The irrational hate is back. Sundance just friggin sucks. And is he copying Blake’s stupid pointy Flock of Seagull hair?
But it looks ten times less greasy. Which I’m all for.
I thought he said “punk.” Whatever. I really want to like Sundance, but “Jeremy” is not one of those songs that should ever be rockabillified. I feel very possessive and protective about this song. Shut up, Randy! That wasn’t hot – that was sacrilege. But, at least Sundance doesn’t look like a homeless mechanic this week, which I must admit I do support.
Ah, my bad. That does make more sense.
Yeah, as much as anything can really make any kind of sense on this show tonight. My entire worldview is upside-down right now, and I feel nauseous. And scared. Hold me?
Thanks. I’ve heard of them, I guess. The song sounded vaguely familiar.
Travis Tritt! Swoooon
It’s Revenge of the Stylists week!
I rather enjoyed ironed Sanjaya, and the cameraman carefully keeping Sundance’s Klingonesque faux-hawk out of the frame was awesome.
I’m still sorta pulling for Sanjaya, I just think he’s got a better talent and tone than some of the others, if he can just grow into the confidence (and maybe balls) he’ll blow half of the rest out of the water.
I’ll take a heaping helpin of that irrational Sundance hate BG’s dishing out, and share in the general affection for Blake as well.
Blake: Yich. Maybe it’s just because I hate 311.
Sanjaya: I actually thought it was pretty good. Best so far.
Sundance: Blech. Plus, something about “Jeremy” on Idol seems crass.
Chris: Yawn. Voice too reedy for the song.
Chris Not Sligh is boring me. But I’m sure there are a lot of 9 through 13 year olds who love him.
Chris R. sucked. I don’t know why they’re pimping him. Sanjaya was actually better.
Wait … did Randy just say that Chris R. was singing a Keith Urban song? It sounded like a Michael Jackson B-side, and it sounded kind of flat to me, besides. Have I, once again, gone around the bend? Wouldn’t surprise me, but I want to sure.
Travis Tritt is aging very well, and he isn’t even my type, or anything.
If only Sandy could be as powerful as his eyebrows. . .
And Jared continues the march of the scary eyebrows. And he isn’t singing very well.
Pearl Jam sung on Idol, it is wrong.
And Southern rock twist on “Jeremy”? Weird…
Jared looks like a mix between Carlton from The Fresh Prince and some sort of bird-like muppet that I can’t put my finger on.
Jared…doesn’t suck exactly. This is just…really lame.
You know, I really love this Stevie Wonder song that Jared is singing … but only when Stevie sings it. There are, like, 940 million songs in the world. Why does everybody have to pick on Stevie? Or why can’t they at least pick one that isn’t already so stylized? Tony Bennett just won a Grammy for “For Once In My Life” – who don’t we start there?
Agreed about the 311 version of Lovesong. I do think Blake was good though. His voice suited the song well.
I didn’t much like Sundance, but that was never my favorite Pearl Jam song anyway. There’s no melody except in the chorus, and I don’t like most of the lyrics either.
I was just thinking this!
Yay, a song for an oldie like me! I don’t even mind Brandon’s voice which, as I have mentioned often, I don’t like.
