Had somebody not show up at a worksite today. Normally I’d be full of grrr but this is so uncharacteristic of this person I’m actually a little worried. Thus I have been on the hunt to find out what’s goin’ on.
warPontiff feel better soon!
WetOne bronchitis seems to be a catalyst for people to quit smokin’ at least amongst people I know. I have several friends who quit durin’/after a bout of bronchitis. Not that I’d recommend that particular way cause bronchitis is, well, ick.
Sticky perhaps they’d recognize you’re a princess if you wore a tiara. One must look the part.
tao cats apparently have one mission in life and that is to escape from wherever they are no matter how cushy they have it.
mmmmmmms I had steak for N.O.L.. Leftover from the weekend with some leftover friggin’ good N.O.T.. YUM! Plus a cupcake!
Yay on bein’ moved Pearl but boo to unpackin’.
Jim I hadn’t considered there’d be a severe shortage of text mittens.
lieu good luck with the court thingy. Yeah, you’d think they’d be a little nicer to somebody actually helpin’ out. I mean you coulda just looked the other way.
Leftover smoked chikin with squish and green beans will be dindin tonight. Then I have Vestry meetin’ over to the church house.
A coworker just sent me pics of his daughter at LSU. Pretty girl, she’s in a skiff on the bayou, rifle in hand and there’s at least 3 alligators in the boat. One of them’s over 10 feet long.
Chicken Parts, (legs or thighs work best)
Red or blush wine
soy sauce
garlic powder
onion
green pepper
3/4 C shredded cheese
tomato
Parsley sage, rosemary & thyme (or whatever herbs you like)
Marinate chicken pieces in Wine*, soy sauce and garlic (score or tenderize them first) (best for at least a few hours. If you can’t the will still pick up some of ther marinade flavor. you can also marinate overnight) Saute them in the marinade and add what herbs you like**. (they should be white on both sides but not done in the middle) Remove from pan, and place in baking dish. Rough chop a whole onion & green pepper & cook in marinade until cooked down. Pour on top of chicken. Bake for 35 mins. Add favorite shredded cheese***, back in the oven for 15 mins. Add 1 totato on top; diced fresh. Bake 5 more mins.. This is my absolute favorite way to do chicken.
I normally use White Zinfindel, but today am using a Muscato.
*** Mexican shredded works well for this
Gross. I wish I had advice for you but sinuses have never been an affliction I suffer from. Do you have access to a first aid kit or something that might have helpful drugs?
Sticky Benadryl [sup]TM[/sup] is good but I cannot take it and function. Makes me drowsy in no time. I take daytime OTC stuff which helps but I’m not all happy/skippy/whee like the commercials would have us believe. Any prescription stuff I’ve ever taken makes me drowsy or has the same effect as OTC stuff. Thus, I deal with this in September (ragweed) and April/May (Oak and Pecan). Just hate this fuzzy headed feelin’. ICK!
BBBobbio yeah I use Claritin and it gets me through the day. I’m still kinda miserable but can at least function. Stoopid ragweed.
Forgot to say, I’m home. I gave in and called it a day. Ima go steam some squishes, cook some green beans and make some cornbread just cause I want me some cornbread.
Mmm, cornbread. (I am an unabashed northerner. I make my cornbread with sugar and I top it with butter and honey. It is delicious, I don’t care who you are.)
I’m a little excited because I’ve been a contract consultant for a few months and they’ve just offered me a fulltime position. Oh happy day!
I’m hooooooooome!!! I survived my first day at work and I was actually productive!
My computer wasn’t waiting for me, so **FCD **spent an hour or so drawing diagrams on his white board trying to explain to me how things are supposed to work. Somewhere in there he took me to the supply cabinet to get some paper/pens/pencils/sticky notes/stapler so that I could begin to function. Then he gave me 2 big fat binders to read thru - actually it turned out to be a good refresher, since I haven’t done any drafting in years. Then about 10 or so, my computer arrived, and I got to spend some time getting it set up to my satisfaction. I’m supposed to have 2 screens, but they’re waiting for an adapter or something, so in the interim, I just have one. Oh well…
I learned how to do my time card, got my badge, and went for a walk with the company flake. I thought she was taking me somewhere to do some security stuff. Nope. According to FCD, she takes all new employees on this little walk. He apologized. Had I known, I’d have been busy. Oh well… And I also did my first 2 drawings with a minimum of cussing. The last version of AutoCAD I used was about 12 years older than the one I’ve got now, and it changed enough to make me almost stabby. I was able to figure out what I needed to do with random clicking, so there’s that. Tomorrow, I’ll need to ask Kathy to send me more work - lots more work. I’m a pretty fast draftsman.
The bummer part is that it was a gorgeous day and I was stuck inside. My cubicle has a floor-to-ceiling window, so I could look out and see what a gorgeous day I was missing. I’m taking in a plant tomorrow to brighten my little corner of the company. Anyway, despite missing a lovely day of yardwork, I’m satisfied with my new occupation. I do need to gussy up my cubicle - should I fill it with pictures of cats???
It’s pretty cool out here in Montreal, temperature-wise. Probably not above 20 degrees Celsius, and with a breeze.
I don’t know what 20 degrees Celsius is in Fahrenheit, though I can actually mathematically convert it if I had a pencil and paper. It’s one of the few mathematical things I can actually do.
Mrs. Plant’s favorite Mexican restaurant is closing down.
This is all my fault for not taking her to eat tortilla coup often enough.
I shall apologize profusely when I get home.
What??! Get back in here and spill on the details of your first day of work, **FCM. **
In not so new and interesting news, work sucked (I’m actually still here), my systems are down, and I watch myself falling further and further behind every damn day. It’s demoralizing and depressing.
The good news is I’m going home, and I’m going home on time. Like right now.
Yay for a good first day bein’ a productive member of society again MOOOOOOM!
Yay for goin’ home on time Taters!
Yay for full-time position Innie! I know I was callin’ you Sticky but we have one of those already so you get to be Innie. Nicknames are all the rage in the MMP!
Home from a not too bad Vestry meetin’. It’s good when things are good as in no financial problems or stuff fallin’ down/apart.
BBBobbio GMTA! That’s the first thing I thought when I read flytrap’s post.
I have taken some night night sinus stuff so Ima go lie on the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time which I pray shall be shortly.
