Angela sees the future and tries to manipulate it, but don’t underestimate the power of Peter and Hiro to totally fuck things up.
She also saw Sylar possibly about to kill her, but she’s sewn up that thread pretty nicely. Sylar is still in play, and he’s about the only one who could take down Papa Petrelli.
Peter and Hiro just can’t be trusted to do what really needs to be done.
I don’t understand her motivations, so I don’t have an answer to 2. But given your point in 1, I have a hard time figuring out where she was going with the whole plan. In other words, if she saw an accurate future in her dreams that involved Adam then she saw him bringing Arthur back from the nearly-dead (he wasn’t alive long enough and didn’t do enough for her to have seen much else – that we were shown, anyway). So why send Hiro to dig him up if not for that purpose?
Or, perhaps as levdrakon suggests, she saw a different future, but underestimated the bumbling potential of our “heroes”. There’s also the possibility that she overestimated the ability of the show’s writers. Not the first thing we’ve seen put in play that made no practical sense.
She may have underestimated their bungling, but she may have also taken it into account. Peter and Hiro are both time-travelers, so they’re probably outside of her ability to see what’s going to happen, and they’re both nerdy goody-two-shoes. Who she needs is someone powerful, under her influence, can’t time travel, etc. Hello, bushy eyebrows.
I actually though he was a spider-thing, not a fly-thing (hence wrapping up his victims in some kind of webbing). I though that was actually kind of cool, like Spiderman gone really, really wrong. Also, I don’t think he’s done changing yet. In the future scene with him, he was all cloaked so you couldn’t see anything, but it implied that he was somehow … oogy-looking.
When Mama Patrelli first told Sylar she was his mom, I was convinced she was lying to manipulate him since she knows he has mommy issues. I still kind of think that may be the case, but I’m starting to think I may have been wrong. Oh well.
Haitian and Eden captured Sylar, but it was unclear to me if Eden’s power was working, or if Haitian just deactivated Sylar. They made it look like Eden was doing her persuasion thing, while Haitian was standing right there.
Or there’s the possiblity that Maury Parkman manipulated Angela’s mind to give her a false vision of the future, to trick her into bringing Adam back so Arthur could gobble up his power.
In other news, how did Knox know when and where to find Adam? He was waiting for him right outside the back door of the bar! Possible explanations: someone at Pinehurst has a power that could locate someone by some means, Molly-like perhaps. Or maybe this is another part of the grand Hiro plot. Maybe future Hiro has been going back in time over and over to counter Arthur’s plan and bring all the players together to take him down. So maybe Hiro isn’t as dumb after all…?
Niki’s kid (Micah?) had totally different powers than either of his parents, and as far as we know his powers are natural, not induced.
As for Mohinder, he’s a spider. Why do you think they have him webbing everyone up? Flies and cockroaches don’t spin webs. Though I suppose he could be turning into a giant silk worm…
She’s stuck in a plague-ridden post-apocalyptic timeline that doesn’t exist any more. If Peter hadn’t gotten over her, he’d be spending all his time moping around being depressed and whiny…
wait a minute…
So, the Haitian. Can we come up with a list of people his suppression power has worked on?
Matt
Peter
Hiro
Daphne
aaand (maybe) not worked on?
Nathan
Most of the people that Noah & the Haitian caught reported having been tasered by Noah rather than saying “and suddenly my powers just stopped working for no reason…”
