Here's Your New Wonder Woman

Those pants are terrible. I’m not saying the costume can’t have pants, just not those pants. You cannot fight crime in those things. The only thing you can do in them is hope you don’t have to pee because peeling them off of your ass and hoohaa will be quite difficult.

I think it looks fine. I don’t get the fascination with Linda Carters Wonder Woman. I think that might be why the outfit looks the way it does. If they changed too much from the Linda Carter WW, they would turn off the non-comic book geeks. At the same time, the tight shorts would turn the character into nothing but sex appeal.

The cartoon looks great, but they have the luxury of not having to deal with an actual woman. It’d be great if they could find a competent actress with that kind of musculature, but that’s body builder musculature, and your average actress is miles from it.

Yeah, those shorts make her look hot and not hippy at all.

Hopefully none of the bad guys will be gay males, as I can see it seriously distracting the men

Umm…I kind of like it. Comic book costume usually look a little silly in live action so it gets a little leeway from me.

It combines the second worst part of her current costume (those idiotic pants) with a mediocre rendition of the bodice of her regular costume. Yugh. What’s worse is the bodice is the best part of the current costume - so keeping the current costume intact (minus that 90s-tastic jacket) would have been a major improvement.

On the other hand, I’d thought this show had been shelved…

I’m kind of meh on the costume, but I like Adrianne Palicki, so I WANT to like it. She’s also about six feet tall, so it’ll be hard to make her look short, no matter what she’s wearing.

And get yeast infections.

The top is pretty good.

Wonder Woman’s pet peeve is that nobody knows she has a great ass, too.

I can’t say a word against the costume, really - it’s Wonder Woman, updated fairly sensibly. It’s close enough to the classic concept without getting into that unfortunate mom’s swimsuit territory.

The actress looks a bit vapid and Halloween-costume modelish, though - so I don’t have high hopes.

Considering the very fetishy roots of Wonder Woman (there’s a reason that her powers involve tying people up, and that her powers are affected by binding her wrists), I’m not surprised that a modern interpretation of her costume could resemble fetishwear. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s one of the things that informed the current look.

I’m actually not that upset at the overall look. I do think the pants could be toned down to something matte and breathable, or switched for tights. The actress looks young, yes, but Lynda Carter was very baby-faced when her series started, and it looked good. The series will probably start from the origin with Ms. Prince being very naive and fresh off of her island, so looking like a young thing works… the comic version has been off the island for years, so it makes sense that the comic rendition looks older. I’m a little disappointed that they didn’t get a more zaftig actress, though, but that’s more from being a fan of the Perez take on the character.

My worst problem is that the outfit doesn’t even look like it freaking fits. The bodice is just a little bit tight-looking, but the pants look like they gap in the crotch, there’s no structure, and the boots are all wrinkly and saggy. Hell, my vinyl boots fit me better than those fit her, and I sure as hell didn’t have a someone explicitly designing mine for me. Also, the trim looks cheap.

It looks like a half-assed con costume.

My favorite comment from one of the articles:

Haha. Whatever you say.

My baby sister dressed up in the new costume for last Halloween; she said it was only the second super-heroine costume she’d ever respected.

I don’t see why you need a costume at all - Hugh Jackman kicked ass as Wolverine in jeans and a wife-beater.

Mmmm, Hugh Jackman…

Sorry, what were we talking about?

Exactly. Pants are a good idea. They make a lot more sense than trying to fight bad guys in a bikini bottom. Those are not good pants.

And I don’t believe those bracelet-y thingies will stop bullets, either.

Looks more like she has helium.

It didn’t take Wonderella very long at all to get around to this one.

Judging by what little we know of the main story arc, maybe that’s exactly what it is.
