Hey Diogenes, another thread where you can rant about Favre.

another farve-like performance.

sweet!

Yeah. A pick returned for a touchdown that almost cost the game and some idiotic throws that would have been picked off by a better defense. All of no relevance because he came through in the clutch. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Packer fan, and I think Brett Favre is a great quarterback. He’s also a pretty poor quarterback at times.

All true. But each season with Brett has hope, which was sorely lacking during the 23 years of the Bengston-Devine-Starr-Gregg-Infante era.

Oh, I agree. I was particularly impressed with one stat the announcers flashed during the game. It showed that, with Favre as starter, the Packers have not had a sub .500 season, while having like 24 in the time before. That’s clearly a sign that the guy is a helluva quarterback.

Bummer about Reggie White, though. Dead at 43. Too sad.

Well, the Vikings had about a 1.5% chance of missing the playoffs, but they’ve already increased that to a respectable 12.5% chance, and by midafternoon will most likely be rooting for the Jets in a somber Maryland locker room.

J-E-T-S…

Jets! Jets! Jets!

Better chance with N.O.

What a class act that Randy Moss is. Leaving the field before everyone else while the game was still being played. I would suspend him on principle if I was that coach. That guy is a complete fuck-knob.
Who, whoo! The Pack get to play the Queens one more time this year! I’m never really excited about playing a team that backs into the playoffs like the Vikings did. You never know how they’ll come out playing. They could play like they finished the season (sucky) or they could come out like fighting like a cornered badger. And beating the same team three times in one year is no easy task. I think we did it once before in the 90`s against Detroit, when they still had Barry Sanders.

You’d trade Driver or Walker for Moss in a heartbeat.

Here we come, ass first into Lambeau (Thank you, Saints). It’s going to be very cool to eliminate the Cheese from the playoffs on their own field.

Did you know this is the first time the Vikes have ever played the Packers in the post season? Surprising but true.

A little early to be hitting the vodka, no?

Get your paperwork in order and bet the farm. I hear the Pack is favored by 6 already. Wait till the odds makers figure out that the Vikes have only won two of their last 20 outdoor games, lost seven or their last ten, etc.
I think we’re all familiar with Favre’s work in December and the Packers general record being quite good in the post season. ( Just forget about that last Atlanta playoff game at home a couple of years ago.)

Yes, and I was wrong about the Lions, it was the Bucks that the Packers last beat three times in one season. In '97.

Are you out of your friggin mind?!? This is the same as saying the Pack wanted Chris Carter when he left the Vikes. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you haven’t shaken the flu yet and it’s just the fever talking.

Otherwise, it ain’t the vodka talking, it’s heroin-laced crack.

Poor, poor Dio. It’s too bad you’re an atheist. I was going to suggest you pray for the health of Favre’s family. One more death and it’s all but assured another title in Titletown.

Somebody check on Duffer. Duffer, man, it’s OK. Only a game. Duffer?

Did you bet yours? If not, you passed up some easy money.

Moss is a jackass. That TD celebration was one of the most disrespectful things I remeber seeing on a football field. Bring back T.O. and the Sharpie, he looks good in comparision.

I can’t wait for Vikes-Eagles next weekend. That’ll be good.

Yes, yes…he has certainly tarnished the dignity and decorum that the WWE…errr…NFL prides itself upon.

Still here and cooking dinner.

Wonder what Owens has up his sleeve for next week if he can play. Hard to top being a complete shitheel after that Moss catch. Be proud Minnesota. That’s your guy.

Next year. I have the Division winning Pack to rely on come September.

I’d rather have “head up his ass Favre” than that shitheel Moss anyday.
Man, that illegal forward pass just before halftime and the subsequent missed field goal really sealed the deal.
Normally, I like to pass the torch to the team that beat us but I can’t gather up any respect for the Vikings. I uaually feel better if the team that beat us goes on to win it all, but if the Eagles don’t crush the Vikings by 75 points I wont be happy. And I really hope that Moss’s ankle wont prevent him from playing next week. Gee, I’d hate him to miss out on such an ass whippin’ and give the Vikings some manner of excuse as to why they were never in the game.
Go, Eagles!!

As far as Favre goes, he will decide in the next couple of weeks if he will retire or not. They would have had a satisfactory season if the secondary was half-way decent. Makin’ that old guy throw down field every other play is not the recipe for a successful season.

One more thing. Where was the short passing game? - the two minute drill type offense that Brett is so good at. It seemed that the Pack either ran the ball or threw it 25 yards down field. Or up for grabs.

Somehow, duffer, I knew that when I read the boards today, I would see you frothing at the mouth about the game and claiming that it didn’t matter anyway since Green Bay won the division. Thanks for not disappointing.

Which team, again, is advancing to the divisional round? I’ll give you a hint: it’s not the team with the future Hall of Fame QB that threw four interceptions yesterday.

Yes, yes, Green Bay has won some Super Bowls. Good for them. And they won the division, too; congratulations. Did they win a single playoff game this year? No, they lost at Lambeau, big time.

The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem …
