Quite likely; maybe he came thought donor egg/IVF or something. But they seem to be entrenching the idea-at least Sylar won’t quit yapping about it. I don’t remember if Angela told anyone else herself.
Angela said Peter was 26 when he was in the hospital with his mystery fever after Fallout. I think Kaito said something about waiting 30 years for Hiro to ‘manifest’ or something; and Parkman said his dad left him when he was 13, and he hadn’t seen him for 25 years, so he’s at least 38.
/been watching S1 on bluray. Don’t recommend that, actually- a lot of 5 o’clock shadow in this show…
Does it make it easier when they go for the overly-moody dark lighting scenes, though? Last night when black-guy-whose-name-I-can’t-recall was loading Adam into the van, all I could see of him was eyes and teeth. Heck, Hiro and Ando were almost shadowed out.
And I’ve got a huge (not HD) plasma screen.
They’ve done that before, trying to make a scene look dark and menacing and moody. Mostly, though, all they’ve managed is to obscure what is actually happening in the scene.
In season 1 they have mostly kept the lights on :D.
Further to the 'is Sylar the missing Petrelli kid?" discussion, I just watched the Canadian ep, and the previouslies had something I think wasn’t show before- a scene with Sylar and Angela in her office where she says “I’ve dreamt the future, Gabriel,I’ve seen how important you are, but only if you can master your urges”. That sounds like she’s trying to manipulate him to the good side. I think that was a cut scene-they also had a wee one with Claire telling her cheer leading buddy she needed an excuse to get out of the house, they didn’t show that before.
4.) Since Nathan never got the chance to make his big reveal, she (and the world at large) had no idea what his press conference would be about. For all she knows, he was planning on revealing his powers at a press conference years ago but was stopped because someone blackmailed him. So when he says he was shot, at that point Tracey would realize what the ill-fated press conference was going to be about.
#4 sounds like the best explanation. As far as Sylar suddenly not being crazy, I think trying to take claire’s power also messed with his mind, as as soon as he actually touched her brain, was when this big change happened. Also ties into the line: “I could feel the pain I caused you”… he got compassion from claire’s brain, or something.
Internally plausible, hmm, could work. I likes internally plausible.
And in the 1st ep this year Mohinder stuck Molly on a plane to ‘somewhere safe’. Maybe she’s with Mo’s mom, and spends her days playing soccer in Chennai with the ‘enter your dreams’ kid and wondering why Matt’s walking so slowly through the hinterlands of Zimbabwe.
Maybe Kaito was just exaggerating to try to make his son feel old. In Company Man, the credits identify Young Hiro as being eight years old. The flashback took place fifteen years before the current timeline, making Hiro 23 or 24 during the first season. The casting call also referred to the character as being 24.
No idea how old Sylar is supposed to be, other that he’s presumably somewhere within Zachary Quinto’s age range.
Yeah, age tends to be fluid- Claire was reading that news story about the fire she and Meredith ‘died’ in, it said her 18 month old daughter died (14 years ago?); then when Kaito gave Claire to HRG, the baby was a lot younger. So should Claire be 15 pushing 16, a HS junior. what? I don’t know what the year is in show-time;
-Season 1- October/November 2006
-Season 2- Four months later, early spring 2007. Not sure what time span that season encompassed, but maybe a month?
-Season 3- mid 2007? If they showed some indication that events were taking place over a longer time frame the why-the-hell-is s/he acting-like-that? stuff would make more sense. Mohinder could spend 10-12 months working on his freak formula working up those insecurities about getting his ass kicked by Sylar every solstice and equinox; Sylar could have another leisurely murder spree across America regaining abilities before getting to Claire’s house. etc. Then they could have Micah back on the show and not have to explain how he grew a foot in 5 months.
I just assumed that Hiro had a plan, you know…somehow go back in time and un-kill his buddy. He seems to do things without really thinking them through. I mean if I knew someone was going to kill me in the future, I would be super nice to them, he has been kind of a jerk ever since learning that Ando was going to kill him!
Does anyone else was to take a fire hose to Meredith?
“But I am her mother…” “Can you do this insert flame hand here?” Bitch
I thought he lost all his powers at one point and now only has the ones he’s reacquired since then - TK from injecting himself with the “Cure” at the end of last season, Claire’s healing, the woman he fed off of that knows the history of any object she touched, and the fire-hands guy.
Speaking of the woman he fed off of, I wonder if that’s going to be relevant at any point? I’m thinking he’ll touch the formula and be able to sort out that whole affair.
This seems to come up every week. TK is not Sylar’s inherent power. He acquired it when he brained someone Daddy Suresh had inadvertently led him to. Injecting himself with the “Cure” would be very unlikely to give him one power (even if it was his first) and not the others. Why the writers don’t have him using other powers is, IMO, weak writing unless it comes up that he is hiding the scope of his powers to confuse The Company[TM].
How about some fun with Sylar - these are the powers he should have that I know:
Ability to “learn” others powers
TK
Frost ability (like Tracy)
Radioactive ability
Liquify metal
Super-hearing
(whatever power the girl had that Mama Petrelli fed him)
Banshee (from ‘Jerry’)
Something from last night
I’m sure I missed something, and I am trying it from memory rather than leaning on the wiki crutch.
Maddening, isn’t it, that all they had to do was devote a few seconds from the end of last season to show him do a quick “system check” - liquify something, overhear a distant conversation, flash white future-painting eyeballs, make a little nuclear explosion, etc.
(#7 is what I weas referring to above - the ability to learn the history of every object he touches).
So now he should also have the psychic-touch thing, turning things into gold, Claire’s healing, and the screaming thing.
We know he still had Isaac’s prognostipainting powers the last time someone visited the future. Since he can’t kill Isaac again to get 'em, he’s probably still got 'em. … unless he finds and eats the brain of Parkman’s Magical Negro Friend.
So Sylar probably does have those other powers – he’s just not using them. Of course, even in Season 1 he relied on this telekinesis for almost everything, and only occasionally remembered he had other powers. Nothing new, really.
Sylar has used the psychometry powers he took from the woman Mama Petrelli tossed to him – that is why in this episode he told Claire that when he grabbed her wrist he felt all those things about her. That was the woman’s power working.
