Here it is! The MMP!

VWife: “The house is dirty. Time for you to get busy, I got NASCAR to watch.”

She does* like *the Bread of Affliction…

It’s 9:00 a.m., it’s raining, and Gordie is growling at the umbrella stand.:dubious: Typical day off.

***Shana Tova Y’all! ***

Welcome back, lunch!

flytrap, I like cleaning, and cooking. And yet I’m still single.

spidey, when I lived in da hood, the police had a chase through my apartment complex. It was like living in an episode of Cops

And since we are under NHL lockout #3 in the Bettman era:mad:, I posted this commentary on Facebook: - YouTube

Up early went for brekkie then I changed the cat box, folded laundry, e,pitied the dishwasher and vacuumed the house. Oh what a wild woman I am.

me ems ran and got me some sudophed…the good/better stuff from behind the pharmacy counter as I have a raging sinus headache that Advil just isn’t touching and I generally feel like crap. So far seems to be working as I got all the above chores done once I took it.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday and cleaning day and Jewish days to everyone! Today we took Mouse for his Sunday visit to see his mam and siblings. Nana found 2 ticks on poor little Mouse that I missed, one in his ear and one between his toes. Her little brood gets ticks EVERY SINGLE DAY, so it’s going to be a bit of work keeping them off Mouse, I suspect. If I knew a tick repellant WORKED, I’d get it for our little guy, at least. I suspect Nana’s yard habors more ticks than ours does, but ya never know. I’ve tried the monthly-stuff-in-a-tube, but he still gets ticks; maybe his second application, a month after his first, will work better than that first one did.

I have about 50 small jalapenos to play with, since I got them at the dollar store and they come in big bags like that. Will have to find something to do with them. I’m not a big salsa fan, but MrTao is, so I will try making some with flavor rather than heat. Not against heat, mind you, but when it overrides the flavor then it’s just uck as far as I’m concerned.

Stuff them with cream cheese, wrap them in bacon and bake or grill them.

:: Drool :: If I was not so full of lasagna I’d have to make me some of 'em. A local restaurant calls 'em “Gator Eggs.” Yummy they are. Also try marinated cube steak cut in strips wrapped around 'em then grilled. They’re also good wrapped in duck and grilled. Matter of fact that’s the only way I will eat duck.

N.O.L. was goooooood if’n I do say so myself. Sallit, lasagna, garlic bread and mandarin orange cake. Plus the requisite Bloody Mary’s. Everybody left full and happy. Dishwasher is a washin’ away and da bear is content.

Life is good.

Even though my friend Deborah declared me an honorary Jew, I don’t know what Shana Tova is.

My ankle hurts and I don’t know why. It feels like I sprained it but I didn’t twist or luxate of any other ankle type foolishness. I’m going to spend the rest of the day with my foot on the footstool. And btw, prime rib with baked taties for din-din. What a Sunday supper!

Shana Tova to all who celebrate.

Did some work stuff and am now going outside to patch and paint. Yipee!

Hope to return to actual MMP participation in the coming week. Work has been…busy.

Hugs all.

Fun day cxl’d due to someone’s foot sprain as there isn’t place in the roller coaster seat to hold the crutches. :frowning:
Jr wants to do things like make own lunch & bring it to the table. This consists of moving one crutch, switch plate to other hand, move other crutch, repeat. Ummm, no! I’m not sure what the ending to this scenario is but I’m pretty sure it’s a disaster. Therefore, just hanging around the house & taking it out on OBL; judging by the waggly tail I don’t think he minds too much.

“For a good year.” Rosh Hashana, “The Head of the Year” begins tonight. Jews get there stuff together for the new year and the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, Wednesday, I think.

Watch me squick out Swampy: the pickled fart blossoms I made are mighty tasty.

BBBobbio just ick! You ate a pickled fart!

I’m still full from N.O.L. so no dindin for me. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house so I have steaks marinatin’ and beer chillin’. Go Me!

Home, exhausted, had much fun. Sporadic tales over the next few days as the exhaustion leaves and focus returns.

Went to the Fairgrounds for the Greek Festival(sponsored by the local Orthodox Church0, then to the other end of the Fairgrounds to visit some friends at the Pagan Fest. I also protested the NHL lockout by occupying a barstool at the bar across from the arena.

Whew! Home at last!! We left around 7, went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast (doable before 8AM - no waiting!) then to Food Lion for ice and a jug of water. Over the bridge to the marina where our daughter was waiting. It took about half an hour to get everything aboard, untied, unplugged and cast off.

Lovely day on the bay - high overcast kept it from getting too hot. The engine putted along flawlessly and we arrived at the broker’s marina a bit after 4. Once again, **FCD **amazed me with his mad boat handling skillz and we got tied up, unloaded, and on our way home, with a stop for a sammich since we were all stahvink!

We got back to our marina a little before 7 - **FCD **was taking daughter home (she got dropped off this morning) so I came straight back here to unload my car and feed the fish. He should be home shortly.

The room is rocking, which is pretty weird because it wasn’t particularly rough on the water today. Close to Annapolis, it got a bit choppy, but we weren’t in that for more than an hour. We’re driving back next week to check on the boat, and with luck, we’ll have it sold soon. Or we’ll be reversing this trip in the spring…

Din din tonight will be dollar-store hash. Which is to say leftover sloppy joe mix, sauteed corn and mushrooms, layered in a glass baking dish with mashed potatoes on top. So, Frugal Shepherd Pie. I had also picked up a nice wedge of white chedder with pepper in it, and I used a microplane on that to mix it in with the potatoes.

O.M.G. Just eating the chedder shavings like that was SO GOOD!!! Amazing. Loved it.

Anyway, threw some broiled and chopped jalapeno in all that too; it’s cooling off now, but looks quite pretty. Unfortunately, I, as usual, made enough for a family+leftovers, when in reality I’m probably the only one that will eat it.

Bonus is that if it comes out great, it’s all dollar store stuff! Except for the ground beef.
Doublebonus is that if it comes out gross, it’s about 3 bucks lost. :stuck_out_tongue:

Shana Tova, Cute One.
Mrs. Plant v.3.0 lit candles and we had apples and honey.
