Heroes Assemble! All City of Heroes Discussion Here

Aitch, my Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster is 11.

My highest is Deus X at 16 and my lowest is Shrugging Atlas at 5. Everyone else is in a big clump at 7 for some reason.

I’m in!

The Mad Fool is a level 3 magic dark/regen scrapper on Virtue.

He’s got purple and red togs, a big goofy grin and a J on his chest. For, um Fool. He was originally supposed to be the mad Jester, but that name was taken…

Ready for action!

You’ll be able to change the J to the F when you get to the Tailor - won’t be for a while yet.

He can get to the tailor any time he wants. He just can’t get a second costume. If he wants, I’ll walk him there, keep him safe, buy the new letter.

Send a tell to La Pucelle

Oh, really? You can do a costume edit at anytime? Hmmm… Shadow Stranger suffers from my inexperience with costume design, with regards to the fact that I left him on the two-colors-copied-across-entire-character option… I wonder how much it would cost to fix…

Where’s the tailor?

E-Sabbath is right, of course, you just don’t want to take a single digit character into that neighborhood without an escort. I’ll escort as well if I’m on line - Eliza Bennett. I did my first costume dinking back when Eliza was level 6 or 7 - TC wanted to check out the shop. (I felt a need to get rid of the garters and tail after a rather creepy discussion with a rather creepy pick up teammate. “Are you really female? What do you look like IRL? What are you wearing?”)

And you’ll need some influence. Costume changes aren’t free. That might not be much of a problem either, depending on whom you find to escort you, they might have some extra around.

Shadow Stranger’s 11, so he might be able to survive wherever it is - but I still don’t know the location.

He has some extra influence lying around too… some CECILian gave him a pile a while back, out of the blue. I forget who it was though.

Get the map patch, then look for the tailor.

The map patch will make life so much easier for you.

I bet someone will post a link.

I did quit Cecil, and I joined The Circle with La Pucelle, my main character, so I’m available by tells, mainly. But it should get me in a good position for RP events and task forces and stuff, and the good gossip, and if I hear anything, I’ll pass it on.

Cost to change uniform parts varies by level. As a result, it’s pretty trivial for a high level to lend a low level the dosh for a costume change.

Uhm. Oh, hey, Gamera, give that GM that banned the dude a high five. You know the thing I’m talking bout, right? From the forums? Wasn’t you, was it? How’d he handle being the idol of dozens?

I still need to get that patch, myself. Is it the one at http://savagemod.com/CoH/ ?

I had serious crash problems after the update yesterday–back to the freeze at login problem. Gamera can also attest to how crash-happy my system was when we were grouping before that. However, I downloaded the latest Omega driver from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ and it’s made a huge difference. I haven’t had a crash since I installed it. I highly recommend it to any Radeon users who are having crash problems.

I hit level 10 and got Hover last night. Ever since Man first cast his eyes on the birds in the heavens, he has envied them their power of flight. Hover, however, was not what he had in mind. It’s still very cool, though. They need to add dirigibles (a la Batman: The Animated Series) to the city skies, so we can Hover-race them. Of course, we’d lose, but it would be fun, and we’d have floating combat platforms.

You quit CECIL? What’s the Circle? Who replaces Pucelle as one of our Fearless Leaders? Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

What forum thing? I don’t post on the CoH forums…

I do wish you could be a member of more than one supergroup.

I don’t know if there are dirigibles now, but there were in the beta. I had a fun time hovering around trying to catch one (I failed mostly, although I did get to one by cutting it off when it cornered).

I don’t know if we need another Omniscient Headmaster (we changed the titles) – we have three active now (Justice Blues, Max Carnage and Fulgur), which should be okay. The only reason we need one is to be able to update level titles, as we just did, or to change colors. And the only reason we need *more *than one is to guard against someone dropping out and leaving us with nobody who can change titles or colors.

I’m curious about the form thing as well – dish, E-Sabbath.

There is one dirigible in Atlas Park. But you can’t land on it. :frowning:

The lowest level tailor available is in the NW corner of Steel City. It is quite a distance for a low level character, but you can do it. Someone with TP Friend is the best way to get there if you are less than 14, but running is possible. I can escort if needed also, if someone needs the help. And I second, get the Map Patch. It can be downloaded from this site.

I believe the forum thing E-Sabbath is referring to is a troll that showed up and started complaining because he was warned by a GM in game for KSing. The name of his supergroup was XP Pirates and their mission was to get XP anyway they could. His tale of woe did not get a warm reception on the Forums there. Can’t link to it, it has been closed and deleted. Quite a train wreck.

Lok

I find the CoH boards to be interesting, particularly after spending so much time here. The amount of trolling and bad (or at least uncivil) behavior is kind of amazing. I find myself using the Ignore option a fair amount.

I meant Little Plastic Ninja, not Gamera. I have no idea why I get you guys backwards.

Forum: CoH Forums. Apparently, a KSer and head of a KS team called the XP Pirates got banned from the game, then came on the CoH Forums to complain about the mean old GM who banned him.

This spawned a twenty page long “YAY FOR GM! GM FOR PRESIDENT!” thread.

Quitting Cecil: Circle’s another group. I’ve been playing a lot with Royal Jester and Blood-Rayne and the lot of them, because we hang together, so I decided to have Pucelle join their team. It’s a week tryout, we’ll see what happens.

Oh, and the Map Patch is life-changing. It simply adds the locations of the shops (including the tailors) and the paths in Perez Park, but it has added notably to my enjoyment of the game.

Speaking of shops, a tip for the newer folk: You get more for selling enhancements in the right place. Sell at a shop that carries that kind of enhancement to get maximum return. That means each Dual-Origin enhancement can be sold at two stores in each of the higher-level zones. Something I was not aware of until fairly recently is that the Generic stores give you better return on Generic (Training) enhancements. Once you make it to Steel Canyon or Skyway City, try to get to a Generic store to sell those Training enhancements.

Or, of course, you can always hit up one of the higher-level folks for a loan and then pay it forward later. 20k influence is trivial for a character in the mid-to-late 20s, but is a lot to a character in the early teens.

If it doesn’t work out, you’re welcome to come back any time. If you’re playing with them a lot, though, it’ll probably be handy.

I find the SG chat channel to be great for setting up teams. I agree with Dangerosa that it would be nice to be able to be part of several associations. It’d also be true to comic reality – many heroes have memberships in multiple teams over time and even at the same time. Batman, for example, was still in the Justice League when he was leading the Outsiders, and is always part of the Dynamic Duo and the World’s Finest.

No, Batman actually had a major falling out with the League when he couldn’t persuade them to intervene in the affairs of another country (Geo-Force’s Markovia, if I recall correctly) and quit the League to form the Outsiders.

However, people can certainly belong to two or more groups in the DC universe. Black Canary is officially a JSA member, she’s treated as a JLA reservist, and she works with Oracle’s “Birds of Prey” team.

Currently, Wally West is both a member of the JLA and the Justice League Elite.

I recall that he left, but I know he later rejoined, and though that he still had a relationship with the Outsiders when he was an active JL member. Good point, though – and despite the flaws of my example, the point remains: being a member of more than one SG has comic precedent, as you point out.
