Here it is! The MMP!

Long day. Thank Og for the glorious Autumn-like weather or I would have been very blurfy tonight.
Didn’t read, not gonna make excuses. Stay safe if you’re in Leslie’s path, or near wildfires, or anywhere you don’t really want to be.

Gonna immerse myself in a few more Tennants then go sleepybye

It rained!! It rained!! (Snoopy happy dance) We’ve had 49 days without our normal liquid sunshine. The lawns were brown and the fire threat was HIGH! It still is, but every drop helps. We have 4 (or maybe 5) wild fires going on the other side of the state, but they’re getting them under control. This, the wet side, has had a couple little ones that our champion firefighters put out quickly.

It’s going to get warm again later this week, but Fall is around the corner.

LOL! It rained for like 15 whole minutes, picu! Still, it was a little moisture.

I swear, the post about FCM’s first day wasn’t there when I told her to get back in there and tell us about it.

I believe that became politically incorrect about the time of the Frito Bandito.

I love that the days are now shorter because it means the nights (and mornings!) are now cool.

I feel a renewed will to live!

Preach on!!

Except that the last couple of rather stormy days, I have felt like a thick brick of felt wool. Wet wool. I just want to sleep, and not move. And for no real reason, unless it’s because I didn’t have a bunch of coffee. :stuck_out_tongue: I am currently blaming the weather, but I don’t really want that to be the case. I don’t like the idea that my entire mood and energy level is dependant on the barometer. :dubious:

: waves :

Good thing I don’t get seasick.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 61 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 and dry which means the dang ragweed is rampant. Rampant ragweed makes for a sinusy stuffed up bear and a sinusy stuffed up bear is not a happy bear. ICK!

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I want to stay inside and hidden but I just know that ain’t gonna happen.

Oh well, Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Blurf.

'Twas a tad nippy pedaling ass to work today.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. nice and cool outside today.

used to work with a woman who always called that “nipple-y” - :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m guessing an MMP thread is no place to talk serious but it seems to me everyone
underestimates how much difference 2 basic things make in their lives: natural light and airflow. I spent the summer house hunting and am always thinking, why don’t they plan it so you can get light and cross ventilation? the barsteds!

Jackie - an MMP thread is THE place for ANYTHING. Welcome, btw. Did you bring chocolate, beer, and kitteh or puppeh pics for offerings?

I’m taking everything off my desk and putting it in a box and if I need it, I will find it. I’m not lying, I cannot see the top of my desk because I haven’t been bothered to put anything away. It’s just piles and piles. So much for the paper-less society.

Of course, any fuds or personal items will remain on the desk.

Last night I dug the coffee maker out of the box it had been hiding in and cleaned it up. I even figured out how to get the timer function to work sans instructions so this morning I woke up to the delicious smell of coffee wafting through the apartment. Now if only someone would invent an auto-bacon and egg fryer.

peedin, I only started having a job with a desk a few months ago. I spent 2 days clearing off all the leftover papers from the previous owner and was saddened and surprised when a week later it looked just like it did when I started.

I’ve long advocated for topless weather girls on TV. Their entire job is to point out places on the map that are nipply.

A paperirkless environment. It is to laugh. HAH! We’re goin’ (the pretense is have gone) paperless except for all the papers.

Jackie what Rosie said. The MMP is the place for anything so post away and welcome!

Innie what you do is place strips of bacon on a George Foreman grill before you go to bed. Wake up, plug in/turn on said grill, go back to sleep and wake to the smell of yummy bacon goodness. Don’t step on the grill. If you do, wrap your foot in bubblewrap and go to irk anyway.

Computerization of the office environment has caused a marked increase in the consumption of paper, not a decrease. Before, production of paper on a typewriter was a lot of irk, PCs and copiers have taken out a significant portion of the sweat. Seriously.

I’m waiting for the day when I can plug my brain directly into MS Office, skipping the keyboard and mouse entirely.

Oooohg! I want one of those, too!

I’m still waiting for my company to join the ranks of those with telecommuters

Tell me about it BBBobbio! Here’s a wonderful “example” of our “paperless” system. I just finished an exit on a participant. One form can be done and sent via email with a copy archived electronically, no problem. The other form is a pdf read only so it can’t be typed on and thus must be printed, filled out then scanned and a copy kept for apparently for all of eternity.

Yet this is touted as savin’ paper.

It pays well. I keep remindin’ myself of that.
