As far as I’m concerned they got it right the first time. None of the variety flavors (with the exception of Crunchy) came close to the original.
I thought this year’s feature flavor was coconut.

So I am partially confused over some of the things said.
There HAVE been white chocolate Reese’s. I am getting the impression that people are wanting it, and have either forgotten that they came out (twas a while ago) or maybe just the fact that I live in a test market (Yay college town!).
FTR: I love Reese’s. I love white chocolate. I didn’t like them together.
Also: Reese’s cookie was the best thing ever…and I am mad I can’t find it.
Or Doritos, for that matter. Going to the store for a bag of Doritos used to be such a simple thing. I’m old enough to remember when there was only one flavor of Doritos! Now I go and stare at the display, sometimes taking so long to make up my mind that I get store employees coming up to ask if they can “help [me] find something” which is, of course, code for “You’re starting to look suspicious and are probably going to steal something, so I’m going to cheerfully offer assistance in order to deliver the subtle hint that we’re watching you, so don’t try anything funny.”
As for Mountain Dew … there is only one flavor of Mountain Dew. If it’s not green, it’s not Mountain Dew.
SHUN THE UNBELIEVER!!!
Reese’s totally RAWKS.
It is one of life’s little ironies that we make a point of visiting Mecca… er, Hershey… at least once a year (it’s “home” to me, I grew up nearby) and always visit Chocolate World and buy lots of stuff to bring home. But my son is allergic to peanuts and thus we have a peanut-free house, and so I cannot load the back of the car with Reese’s-ey goodness.
May I highjack this thread yet again in order to point out that the new incarnation of the taco flavor in no way resembles the original taco that many on this board have reminisced about. Don’t fall for it like I did.
Your confusion confuses me. Who said there weren’t white chocolate Reese’s?
I respectfully disagree. The Big Cup is much, much more than the sum of its parts. The minis rock, too. Many years ago, a different company (Smucker’s, I think?) came out with peanut butter and jelly cups. They were not good, IMO.
Stoid, are you certain that you didn’t hallucinate the banana one? Nobody else is backing you up on that one.
I forgot to mention that I once met a woman who pronounced “feces” with a hard “c”. It sounded like “fekkez”.
Ahh! What you’re looking at is Hershey taking advantage by dabbling where the competition won’t.
If you love Chocolate, you’ll love this 1999 book: “The Emperors of Chocolate”
One of the things you learn is that the Mars family Hates, HATES Peanut Butter.
Okay, they came out with a PB item many years ago but pulled it before it had a chance to do anything.
My impression is that Hershey keeps introducing mutants of Reese’s because if something takes off, they know they won’t get any competition. Hershey will own that particular market.
I actually prefer Boyer’s Smoothies, to tell the truth…ALL peanut butter, no chocolate.
Yeah…
Upon reading things again…I’m an idiot.
Disregard the above post of mine.
I’ve been seeing the Los Angeles 99 Cent stores trying to move these things for at least a year or more. I dissed 'em up top without tasting them. I hate banana flavored anythng. I can barely tolerate actual bananas.
But these are hard to miss because they are the Elvis Reeses, complete with Elvis image right on the package. They were a special limited edition to commemorate the King’s passing. Because you know he liked fried banana&peanut butter sandwiches. EW. Friend bacon grease. EW. Sometimes with some of that bacon thrown in. EW.
Ok, now I’ve seen everything.
Oh wow those Select Cremes look scrumptious. Hershey doesn’t have them on the site yet but my favorite CandyBlog has all the mouthwatering pics and details.
I want!!!
Sigh I believe that was the PB Max, once my favorite candy. I bought a whole case once at a warehouse store, I limited myself to one a day and when they were gone, they were really gone. I couldn’t find them anymore. I believe the loss of the PB Max is what sent my life into a joyless downward spiral. Damn you Mars candy! Damn you all to hell!
They also took away the Mars bar which was sort of like a Milky Way but with almonds. I heard they now make Milky Ways with almonds but I know it’s a trick and it’s not the same thing. No one should have that much power to destroy people lives.
Russell Stover’s. And they were bad indeed.
Yes, the PB Max was the absolute apex of peanut butter/chocolate/other candy bars, the biggest difference between a PB Max and a Reeses Cup was that Reeses peanut butter has always had a gritty consistency, wheras the PB Max had actual creamy smooth peanut butter in it
Preach it!
The PB Twix bar is something that I enjoy from time to time, too.
Banana Cup? BANANA CUP? BANANA CUP???
I’ve never even heard of such a thing, but now I really want one.
I <3 banana flavored stuff
