Many of us have low-level alts as well. I have a 6 blaster named Synthezoid who’d be quite happy to hook up with you. Or, as **Lok **mentions, we can SK you and bring you along. You get xp fast in big groups – even at level 20, I was getting most of a level’s worth of xp in 3 or 4 hours of 7-person groups, running missions nonstop.
Hey, does anyone have a character in the 9-12 level range? It seems that everyone seems to be well above, or below that.
Gravity Girl is my Grav Controller, who happens to be in that range. On the other hand, I rarely play her, so…
I now have an level 10 controller, illusion/radiation. But I’m on Pinnacle where I play in teams with my husband.
I have 2 characters currently in that range on Virtue, 1 slightly above, and one a bit below. Shadow Stranger, my L11 Force Field Defender, and Sup R-HRO, my L10 Assault Rifle Blaster, specifically.
Thanks for the advice, folks. I’m still soloing and working my way through some missions. I should hit level 6 soon. Currently I have a pretty effective Healing Aura, and several Blaster powers (up to Moonbeam, a nice sniping attack). Now that I have something to pull individual targets with, I’ll concentrate more on healing.
<total MMO n00b>I’ll look someone up once I figure out how.</n00b>
I have Air Goddess, an SS/Electric defender, level 11. If you use /friend, then the name of a character in your chat window, they will be listed on your Friends list. Then you can look and see if they are online and send them messages on the Friends chat channel.
/friend Air Goddess

So I went out and bought the thing.
It still says that the code I pulle dout of a sealed package that I took from the Best Buy self with my own hand has been used! Gah!
So now I’m waiting for NC to let me in. If they won’t, screw it. I’ll return it for store credit or another game. I thought MMORPGs weren’t worth my time, and now I see that I’m probably right.
Sigh.
So I need to fax over my reciept and the serial number. This will take a while. I’ll see you guys later this week, if at all.
Kindele is a level 12 fire tank. Brainiac4 has several low level characters - including Brainiac4 - a grav controller.
That totally bites, Menocchio. Any chance you can exchange it at Best Buy? Might be faster than dealing with NCSoft.
I hope that the shitty retail experience doesn’t sour you on the game itself.
Dern you Shadow Stranger!
Dimsdale now has serious bubble addiction. Last night, he was running around thinking he could take on orange cons only to have his spiney rear end handed to him.
So… much… debt.
Awww. Well, just look for me in my many aliases - always happy to dig out the Stranger and play “remote bubbler” - gets me XP while keeping me safe, best of both worlds.
Menocchio : Good luck with that process - The folks at NCSoft have been pretty decent in helping me resolve technical issues, I would expect they’ll be prompt in sorting out your problem.
I’m thinking of starting a Supergroup over on Justice with my single character there. It would probably have a Gods/Avatars/Godly Incarnations theme… (something with ‘Pantheon’ in the title, no doubt)…
Or maybe just a CECIL auxiliary branch, if that gets me more takers.
Any interested parties on Justice?
I have a couple of characters on Justice, but they don’t have a particular theme. I don’t think. Don’t play them much.

sniff snort wakes up
Ahh!
Oh yeah, you guys.
I don’t THINK the super-speed powers stack with jumping, but they sure look cool when used together. I adore leaping – boing, boing, boing, and that awesome jumpkick power. Not hugely damaging, takes forever, but it looks so goshdarned neato.
Kill stealing – it’s really not an issue. People do it, yeah, but you still get XP, you still get ticks down on your Defeat 30 Sky Raiders or whatever mission, and if it’s really irritating you then you can always move on. Though the hassle of dealing with grumpy former-EQers who threaten to report you may make it just not worth it.
Also keep in mind that griefing – essentially anything that involves being a big jerk to the people around you – is something we will take action on. So, for example, shooting at the boss while the other person is mobbed by Minions, that’s no biggie. Following him around and pegging everything he attacks is considered griefing and will get you, on first offense, a firmly shaken finger.
Second and third offenses are much harsher.
Oh, and pet peeve. Don’t argue with the GM. If we’ve come to, for example, change your name…just cooperate. Treat us nicely and we will treat you nicely. The number of times I’ve heard VVolverine say “Nuh-uh! My name’s not copyrighted!”…I tells ya, if I had a dollar for every time that happened…that and “I see copyrighted characters all the time! Why are you singling me out?” and “What do you mean, Sofa King Great is inappropriate? What’s wrong with it?” and “But Ivana Humpalot is my real name!” …
So, whatever momentum you have with Superspeed is suddenly arrested as you go to Jump? Yuo can’t cover extra distance that way?
You can with Sprint, apparently, so that’s odd.
As for names… when you find a player whose name needs changing, is that a quick process? Do you all only go after the big copyrighted names, or minor characters too? (Because, let’s face, it, 99% of the available decent-sounding hero names are taken, somewhere.) Where’s the line?
You only get the mob on your mission if you did most of the damage. When I am playing Justice Blues, if I have done less than half damage to the mob I am wearing away and someone comes along and wipes out all the mobs I have surrounding me, I don’t get any credit on a hunt mission.
What about supergroup names. Last night I saw someone with in a supergroup called something like “pimps and pimpettes of Paragon”. Didn’t seem very heroic to me. :dubious:

Hmm…I think my Harvard Pharoah is on that server. It’s a character my friend made and got to level 11, I think. He wanted to try the game so he used my account to play the guy. He’s a dark melee scrapper, I think. He’s in a green business suit, and has the Egyptian Pharoah head. He uses his dark powers for fighting evil, instead of business.
This weekend I ran across the best character concept in the game:
Punches Pilate, the super-strength tanker.
The battle cries write themselves with a name like that.
