Here’s why I am voting for Donald Trump.

No, my opinion is not wrong.

How do you feel about his plan to kill the families of suspected terrorists?

This whole post is just vandalism.

Typical. Why don’t you tell me who you are voting for, and why…in a vague kind of way?

Then please, by all means, leave.

I’d say it was a little extreme.

Telling me to leave is just embezzlement.

Then by all means, stay

So you are backtracking on your embezzlement? That’s just cowardice.

Ok. But do you support the killing of innocent people for no particular reason? Is it a benefit of his candidacy, to you? Or just, like, an unfortunate drawback?

Is there anything Trump could say or do that would change your opinion of him?

No, John Mace has it, your opinion is wrong because the facts shows that it is very unlikely that the Republicans and Democrats in congress will follow with new tax rule changes at the levels needed to entice companies to set shop back in the USA, at the same time Trump has mentioned that punitive action is on the table to make the companies come back to the USA (So much for enticing). Making laws for that will make more companies flee the USA rather than keeping jobs here, congress will not go for that.

A chimera is indeed not a priority for other candidates.

Well, given the abject cowardice demonstrated by your replies, I think rudeness is warranted.

It’s impossible to take you seriously when you’re afraid of Islamic terrorism. Bumblebees kill more Americans than Islamic terrorists. Do you want the Big Strong Gubbermint to protect you from the Mean Nasty Bumblebees? Are you So Vewwy Afwaid of a bunch of insects that you want more Big Government intrusion in your life to protect your sorry ass? Maybe we can extend the powers of the TSA to tucking you in at night, too.

Trump’s got you running scared. You rant and rave and act all tough and you’re terrified for your life and it’s just disgusting. Republicans give lip service to individual responsibility and then they call out the Government to do every little thing whenever they’re piss-scared of some nonsense.

Disappointing. Simply disappointing.

Like I said, I certainly don’t question Trump’s ability to advance his own personal agenda. He likes to be the center of attention, he likes to have a lot of people admiring him, he likes to have a lot of money, and he’s succeeded spectacularly in achieving that. Props to him for living his dream.

What Trump hasn’t ever shown is any indication of giving two shits about anything other than his own personal agenda of acquiring more attention and fame and money.

Why should I believe that Trump has any interest at all in “getting things done” for the American people as a whole, as opposed to simply using the American people to support his perpetual insatiable ego trip as a self-perceived Very Important Person?
I don’t care what his plan is. He is the only one talking about even doing it. Elect someone else and we’ll never get that stuff addressed.
All the evidence indicates that if we elect Donald Trump, we’ll never get that stuff addressed either. All we’ll get is a somewhat richer Donald Trump with a smugly gratified ego from having added the title of POTUS to his resume, and a worse situation for everyone else.

This is why rational voters generally like to know in advance what a candidate’s plan is for actually accomplishing the things they claim they’ll accomplish if elected. It’s a useful technique for distinguishing the practical politicians who actually have an interest in the tedious detail work of governing from the unscrupulous blowhards who don’t really care what they say as long as it gets them attention.
I don’t need to. Why should I? Did you really read the OP? My post is “Here’s Why I’m Voting For Trump” not “Why You Should Vote For Trump”…
Your post, in case you hadn’t noticed, was posted in a forum called “Great Debates”. People post here when they want to debate matters of opinion with other people who may not agree with them, and whom they think they can persuade to agree with them through the medium of reasoned argument.

Of course, some people also post here for the purpose of “witnessing”, i.e., expressing their faith in a particular belief or opinion which has no basis in reason and which they don’t consider open to argument. I’m getting the impression that that’s basically what you’ve got going on here.

So Apple stays, big deal. Maybe it isn’t about enticing them to come home, maybe its about cranking it up on the other end, tariffs etc. There are a hundred ways to do this.
Glad to hear it. What, for example, is one of the specific “hundred ways” to either relocate or penalize a major international manufacturer so that the prosperity of Americans as a whole will be significantly increased by it? You vaguely mention “tariffs etc.”, but what would US tariffs on, e.g., Apple products accomplish except to make Apple products much more expensive and less affordable for US consumers?
I am not a trade negotiator, so I don’t have any real answers. But Trump has the best answers of any of the candidates out there on this subject. None of the others even bring up this subject.
Because it’s a silly scam. No candidate who is seriously interested in actually doing the job of a head of state would commit themselves to such a flagrantly futile boast. For charlatans like Trump, though, whose only real interest is their personal aggrandizement, it doesn’t matter what they say as long as it attracts public attention.

Never.

I have a pretty good idea of what he means when he’s talking about killing the families of ISIS, he has the right idea, but he’s in the wrong ball park, once he gets in as POTUS, he gets his national security meeting (pay attention to video of Obama back in December of 2008 immediately after his first national security briefing prior to being sworn in. He was different after that) then he’ll be put in his place and things will fall into perspective. But I think that he will come away from that differently than out current POTUS did, with a more reserved speech and public approach. The issue we are speaking of really lies in the hands of other agencies.

Said all of that to say that many of the families of these ISIS guys are from villages that are incubators for this stuff. Whole communities live and breathe this jihad crap. No, it is not as widespread as “moderate” Islam, obviously. But I think Trump is referring to the whole tribal thing over there. If you don’t understand that that whole region is tribal, not national, then you’ll miss it.

Absolutely. A multitude of things.

My opinion is my opinion. It is not wrong. Sitting around thinking you can predict the future based on the US Congress is wrong.

You’re not serious, right?

Right?

LOL.

I understand (in a way) where Einstein is coming from. I think Trump is a buffoon and will never be able to pass more than a token of his promises. Einstein is voting for how he wants things to be, not how it will actually play out.

But IMO Sanders is selling the same thing; there’s no way he’ll get many of his programs passed. People who are voting for Sanders have to know this but they are voting for how they want it to be.

There is a strong anti-establishment mood among voters. Trump and Sanders are the two leading anti-establishment candidates.

Of course I am. I’m just saying what everyone around here is thinking: Islamic radicalism is not worth worrying about if you’re an American, and any American who worries about it is cowardly.

For some unknown reason, most people are too nice to say anything. Maybe they think they’re being polite. Maybe they think they’re sparing the feelings of the disadvantaged. I’m just telling it like it is.

It really is amazing how long some people will lie to your face about what they really think about you, don’t you agree? Getting it straight, flat out without varnish, is so refreshing.

Exactly. I am not naive enough to think that the Utopia I imagine America becoming is going to be fulfilled because I voted for Trump. But I won’t sit out a vote, either. I have to vote for someone. All of the candidates are pieces of shit, and Trump is the most palatable piece of shit, so he sits atop the shitpile. It’ll be fun watching a Trump administration. Hell, if the sky didn’t fall after 8 years of Obama, then I’m up for another experiment.

That, my OP, and $5 will get you a glorified coffee at Starbucks.

I’m just baffled at your assumption that I am afraid of Islamic terrorism. I am not afraid of it. How easy for you to throw out an assumption about me, and then using your assumption to call me cowardly.

I said in my OP that I like that Trump will take a more aggressive stance toward Islamic terrorism.

It is naive to think that radical Islamic terrorism poses no long term threat to America, American Interests, and our friends in other parts of the world.

It isn’t fear. When I have a rat in my basement, I am not afraid of it. It is a nuisance, and can cause lots of problems to my infrastructure, my wiring, my heating/cooling system, and it poses health risks. So, I devise a way to get rid of it. Buy the rat trap, bait it, set it, and wait, and BOOM. Next day, dead rat, no more nuisance. Better find the nest also, or they just keep coming back.

It’s like that.

No, I posted this in “Elections”, not “Great Debates”…
