Heroes 9/24/07 - 2nd season premiere "Four Months Later..."

Tahssa, I’m hoping we see papa Nakamura again. He must have an ability and we don’t know what it is yet, but maybe getting splatted on the pavement doesn’t mean what we think it does.

But isn’t the legendary Kensei credited with much death? Maybe the deaths will happen, but I can’t believe our Hiro will be directly responsible for it. It’s just not in him, no matter how jaded he gets. Our Hiro is not a great swordsman who carves swathes through enemy hordes. I’ll resent this show if they make him that.

I too really hope we see more of him. I’ll be fine if he died from the fall but I still want to know his power and hopefully, if he really is dead, they’ll show us what it is in a flashback.

I doubt they’ll make Hiro into a killer of that magnitude. It just goes against everything that Hiro stands for and I think it would really piss off the fans because the people I know who watch and I love Hiro because of his personality and his “Heroes Code of Ethics”.

“Our” Hiro may not be but FutureHiro certainly is. Assuming that he’s still slated to become FutureHiro at some point “our” Hiro’s gonna have to start carving.

Future Hiro is a mistake which our Hiro helped prevent from happening.

They can bring back the future Hiro once in awhile for fun’s sake if they want, but I’m sticking with our present Hiro. He’s destined to experience some tough stuff, but he’s not going Dark Hiro.

I hope.

Our Hiro only became Future Hiro because Sylar butchered Ando. Ando is alive, so no Future Hiro. At least, not the way we saw him in “Five Years Later.”

It’s just something that’s lost in translation. I believe he was yelling “Kaichou”, which is a Japanese honorific for either “boss” or “president (of company)”. Either way, it would look strange if it were subtitled “BOSSSSSSSSSSS!!!”, so “sir” was the best approximation.

Shit - I missed it because the description made it sound like they were repeating the season FINALE here, so I didn’t record it. Will they be repeating it soon??

Anyone else but me notice there’s always Twelve and always a plague, at least when it comes to mutants?

I mean, honestly, the whole Twelve cross-over device and the Legacy Virus in X-Men?

I know last season, episodes were rerun on SciFi later in the week, so they’re probably doing that again.

If they do, that’s work-able, even tho sciffy isn’t in HD here.

The Boston station is repeating it this Saturday at eight, so try that.

I checked and it’s not playing on SciFi on Fridays like it was last season but as StarvingButStrong mentioned NBC is replaying the episode Saturday at 8pm in HDTV so there you go. You get to see it and see it HDTV. (lucky duck, I wish I had HDTV)

Bionic Woman repeats are currently slated to air in the slot formerly occupied by Heroes repeats. Maybe when Flash Gordon finally goes belly-up they’ll put Heroes in the open slot.

Kensai was going to kill the bandits from ambush with his bow while/after they killed his stand in. He didn’t kill them because Hiro saved the stand in, so the bandits went and burned the village. This doesn’t mean that Kensai and/or Hiro won’t still save the village or the swordsmith though.

My original theory was that ClaireBear’s new, flying boyfriend was Peter Petrelli, somehow regenerated after gettin’ hisself all blowed up, and who had decided to hang around Claire to protect her. Well. That lasted for about five minutes.

Oh well, it was a good theory.

Did we absolutely, for certain see Sulu’s dead body? All I can remember is seeing a body lying on the ground. You know the way comic books work- if you don’t see the body, they ain’t dead- and sometimes even seeing the body isn’t enough.

bleah, he’s her uncle!! no boyfriendiness with the uncle! ew! ew!

as for the episode, I was mildly disappointed. except when Claire was anywhere near onscreen, because she’s my hero. I would still watch this show if the rest of it was one long, loud fart, because to me, it’s basically The Claire Show.

I do like the Petrellis’ drama, though. and Hiro is normally cute/funny, but I don’t care about this feudal crap. Molly inspires equal parts fear and boredom. Sylar is mean but fascinating. The rest of them I could take or leave.

one thing is bothering me; I really don’t get how Nathan survived the explosion in last season’s finale. I also don’t understand why Peter couldn’t have just flown his emo self into space.

In last season’s finale, when Peter’s abilities were overloading, he as much as said, “I can’t control it, I can’t do anything.” So that answers that.

As for Nathan, it hasn’t been shown yet, but lots of ideas were proposed in the season one finale thread.

We don’t know that much about Nathan’s ability. He can fly at supersonic speeds without damage or physical duress and for all we know, in a moment of extreme duress, he could have flown away from Peter at .9 C.

I’m sure the writers will have a more interesting explanation, though.

I’m not expecting Nathan to be the killer. I could accept the notion (very easily) that the loss of his brother could lead him to give up on himself and sink into becoming a hopelessly depressed, alcohol fuelled mess. I could buy (at a stretch) himbeing very angry at realising the extent to which these old supers have been manipulating events and so sitting down and constructing an elaborate, somewhat sadistic campaign to murder them all in cold blood and then pursuing it with a will.

But I’m not accepting he’s doing both at the same time.

Incidentally, I hope Angela escapes the killer’s clutches for a while longer yet as she is one of the most interesting characters on the show. She’s so fascinatingly coldblooded. She sure has come a long way from being the kindly old stick who used to go round shoplifting…

I just watched NBC’s replay of the premiere and it really plays better a second time. I am now very excited for some of the threads they have set up for this season.

And I tried to watch the end with Hiro’s father and hoodie closely. I could only make out one body on the ground and it appeared to be the hoodie, not Hiro’s father.

Questions, questions.

I kinda like the Nissan Rogue, and the commercial was kinda neat. but not THREE TIMES IN A ROW.

Kenzai reminds me a bit of Chaucer in “A Knight’s Tale” which isn’t completely a bad thing.

I liked “Noah” showing his supervisor who is boss (in the real world he’d be charged with assault or something, but it was good in fantasy land)
