I thought they were scars–perhaps to insert a tracking device, or something?
I forget the order of the scenes. Did you actually see the brunch? The reporter asked about Nathan’s disappearance from the Vegas hotel and a blonde who was involved. Peter said that Nathan was checking out a clinic for Peter because of Peter’s recent “mental problems” (that Nathan invented out of whole cloth).
For as many comic books as Hiro reads, he seems strangely unfamiliar with the concept of “secret identity.” The first rule of Superhero is that you don’t tell every person that you meet that you’re a superhero. Telling people that he’s super seems to be Hiro’s open.
I’ll have to watch the scene again with the marks on Radioactive Man and [del]Sean[/del] [del]Weiss[/del] Matt! again because that was a very quick cut. I’m kinda sorta really hoping that it’s not related to their being super because one super with a disappearing reappearing mark is enough.
I wasn’t quite clear what was happening with Hiro and Ghost Dad and the accident victim. I wasn’t sure if they were supposed to have constiported or if Ghost Dad phased them through the explosion or Hiro just moved them out of the way or what.
Even though it didn’t really advance the plot, I was kinda OK with the scene with Claire and her brother and Possibly Gayboy. Nice to see kids on a show like this not acting like miniature adults, Micah.
Watched this for the first time tonight, and liked it a lot, but taking a lot of cold medicine so maybe that’s a factor. Both the guys had the little stripey tats and so did the bad mirror girl. Saw them on her first. Then again maybe it’s the meds. :dubious:
I thought he moved them. He sighed and said he wished he had super stength, too, implying that he knew he had to carry them. I assumed they just didn’t show the trudging-back-and-forth in the interests of brevity.
Hm. More heroes next episode. And yeah, Hiro looked very tired when time restarted.
Kind of a slow episode. I’m assuming Radioactive Man’s detonation in New York City is what the Heroes are going to try to prevent?
My first thought about the ditto marks on the cop and Radioactive Man was some kind of branding, perhaps when picked up by Ambiguously Evil Dad. Not sure what the point of that would be, since one would hope that they keep good records about whom they’ve “gone deep” with. Maybe going deep not only wipes some stuff out but is also a way to plant other stuff?
Man, there were a lot of cops simultaneously dressing in the locker room. I guess it makes sense, but it also helped play up the “OMG a woman in the locker room” bit.
I couldn’t see The Flying Congressman’s angle in lying to Peter about the painting. Is he just planning on having a chit to use with Peter, or is he trying to take it out of his hands altogether?
I liked Nathan’s reasoning wrt his flying abilities: sure, he can fly, but what’s he gonna do when he GETS there?
Woah… the writting weakness is starting to show more this week. I think because they are putting on the breaks to pad out the season. When will US stations start doing shorter seasons. I’m betting 8 to 12 episode series would move better.
OK First What I liked:
Hiro: Still well used even if he is the most powerful character and only limited when the writers decide they need to. Yet he is so darned likeable! His line “Why couldn’t I have Super Strength too?” is great! Even his side kick is great. I could just watch the adventures of these two guys.
Really! Just drop the rest of the cast and rename it Hiro! I’ll be there every week!!
The Flying congressman is absolutely right! All he can do is fly… what good is that as a hero? And his being a scuzzbag waivers between interestuing and annoying. He was tightroping it this week.
I liked the kid knowing the difference between the two personalities. He is so Smart (Until he opens his mouth see point 6 below)
Some great lines (“Putting it on You Tube and making a Million Dollars”)
Ok now the things that are beginning to bug me:
-
The Brunch. If that reporter doesn’t check up on the phoney story I’ll be pissed. I mean both actors are telegraphing so horribly only a blind braindead baboon would miss it. Also as a reporter it’s his job to sniff out the Bullshit, That story they gave is so easy to check with one question “What is the name of this Doctor?”
-
Radioactive man’s Nurse victim. Ummm Bad acting there, wouldn’t someone having 2nd to 3rd defgee burns put on their arm react a little more than that? She looked more annoyed than in pain.
-
The really piss poor acting of the FBI Agent. She’s awful… every… line…she…delivers…is…just…plain…plain!
-
The wife isGasp in a wheel chair!!! Wow hard to see that coming… Sigh What else could it be when the first shot you see of her has here looking pretty and perfect, oh yes and seated.
-
PLEASE DEAR GOD Ditch the Split personality Chick. It isn’t a superpower no matter what she thinks she sees in the Mirror! She’s pretty danged annoying too something strikes me wrong everytime she’s on camera.
-
Some awful awful Dialogue! “Heros don’t run you’re a Bad Guy!”
“I’m gonna do your wife!” (I mean where the hell does that come from!!! Does this guy have a random thought generator in his head… I mean really) -
The opening Dream sequence… can we have a less hackneyed opening (I’m looking at you too Battlestar!!)
-
THE SLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW Pace of the show is starting to enter Soap iopera country!
OK I’ll give it another week or two, but I need more Hero stuff less filler!
next time I’ll use my super Typo powers for good instead of evil.
I can’t give you the exact quote, but he didn’t say he was going to do his wife. He indicated that he was doing Matt’s wife. In other words, the affair that Matt’s wife indicated earlier in the episode was with his partner.
Did I say that right?
Yes. I was watching for that because I was wondering how they were going to have the partner indicate that he was having sex with Telepacop’s wife. I was anticipating that it would kind of come out of left field, but they actually didn’t do too bad. They gave the partner motivation to be jealous of our guy, and mentally remind himself that he was banging our guy’s wife in order to defend against some of his jealous feelings.
The exact thought quote was “Loser, I’m nailin’ your wife and she is SO fine.”
But you essentially got it right - beat me to it.
A question from the previews for next week Who’s the cute strawberry blonde that can talk to Hiro in Japanese? Does she have a power or is she just fluent in Japanese? (I don’t know the policy on previews for next week’s episode, so it’s hidden.)
I thought it was “I nailed your wife and she was fine.”
Try this on. If the symbol IS a DNA strand, could everyone’s different tattoos be different segments of the strand signifying where the mutated gene giving them their super power is located?
And I suspect that if you’re nailing someone’s wife, you’d have a hard time not thinking about it when you’re around him. I had no problem with that at all.
I liked the episode.
My mistake… I must have missed that part of the show where they mentioned she had an affair.
So that one is not a problem… that one.
White people can’t be bilingual? I STG this show makes you stupid.
The “Jessica” personality is super-strong. Not only was she able to tear apart several people with her bare hands, but we also saw her fling her husband across the room and nearly put him through the wall.
didn’t mention, but implied. when matt was about to tell his wife about his powers, he said something about being completely honest with each other. Then she thought something like “oh god, he knows… but I was so careful.” He heard the thought and dropped the subject.
I thought it was a pretty good episode, all things considered. The Claire story is starting to wear thin for me. It feels almost like drama for the sake of drama. Like they need to give her something to do so we can be reminded she exists while the other Heroes take their sweet time hooking up to save her.
the dream sequence was a bit cheesy, but I was ok with it, because it seemed to imply that the dying dad had some sort of dreamwalking power, at least for a few moments in the end.
Radioactive guy was a neat red-herring on the way to Sylar. I just hope there aren’t too many more of those.
Is anyone else besides my wife and I bothered by the illegible subtitles for Hiro and Ando? Why do they always pick the brightest part of the image to put the WHITE subtitles on? Heck, I’m a photoshop novice, but even I know how to outline white text with black shadow so it shows up on any background.
Agreed with everyone else: great lines from Nathan about his lack of power other than flying, and also from Hiro about his lack of strength. (good implication that they’ll all have to work together to save the world. I’m a bit annoyed in comics when everyone seems to have flying and superstrength on top of their distinct power.) Also a bit annoyed, though not surpised, about Micah’s powers being revealed. But at least his power isn’t “Super Smarts.” We don’t need a Wesley Crusher on this show.
On the marks on the cop and radioative guy, I just figured Evil Dad had a tag-and-release program, and I’m wondering if there’s going to be backstory indicating that Jessica had a blackout when she was supposedly in control.
Did anybody watch Studio 60 last night and wonder, why is it that we can have a teenaged boy yell “Yes, we’re aliens, we’re going to anal probe you!”, but it’s a huge deal to make sure the actors on a comedy show say “Geez” rather than “Jesus?” Lame.
