Any time I ship a package via USPS, the clerk at the post office always asks if I’m shipping anything “flammable, perishable, hazardous, or liquid.” That seems to be a standard set of questions that they are supposed to ask about.
I have mailed a package to Oregon. It had no liquids but it does of course have glass. It was marked FRAGILE. Now if I had been shipping, say, airline size bottle of spirits. I would have said there’s glass or breakable items, but not told the whole story of what was in there. In short I would lie. The USPS can’t possible examine all packages, especially ones that are relatively small. I am in Kansas of course, and I have in the past mailed a few spirits, although not large bottles. And I have mailed other liquids, like BBQ sauce. Never had an issue reported.
OK, Plan B (or C) is all set. Got the box of goodies repackaged and I’ll take it to the Post Office tomorrow on my lunch break.
A box with some Oregon coast swag is now on its way to the Cowboy State!
I’ll update the sent list later this evening or tomorrow.
I’m hoping the package I sent arrives Monday or Tuesday.
My package is now in the hands of USPS, making its way somewhere westward.

Tracking advice is that it cleared Aust customs Friday (they couldn’t have looked very hard, or maybe the parcel was simply deemed innocuous) and was handed over to the air carrier yesterday.
Again, I counsel patience.

I just got home from work and found a package from Topeka, Kansas!
An Official Kansas City Chiefs coffee cup and shot glass, a large shot glass/beer taster and a couple of coasters from Norseman Brewing Company, a State of Kansas shot glass, and a beautiful afghan (is it homemade?).
As I type this I am breaking in the Kansas City Chiefs shot glass with very small batch Bourbon Whiskey from Adrift in Long Beach, Washington. Thank you!
