Yep! Got home from a long weekend trip Monday night and there was a package from Wyoming on the back porch. Lots of cool Wyoming goodies: two shot glasses, bison jerky, a t-shirt, a cowboy sticker, a cowboy key chain, and last but not least, a lump of genuine Wyoming coal!
Way cool! Thanks!
My package is making its way to North Carolina. Lied to the nice lady at the post office when asked if there was anything liquid in the package. She says it should be there no later than Friday.
Wrap everything for shipping, then freeze the whole package, By the time you get to the UPS Store, the insides will still be frozen but the package will have warmed to outside temps to touch. But I doubt you could freeze 86 proof booze in a home freezer.
I have sent mine today, on its journey across the pond. I have a tracking number like @penultima_thule but I think it gives both sender and sendee addresses on the post office website so I won’t give it here. But it’s going!
I’m sorry I slowed down the SGE, but I rushed only to get slowed down .
I sent off my package today to the great who-knows-where. Track it via UPS here LH236456217US.
I received my package from the Ausie down-under, penultima_thule & this is what I got:
Jaffras-like plain M&Ms, but single color (red) with a flavor (orange-chocolate). Of course, chocolate on the inside. Jaffras are better on the “chocolate melts in your mouth…” because the candy coating is thick.
A touring map of Sydney to Melbourne. The map has a blerb about HUME MOTORWAY/HIGHWAY/FREEWAY & PRINCES HIGHWAY/FREEWAY.
Next are Christmas Baubles. Even the packaging is pretty. One bauble is kind of orangey-blue & the other kind of meadowy. They both have Australian animals. A joey & baby koala, plus adult kangaroo & koala.
Next I got the shots, of course. Each shot has an animal on it. Two koalas & kangaroos, a platypus & my favorite, Emu!
No, that’s not it. Now for the strange🤔. Veta-Vita Vegeman. No, but close. Its Vegemite Vit B for vitality.
Last, but not least . I got kangaroo balls bottle/can opener. Wait a minute! Hey, didn’t Czarcasm get these last year?… His Kitty, Pixel, likes his can opener. She rubs her face on it [whispers] & licks it.
Again I am sorry for the wait. Cant wait until my person receives their shots. Until then.
Oh I got those once in an exchange years ago and adored them. Since that time I bought them in a store that had all sorts of international candies, and once I ordered them online. It’s terrible eating the last one, they are so good. There was another candy, a bar called Cherry Ripe. Mashed cherry filling in a dark chocolate coating. Sublime.
So I got TWO shot glasses, a sweet mini flask, a coffee/bourbon mug, pecans, a koozie, and a couple bottles of premium Jack from Labdad(not shown: the magnet that kept falling
into the bourbon mug).
You did nothing of the sort. We’re all here to have fun and it sounds like you made out like a bandit! Unlike the Secret Santa there’s no deadline to send out the packages. One year it took me months to send out my package because I was having a custom glass made for labdad and the artist was behind on her orders. It’s all good.
I got a package from across the pond! I’m buried in thanksgiving prep tonight so I try to get to it tomorrow morning before all hell breaks loose. But I got a package!!!
Ok so I finally got a chance to open my box from Teuton!
Included in it were:
Half a dozen little candy sticks
A Wales sticker
A Christ Church Oxford keychain
A London 2012 Olympic games mascot plushie keychain that I think will hang from my car’s rearview mirror.
A London refrigerator magnet
And finally not one but TWO Oxford shot glasses! One has the cityscape depicted on it, the other has the Oxford University coat of arms. This is perhaps the coolest shot glass I now have in my collection!
I got a box! It’s from dogbutler! First there’s a really cool shotglass from North Carolina State University, with the wolf logo. Then we have a #1 fan glove, the kind you wear at the game with the pointing finger. A bottle of Redneck BBQ rub I’m itching to try. It says you can sprinkle it on popcorn even, and I love different popcorn flavors. Also a small bag of pickles. Pickles make me remember my folks, who made pickles every summer. And then a little bottle of Lone Rider Bourbon Whiskey, giving proof(snort) you can send booze through the mail.
I love it all!
And I may have the barest, absolutely slightest connection to NCSU. Some time ago I was watching a PBS historical program and one of the commentators had a surname from my family history. She was a professor at the school. So I dug up the email at the school and asked if we might be related. My maternal grandmother had the same maiden name. The prof replied and said she wasn’t into genealogy but her husband was. The name was her married name. So she put me in touch with him and yes, we are VERY distantly related. In 1722 our mutual ancestor came to this side of the Atlantic. I am descended from one of his sons, and this other gentleman is descended from another son. We worked it out, with documentation, that we are seventh cousins, once removed. Kind of fun to know.
It contains a big bag of roasted coffee beans, some very nice looking chocolate bars, some boxes of jello (and we don’t get that here), some very nice looking tea, a laminated map of Portland and some colourful plastic syringes!
