The wife never said/thought specifically that she’d had an affair. Telepacop said something about how they needed to talk and the wife thought something like “how did he find out.”
Matt mentioned ‘discovering’ something (‘something’ being his powers), which is why she’d thought she was made.
I found the cheerleader’s brother’s reaction unrealistic. I’d think any kid who discovered his big sister was indestructible would not freak out but instead pester her to show off her new trick. (“What if you stick your hand in the blender? Do that! Now put your face on the stove! Ah come on! Please! You’re no fun.”)
Maybe his reaction was unnatural because he has powers of his own. Do we know for *sure *that he’s Maybe-EvilDad’s biological son? Maybe he’s scared and confused by his own abilities and he’s sort of rejecting them.
Late to the party this morning, but cleaning up a couple of danglies from earlier:
Not that we saw. And I have to wonder why he’s on shift the next morning if any of the relevant emergency responders (i.e., ambulance or other cops) were called. You’d think his superiors would’ve sent him for a physical and maybe mental check-up before returning him to duty.
I’m not sure he will. For all that he told Niki he’s “happily” married, he (a) cheated on her – even though understandably, IMO, (b) didn’t kiss her when he told her Peter’s lie was true, and (c) doesn’t seem all that affectionate toward her. It would be a nice touch if he did, though, but I’m not going to bet on it.
Do we have any evidence that the marks on Radiation Roy and TelepaCop are disappearing / reappearing? I tend to favor the theory above, that the hash marks are a result of something EvilDad did. I wonder if we’ll see the marks on Isaac next week?
Shift change?
Yeah, that bugged the snot out of me, too.
Still and all, the show’s good enough for me to keep watching.
I’m confused about Nathan’s lying about the painting too. But my wife has a guess that Nathan wants to see the painting himself first to see wha tthe big deal is before deciding whether to give it to Peter or not.
He suffers from latent herophobia?
Otto, thanks for the fill-in. The only thing I’m still missing is the radioactive guy – how did they find him?
They found his wife’s cancer meds and found out which hospital she was in.
I suppose it would have made too much sense for Peter to say to the girl who sold the painting “So, what was it a painting of?” If it turns out to be another shot of Peter flying, or Hiro and Ando driving through a desert, he’ll feel pretty stupid. Which is par for the course, I guess…
I LOVED the idea that Claire’s brother stapled her.
Perish forfend that we bring physical laws and facts into a discussion of superheroes, but are there actually pills that help fight radiation poisoning?
I thought the word “Suitcase” was in there. I didn’t catch the entire dialouge either.
On the RNA/DNA showing each person’s unique abillity:
I don’t think the tatts get that specific. I mean I think they will all become double helixes, and thats it. At most G A T C right?
I forgot to mention, and will now add since someone else reference the line:
Didn’t NBC sue YouTube? Could this be some sort of jab, or yet another product placement… so NBC could get paid?
While we are at it, is the Versa the only thing placed? ((Ok, well, we know its the only thing placed THAT deliberately)) I mean, didn’t Hiro and Ando stay on the Hotel used for the show “Las Vegas” ? ((Wikipedia told me so, it has to be true right?))
Well, let’s see… he found a videotape with important information on it and actually watched it. He figured out that his sister had super powers and came up with a specific, repeatable, undeniable test for it. Having proven this, he took off like a scalded cat and this reaction was validated after the fact by his sister’s reaction.
His super power: He’s SMART.
The only way I can reconcile this is that Nathan needs to have control over Peter… he feels that if Peter gets to the painting first, he will go off half cocked and somehow spoil his election bid.
Really don’t like how linderman is ‘coast to coast’… he’ll probably end up being Sylar.
Sort of, anyway. I live in between two nuclear power plants, so when I was in school, we had to get our parents to sign papers allowing the schools to give us Potassium Iodide in case of an accident/sabotage at one (or both!) of the plants. It’s meant to prevent the absorbsion of radioactive iodine, which could cause problems - specifically, thyroid problems.
I presume that’s what they were given - it’s a prevetative for a very specific form of radiation poisoning (and, as far as I know, the only pill that’s effective in dealing with any form), but it can be relatively accurately, and very quickly, described as helping to prevent radiation poisoning.
Plus, if the painting really does allow the viewer of it to save the world, that would really boost Nathan’s chances of winning the election.
No candidate who covered up his **power of flight ** is going to win an election. He might as well pull off his human mask to reveal his green alien tentacles. Saving the world or no, I can’t see them voting for some scary, worldview-redefining freak only days after finding out about his true nature. At best, folks need time and reassurance to deal with something like that.
The newspaper Hiro saw before the explosion had Nathan as winner of the election, so preventing it can’t be a campaign trick.
In earlier threads, people were assuming that Niki’s alterego caused the video to not record her killing Linderman’s muscleboys. I now think that Micah did it.
He may have been able to tap into the video and see what the camera saw. That may be how he knows about Jessica. He then erased the tape. He could probably do it from his bedroom, without needing to go into the garage at all.
Yes, but then we learn that Peter can *control *his powers.
The show should be available at nbc.com. Otherwise, you can catch a rerun when it airs several times on SciFi.
