Forgot to share a funny from last night. **FCD **had bought a chew toy for Cozmo - it was a blue plaid shark. Daughter was goofing around with it and she went over to the aquarium and made it “swim” past the glass. ALL OF THE FISH HID!!! :eek: And as they peeked out, she “swam” it again and they went back into their little nooks. Cracked us up!!! Apparently we have a tank full of stupid!
We made the executive decision last night - tomorrow, the boat goes to a broker in Annapolis. It’ll be taken out of the water and set in the boatyard while it’s on the market. With the Annapolis boat show coming up next month, we might just get lucky and get it sold fast. Otherwise, we’ll just pay to have it stored there for a while. I’m pretty sure I’m relieved about this. One less thing.

My friday started off great by waking up 15 minutes after I wanted to leave for work. I think I have a habit of about once a month turning off the alarm in my sleep. It’s annoying.
All I know about football is my spousal unit roots for the Cowboys and hates the Redskins. If the entirety of the NFL disappeared from the face of the earth, I wouldn’t care in the least.
**FCD **left early to get the boat ready to go tomorrow. He’ll come pick me up around 2, and we’ll go home and get my car, then drive to the marina, which is just south of Annapolis. We’ll leave one vehicle up there, then get some supper before driving home. And tomorrow, we should get underway by 8. It’ll be an all-day adventure, so I’ll need to make some sammiches and get some snacks and beverages for the trip.
The exciting part will be getting to the marina. We need 6’ of water. The creek has a low tide of 5’. We have to get there at high tide, which is around 4:30 or so. Timing will be everything. I’m guessing we’ll try to be in the general vicinity early, then ride the rising tide in.
For a Friday, today’s going to be annoying. I had to drop something off for my boss before work, at some point I have to go get it again, I’m supposed to give it to ‘Eric’ but we have, like, five. And we have a just about company-wide training session in the middle of the day (of course our Fridays only last until noon anyway…)
Since we are a taliking about sports, I have a short story
I had taken a few months off of the music biz and taken a job running a small neighborhood bar. Well that spot in late February came around where there are really no sports on, well some but none of the big ones, and the ESPN guys are trying to pretend that they like curling. I opened and checked the schedule and saw nada so I wrote on the chalkboard outside…
" Sorry no sports today, Aliens came down and took all the balls"
I thought this was rather funny and creative, oops, apparently not. Patrons demanded to know what happened, was our satellite and cable cut off? Was it Terrorism? In short they freaked out. Needless to say my owner told me to never do that again. Le sigh, humorless idjits.

Boring day today, but mail FINALLY came for an appointment to extend my unemployment benefits, yay! It’s been a worry, because we recently moved but, even after forwarding my mail, mail was STILL going to the old mail box. /cry Luckily I still have the old mailbox key, and even luckier, nobody’s been renting the old place that I can see, so it’s been easy to check. THIS one, the important one, made it through, yay! Also maybe a week or two’s worth of work through Labor-Ready, we’ll see. It wouldn’t hurt. Supposedly my old place is going to be picking up people again in October, but I don’t know, yet, whether I need to wait for an opening to be posted, or whether I need to just go down there with an app and my test results <whenever they come in> and hope it gets put on top of the pile, which consists mostly of MY applications anyway, lol. I am stubborn

Aside from merely existing, what’s wrong with it?
I’ve been oddly productive today. So far, I’ve replaced the ceiling light fixture by the front door, replaced two light switches with motion sensors so there’s no more fumbling to find the switch or forgetting to turn off the lights in the laundry room or pantry, replaced a bunch of other old and cruddy switches around the house, rebuilt the master bedroom closet shelving and built some shoe racks for the closet.
I still need to rewire the phone switch, run a new phone extension, and make dinner. Whee!
