Heroes 4-23-07 ".07%" (Spoilers Probable)

Commercial time!
I suspected Linderman had a power, but I thought it might be the power to make a delicious pot pie.
Oooh … regarding Peter

I think he’s only temporarily dead, like Claire was when the tree branch poked her in the brain. Claire will probably be the one to figure it out, too.

By the way, way to go, Mo!

I’ve not got crappy reception, but the sounds and images are slightly off on mine - just enough that I hear what’s going on just before I see it and just enough to drive me batty.
Your mistake here is assuming Ozymadias is evil.

Morally flexible? Definitely. Wrong? Possibly.

Evil? Eminently debatable. He committed a series of evil acts in order to prevent a greater evil. He destroyed a city to save the world.

Linderman’s plan is the same. Is it the wrong way to go about it? Possibly - even probably, based on the preview for next week. But, evil? Unless he’s lying about his motives - no reason to believe that, both from the show and from the comics - no.
Last, eh? I think you’re right.
Also, dang it, I know they can’t kill Sylar yet, but he was defenceless, knocked out! Even Mohinder could have killed him.
But nooooo, can’t do something sensible like that.

Well, in Mo’s defense that didn’t go so well last time he tried.

For Christ’s sake, it’s spelled
Ozymandias. Think back to when you were forced to read Shelley in school. (Yes, people wrote stuff before the 1980’s.)

When I heard Linderman talking about the explosion, I said to my girlfriend, “That’s either an homage to or a direct steal from Watchmen, depending on how you look at it.” I just hope they have the guts to allow the enormous amount of moral ambiguity involved.
He wasn’t trying to kill him I thought; just keep him sedated.

I realize that in jaded New York City they’ve seen it all, but I find it hard to believe that Mohimbo was able to make it all the way across town toting Peter’s corpse.

Well now we know what .07% means.

But he didn’t really. His lies are a house of cards waiting to tumble down and return the world to its previous state possibly worse than it was before. And the world didn’t need saving; it was more than capable of working things out on its own if he hadn’t been working to push things to the brink. He killed millions for his own arrogance, you hardly can get more evil than that.

No, he tried to kill him he just waited too long.
Re: the cab ride with the corpse, he was only mostly dead, Mo probably told the driver he was dead drunk.

Mohinder drives his father’s cab so no awkward explanations needed.

He looked pretty damn dead to me. Last time we saw someone looking that dead she was laid open on an autopsy table.

The mark of a good episode, it was actually a couple of minutes over but it seemed short.

Good lookin’ out.

Well, at least I figured out that “save the world” means more than stopping New York from getting nuked. That was annoying me a little since much as I love NYC–my sister lives there–its destruction is hardly the end of the world. Now we know it’s the first step to a greater as yet unspecfied catastrophe.

So…in Peter v. Sylar, after Peter developed a bad case of glass-in-the-brain-itis, what was it that stopped Sylar?

Mohinder ran him over with an IKEA cabinet, looked like.

I didn’t get the impression that the goal was to “unite people” any more than was necessary to get Nathan elected. NYC gets sacrificed to put Nathan into Congress and the the White House to advance some other, as yet unrevealed, goal of Linderman’s. It’s less a crib from Watchmen than it is a crib from 9/11 and Rudy Giuliani. Without 9/11 Giuliani wouldn’t be “America’s Mayor” and wouldn’t be any sort of contender for a presidential nomination, and he’s riding that wave six years later. Nathan would be “America’s Congressman” for less than a year from the NYC destruction.

Oh, and even though my WAG was completely wrong, at least my math was right. 42 million people in NYC? I don’t think so, Mister Linderman. More like 8.

Add me to the list of squee-ers that Heroes is back! I actually put down my knitting to watch it.

Does Peter assume Mohinder is dead? It bothers me that Peter has apparently forgotten about Mohinder.

Peter didn’t ask how he got home, Mrs. P didn’t tell him.

The least Peter could do is call and let Mohinder know he’s okay, maybe find out if Sylar’s still hanging around.

I’m kinda dissapointed at how easily Sylar took Peter out. Peter has by far the stronger powers and its not like that glass move wasn’t totally telegraphed. I guess hes just not much of a fighter.
