Heroes 1/29 - "The Fix" (SPOILERS)

The cool thing about AED being Claire’s father would be he’s got powers. If he does have powers, I hope they’re awesome.

Loved the “GULP”

With you about the NIkki/DL/Micah story line. No way Micah could get away with the ATM thefts. He’d be on camera. Anyone else think the psychiatrist is one of AED’s henchmen?
She just seems a little too insistent on meeting Jessica.
So, do you suppose Hiro’s dad also is “special”? That would be pretty cool. Maybe his power is turning the everyday appliance into a phaser cannon.

If he can use his power to get free money, he can use it to turn off a camera.

I’m kinda miffed. I thought we’d get a little more than that small bit of George. Although I did love the “gulp.”

Am I dreaming? For some reason I’m thinking there was a spoof on the Beatle’s “When I’m 64.”

I’m wondering if Daddy Nakamura is actually Mr Lenderman. That might prove… interesting.

Mr Bennett is always so confident even when Haitian guy isn’t around that I think he must have something else going for him. Remember when he put on some glasses and he could see Sylar in the glasses. Perhaps they were special hi-tech glasses but then again maybe his power also has something to do with his vision?

Well, no, he doesn’t automatically have powers because Claire does, because not everyone in the history of the world had powers so someone had to be the first in a particular lineage. There is absolutely no reason to think that AED has powers just because Claire does.

Pretty much what I was expecting given that they did the exact same thing last week with Eccleston.

That was my thought as well. Nothing to back it up whatsoever but it would be cool.

Actually, there is something. Mr Lenderman’s PA is asian too.

Coincidence?! I think NOT!

I’m thinking Mr. Lenderman must be Jewish. And his special power is the ability to rapidly boil rings of dough and then freeze them.

I saw the blurb about that; they had originally written him as gay but then wanted to make him a Claire love interest. But that there will be other gay character(s) whose sexuality just hasn’t come up yet.

So, Hiro and Ando? I fell asleep halfway through but they seemed to exchange some meaningful glances.

I was going to ask about this… did I miss something in the show that showed Zach is straight? Is this coming from an interview somewhere?

An NBC publicist announced last December that Zack isn’t gay.

I’d bet his power is the ability to make things fly apart.

After Sylar woke up, we could see that there was something white attached to the back of his head. Did anyone make out what that thing was? All I saw was a whitish blur.

SIGH… all my and Hubby’s cool speculations have already been mentioned.

I really hope Hiro’s dad is not special – There are too damn many “supers” showing up. More accurately, too many extra-powerful supers, and not enough quiet supers like, say, Charlie.

Was I the only one who wondered how on earth Matt could believe that his wife’s baby is his so readily when he knows she’s been cheating on him?

And if we’re going in for wild speculation – wouldn’t it be cool if the Haitian were Linderman? It would explain why the Haitian feels so free to disobey Mr. B’s order where Claire’s concerned. Or maybe the Haitian just works for Linderman.

As far as who Claire’s dad is, we know he’s someone we’ve already met or at least heard of (thanks to the voice-over). We know he wears what looks like a business shirt and slacks, and he has on a nice watch and a ring (class ring? wedding ring? I couldn’t tell). So far, the best candidates fitting that description are Nathan, Linderman (whom we haven’t seen but we know is in a powerful position and we can assume he would wear something similar), and Mr. B. Other candidates, though less likely, are Hiro’s Dad and someone associated with Nathan’s campaign. Do we start a betting pool?

I don’t remember this. Can you give details?

It was almost like a plug or bolt of some type. Vaguely medical implant-ish looking.
Definitely very creepy.

I’m still interested in the show, but any more episodes like this one and I’ll lose interest pretty quickly. It didn’t seem like much of anything moved forward during the episode. A lot of it just felt wrong. In addition to why Invisible Guy must be some kind of guru, and why that should be so apparent to Peter, it wasn’t clear why Peter wouldn’t mention that he knows some other special folks as well.

Nathan’s persistent ambivalence is growing tiresome.

Claire is struggling with hiding her knowledge from her father, and AED is picking up clues as to what she’s thinking. Been there last year.

Hiro and Ando’s stuff was excruciatingly boring. Lots of running around in the garage and hiding under cars only to be eventually caught … in the garage, in a very cheesy way.

The travails of the single father have been done to death. Is this Heroes or the Courtship of Eddie’s Father? DL busts in to prison so that they can reveal to us … that Niki thinks she needs to remain in prison and DL and Micah need her! Wow. I don’t think we’d gotten that message yet.

Come on. Let’s get going already.

It looked to me like something designed to allow stuff to get plugged into his brain. I thought that perhaps there had been some sort of power-regulating implant installed a la Spike, perhaps something along the lines of a “pacemaker” to keep him from ramping up the part of his brain where his powers lie.

Dumb question; when did Hiro lose his powers?

I think we can rule out Hiro’s dad, Claire isn’t half asian.

As for Mr. Bennett’s glasses, I think it was from last week. I may be misremembering but I could have sworn Mr. B changed glasses and in the second pair we were shown his side of the glasses and he could see Sylar in his little room in them. It may have just been a scene cut that I didn’t grok at the time but I could have sworn he was seeing Sylar in his glasses.
By the way, it looked to me that when they were experimenting on Sylar he had something plugged into his head.
