We’ve met Papa Petrelli. In the comics. He and Linderman served together in Viet Nam. He bore a striking resemblance to Nathan. He and Linderman did work together in the early days of the whole super-people finding thing.
Yes, it was also mentioned that Linderman was an old colleague of Papa P. That’s why Nathan went to visit the first few times.
Can anyone else get behind my dream that, like 24, the season ends with a conclusion and not a ‘to be continued…’
Figure out what happens in New York, and then have a respite. Gives them a chance to start the next year a little fresh, maybe fast forward a bit in time.
Just a little dream.
That’s what the creators have said they plan to do. They’ve also intimated that they intend to use a whole new cast of characters (although there will, no doubt, be overlap - probably Mohinder and someone in the Linderman organization, as obvious plot carryovers and Hiro as the most popular character).
Seconded. Actually, please take the whole hijack and git.
I think Grandma has a power. I can’t imagine what it is. So it seems there is a whole Mutant Generation One, Two, and Three now. Interesting.
Yeah, Mohinder should have cacked Sylar when he was out, but what the heck. It’s more fun this way, with Sylar running around, poking around in brains, and making timelines.
So, did Sylar have a chance to absorb Peter’s powers, specifically invisibility. Does he have to eat the brains to gain new powers?
That timeline was too cool. Who do you suppose created it?
Future Hiro, it would appear. He’s the guy who seems to be living there.
There’s something I’m wondering about after last night’s episode:
When Sylar took Isaac’s power of prognostipainting, did anyone else notice how he was recreating a pre-existing picture, with him superimposed in Nathan’s place? Does this mean the future has changed, or just that Sylar’s method of absorbing powers is flawed (maybe he got “prognostipainting lite”)?
The comics do not exist. Inly the TV show exists.
Thanks for the unboxed spoiler material. I for one really appreciate it.
That was supposed to be Sylar in the painting? I thought it was just showing that Sylar was a really bad painter.
Why not? Apparently everyone else does. Mohinder’s dad must have been completely inept, because all you really have to do to find people with superpowers is swing a dead cat.
I figured out last night what Grandma’s power is. She has the power to be completely derivative.
I am intrigued by what Isaac thought he was doing to be a hero. What did he figure out in terms of killing Sylar? Does he pass along his heroin addiction? I kind of thought that with the superhearing thing they were trying to build in a weakness to be taken advantage of, but that seems to have gone by the wayside.
Anyway, poor Isaac died for nothing. Mohinder figured out that to kill Sylar you need a bulletin board. Imagine an army of heros, armed with bulletin boards.
Are we to assume powers are hereditary? DL and Nikki/Jessica have powers, so does Micah. Claire’s real mom and Nathan have powers, so does Peter, and apparently, so does Mama Petrelli. Does this mean Parkman’s baby will have powers?
And could Isaac be anymore of a Christ figure? Recognizing he has to die is one thing, but Sylar pinning him to the floor in a “T” shape with paintbrushes was a bit anvilicous, to steal from TWoP.
Future Hiro does not look at all pleased with present Hiro. (I read an article in Wired magazine…Masa Oki worked as a CG artist at ILM before he became an actor. He still does some work for them, because no one can figure out his coding! He also likes to slip in literary references, like the Ray Bradbury “What if I step on a butterfly?”)
My theory is that he has to go waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in time and kill the Tyro that was about to eat the tiny mammal that would one day evolve into Sylar.
Or maybe he eats Nathan and morphs into him.
Given that the [del]mutants[/del] oops, I mean heroes are identifiable by a genetic marker, I’d say, um, yes?
I missed the last minute or so …my DVR didn’t record it…so what happened at the very end? Last thing I saw were Hiro and Andi standing in Isaac’s place in the future looking at the timeline. Some metalic scraping sound was heard, and Hiro started to draw his sword…then…what?
Same, I thought it was just Sylar’s lack of artistic talent rendering almost the same scene. The answer for that one I suspect we’ll get next week…
“Our” Hiro came face to face with future Hiro, both with their swords drawn.
Regarding that: In every movie or book that I’ve experienced that features time travel, I thought that meeting yourself was bad. Like, crossing the streams bad. I wonder if that will be explored in this show?
Regarding next weeks episode: Is it just me, or does having a “what if” episode seems pointless…almost like filler?
Not necessarily. One can carry a gene for something, but unless one has a baby with someone with the same gene, that characteristic can’t be passed on, and in some instances, there’s only a 25% chance of passing it on.
Did Nikki/Jessica’s father have a power?
Future Hiro said “You!” in a voice of contempt, and cute Present Hiro squeaked “Me?”
It’s just you. In a show with precognition and time travel they’d almost be remiss not to show what would happen if our heroes fail. And we today learned that the bombing of NY was only step 1 in Linderman’s grand plan. I’d like to see what else we wants to do with a pet president.
No, it’s not filler, it’s Hiro’s ‘now’, with Peter with the scar. (Peter would have the scar if he hadn’t saved the cheerleader, maybe.)
