
Man: Doc, I keep having this incredible urge to put my penis in the pickle slicer at work. It’s overwhelming!
Doc: Well, then, go ahead and do it.
…
Man: Okay, doc, I gave into the urge and put my penis into the pickle slicer at work.
Doc: And what happened?
Man: We both got fired.
I’ll make it easy for you. Treat women with the same dignity and respect that you would a man. You wouldn’t grab a man’s crotch without his permission, right? Well, there you go.
You wouldn’t just assume that every man wants you to kiss him, right? Or tell him that he’s handsome? Or comment on his nice physique?
Don’t assume that about a woman, either.
Oh - but you don’t want to kiss men, and you do want to kiss ladies? Too bad. This is not about what you want. The other party gets to decide if they want to be kissed. You can ask, if you want, but you can’t just assume, and you have to take no for an answer.
Presumably, you don’t have any trouble not forcing your attentions on the men around you. OR, for that matter, on the grandmothers, the uggos, the fatties, or the lesbos. I’m sure men are capable of not forcing themselves on the rest of the female kind as well, provided they care enough.
If you weren’t a mod, I’d put your dumb ass on ignore.
I was correct in what I said. You need proof: Bill Clinton. Rapist and Philander-in-Chief. But you libs think the sun shines out of his ass. His actions were a helluva lot worse than what Trump said.
Both Clinton and Trump have been accused of rape and/or sexual assault. One of them, Trump, has bragged about sexually assaulting women (and there is video).
And no, liberals don’t think “the sun shines out of [Bill’s] ass”.
Once again I’ll hold out a tiny shred of hope that Clothahump might be interested in actual discussion instead of sniping. Prove all these guys wrong, Clothahump – show the Dope that you’re capable of actually discussing a political topic with thought and reason and not just dismissiveness.
You know, this whole comment comes off like junior high bathroom smut by little boys who have never been within grabbing range of the real thing. Since you metaphorically “grab” guys by their dong or balls, but can’t actually “grab” a woman by her snatch, it has that aura of not really knowing what he’s talking about.
Yeah, yeah, he meant cop a submarine feel. But it still sounds like a 13yo speaking from badass-y ignorance.
And he was on his third marriage when he made those comments.
He might have been worth taking seriously if he’d paid his dues - got elected to state assembly and then governor of New York, or got elected to congress and eventually Senator from New York. Spoiled rich kid likes him some shortcuts, though, and thinks he deserves the prize just for showing up.
I did. Clinton had to pay $850k to Paula Jones for her case against him.
Juanita Broaddrick:
For sure, let’s not forget Monica and her cum-stained dress.
And I have yet to hear a liberal say anything against Clinton for all this. But every time I turn around, it seems like he’s talking to a crowd of you and you’re cheering your asses off for him.
Wait, is Bill Clinton running for president?
(from one of those damn liberals that called him out for it when it came to light)
If it needs to be restated, at post 26 I said this:
This changes some of what I posted upthread - a case of my becoming enlightened, of my ignorance being fought.
Further, I will refine “So, not likely consensual” above and restate it as it’s almost certainly not consensual, especially when the “rank” or social status of the toucher is higher than that of the one being touched. That is often a precursor to sexual harassment.
I have to add that Republicans like Clothahump also forget conveniently about double jeopardy. They really just love to see authoritarians get the power to ignore the constitution.
Incidentally, that is not excusing what Bill Clinton might had done, but the fact is that he was made to pay with impeachment investigations and court settlements that IIRC even Paula Jones and others accepted or had their cases thrown out of court or ignored by the prosecutors back then.
The point is that the “not helping really” crowd is ignoring that now Trump should have to get his feet put to the fire for his improprieties. Just like Clinton did. Maybe not with impeachment or criminal prosecutions, but by not being allowed to get into the White House.
